Art Journal Page 3

Hello there ...

We've had some really nice weather these past few days ... the sun has been shining, though it cools right down in the evenings ... I've seen more bees and butterflies lately too ... I took these photos in the garden yesterday

I've also had a little time to play and use up some more scraps to make another page for my journal

I can't seem to get away from these colours ... I just love them

I've used paints, stamps, Rubons, chipboard and molding paste

I also did some crackle effect on my chipboard heart and the 'burlap' is actually made from paper

Before I go I want to wish a very

Happy Birthday!!

to my sweet blog friend Ira ... I do hope your package has arrived!

I hope you're having a good start to your week ... I'll be back tomorrow with my project for CCCB

Till then, take care

Sweet

Hello and good morning!

It's time for a new prompt at

And the lovely Kirsty has picked the word
Sweet

These are some Sweet buns I made to take to a friend a couple of days ago ...

Unfortunately there are some family issues going on that have been taking a lot of my time and energy this past week, hence it's been a little quiet on my blog, so it was good to escape to a friend's house for the afternoon and eat something Sweet!

The issues involve this Sweet little lady that my family and I love and adore ...

My great niece Sophia ...

I'm keeping this post short and Sweet ha ha! But I couldn't leave you without sharing a couple of photos of the Sweet boy in my life enjoying the lovely warm sunshine that we've had these past few days

Definitely Sweet!

Link up your "Sweet" photos with us this week at

And enjoy your day!

Bright and Bold

Hello there...

I was so fortunate to have This card picked as a joint winner at
AAA Cards last week  - And also highlighted at Mod Squad
Thanks so much ladies!

This week at AAA cards it's all about Watercolour

...Whilst the monday challenge over at Simon Says Stamps is to use Bright colours, Bold stamping or a Big Stamp
This is my first time playing here and I am becoming a huge fan of this company, so I decided to get very messy and enter both challenges with this card

There's lots of paint on this card in various colours ...  I smooched, splattered and painted ... Drying my paper in between. The big stamp I used was first stamped using Brushed Pewter distress paint and then I went over it ... offsetting slightly in black ink...

I added more gold paint to the image using a brush and finished with dimensionz ... The postage stamp is a Rubon ... I just thought it fitted well here

I hope you are having a good week ... Thanks so much for looking in ...

Till soon

City Crafter 227

Hello and welcome ...

Today the talented Charlene is hosting at City Crafter with a brilliant challenge

I can See Clearly

The challenge is to use something 'clear' on your project -
Acetate, Vellum, Glossy accents, Translucent embossing paste, clear plastic etc.,
And please make sure that we can see your clear element

I managed to get 3 'clear' items on my card

You can see the vellum matt and butterfly both of which I sponged with inks ... and you can also see the glossy accents

The sparkly panel is acetate that has a fine yellow green stipe to parts of it and I've backed it with silver glitter paper ... You can probably see it better in this shot

I am delighted to say that our Guest Designer this week is the lovely Stella!

Stella has also kindly sponsored a wonderful prize to the winner of this challenge

Just look at those goodies!!

Please hop over to the Blog and check out the lovely creations from Stella and the team this week ... I hope you will be inspired to join us ... We love seeing your creations

Thanks so much for your visit - have a great day!

Seeds

Good morning ...

It's time for another word prompt at

This week Robyn has set the prompt and she's picked the word
Seeds
Very appropriate for this time of year I think ... seeds are just about everywhere

I saw this 'sugar stealer' caught between the flowers ... I love seeing them float around - They are bigger than the seeds from Dandelions ...

I think these seed balls looks so pretty ... probably more so than the flower ... My DH can't stand Dandelions ... which is a shame as the child in me still likes to blow them

We had a wonderful array of Cosmos this year ... grown from seed ... they were planted in containers and I've collected the seeds from the centres to grow next summer

These are seed pods from my Sweet Peas ... they didn't do too well this year, maybe next year they will be better...
And finally a photo of the Clematis... Like delicate pinwheels the fluffy seeds have already be blown along with the wind

Isn't nature just wonderful?

Of course there are lots of seeds ... many that are edible ... so I'm looking forward to seeing your photos this week ...

Have a lovely Sunday ...

Autumn

Hello!
Oh my goodness we had rotten weather yesterday ... So much rain and it was really gloomy
I made a card for 2 challenges and it took all day for the glossy finish to dry and then it didn't really photograph well ...

So, the challenges are Mod Squad

This week it's a Fruitful Harvest Challenge

and

Where we are asked to use Stencils

Here's my card...

I used a new stencil by Scrap FX which I bought at Merly Impressions ... Can you believe this was only £1.85? I am impressed!
I used molding paste and sprinkled it with glitter whilst still wet

All the fruit and leaves were cut from white cardstock on my cameo and I coloured each one using a variety of ink pads and the sponging method before using dimensional magic and glossy accents

The sentiment was from a stamp set that came free with a magazine last year - Hopefully you can see a little of the gloss here

I'll be back tomorrow with my post for Our Beautiful World

Till then be safe
