PTI Techniques

Hello ...
I've a card to share that I did using a couple of the Make it Monday techniques at PTI
Sometimes I don't always get time to do them and not all of them are for me but it's a great way to get one's mojo going...

This card features the dipped die cut technique along with this week's one - partial die stamping

I love this sea glass colour ink by Avery Elle and used it to sponge my card base to which I then added
something called Fluffy Stuff by Woodware ... It's like liquid pearls in white but when you heat it up it goes puffy like snow

I dip dyed the antlers on my stag using silver embossing powder and silver embossed part of my PTI word die using the Life stamp set also from PTI

I think next time I'll  add some glitter to the Fluffy Stuff before I heat it and see what happens but overall I'm pleased with the way this turned out

I hope you're having a good day ... It's been pretty dull here but not too cold for this time of the year

Till soon be safe and thanks for dropping by

City Crafter 235

Hi there ... Did you have a good weekend?
DH got his new car so we took a trip to Lincoln to visit my Aunt on Saturday ... We had a great time

Are you ready for a new challenge at City Crafter? This week we have the fabulous Char hosting for us
Char wants us to make a card or project using stripes

Source

Here's my card

I enlisted the help of my Cameo to cut out 3 oblong shapes into a piece of CS and added acetate behind them - then using foam pads I adhered that to my base card after first adding a piece of striped paper

I also cut the stars and the word 'You' on the Cameo - The word 'Sparkle' is a PTI die

Our Guest Designer Greta has been with us all this month and this will be her last week with us ... We really enjoyed having her onboard ... The winner of our challenge this week will also be offered a GD spot with us so get out your stripes ... Paper, Paint whatever suits you and come join us this week.

Our team have some lovely projects for your inspiration up on the Blog ... pop over and take a look!

Have a lovely week and I'll be back soon

Spooky

Hello and Happy Sunday!

Not long now till Halloween and at

The lovely Manuela has chosen a great word prompt for us

"Spooky"

This week with the help of Picmonkey I altered a few of my 'normal' photos to make them
Spooky...

The above shot was originally a photo of snow falling in my garden ... darken it, add a moon and some Halloween favourites and voila!

As well as Picmonkey I played with brushes in Photoshop to change the above photo into a ghostly image with dark shadows creeping along ... you saw the film Ghost? Remember those black little shadow things that took away the bad people... Eeeek!!

A young witch? Or just me at 16 with my cat? It's all in the eyes....

I'll leave you with this photo taken in my garden - I think there's always something spooky about magpies

I'm really looking forward to seeing your photos this week ....

Link up with us at

And don't forget to hop over to the blog and see what the rest of the team have in store for you

Till soon

Awesome

Hi there ...

We have a challenge going on at City Crafter - A Piece of Sky ... The inspiration photo I chose for the challenge inspired me to make a similar card ...
This is the inspiration photo

... And this is my card

I tried various ways to create a galaxy background but the one that worked best for me was to start with a piece of pearlescent black cardOf course not all paints show up on this but trying different ones I found that Tim Holtz Pewter Distress paint worked brilliantly to give a shiny misty effect

It's difficult to photograph but I dabbed some of the pewter paint on one side of the CS and sprayed it well with water and then just moved the CS around allowing the paint to swirl and settle where it wanted
After drying this off I used Shimmerz paint (Egg Noggin) spray and some Mr Huey's calico white spray

The stamp set is WPlus9 So 80's ... It's a limited edition and if you are in the UK you can buy it at Make the Day Special (click the link)
Here and Here are a couple of links if you'd like to watch ways of creating this type of BG ... I guess you have to find which works best for you - I really like the result of this one

Thanks so much for your visit ... Have a lovely day

Birthday Sparkle

Hello

It's been a bit wild weather wise but all's good ... We had the tail end of hurricane Gonzalo yesterday and I'm really grateful I don't live in a part of the world that has hurricanes on a regular basis

There are more birthday's coming up so I made another shaker card for a friend who celebrates her birthday in a couple of days...

This time I cut a dress with my Cameo and used the negative as my shaker... There was a time when I thought a shaker had to be a square or circle but really anything goes - it's a great way to use the negatives and scraps of paper

Also I have lots of those sequins ... got to use them right?

The die cut word is from PTI ... I can see this being used a lot

I hope your enjoying your week ...

 Take care

City Crafter 234

Good morning everyone ...
It's my turn to host over at City Crafter Challenge and the theme this week is

"A Piece Of Sky"

(Which also happens to be one of my favourite Streisand songs ...)

This week we want you to create a card or project that includes 1 or more of the following
Moon, Sun, Rain, Clouds, Snow

Typically British I went with rain...

I cut the image on my Cameo (twice) - once in grey CS and once in dottie paper so that I could cut out the umbrella and pop it up with foam dots to give some dimension ... same with her wellingtons which were given a coat of Glossy Accents

I'm sponsoring a prize for the winner this week ... A pretty paper pack

If you like mystical backgrounds you'll love these papers

Our team have more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog so hop over and take a look

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for looking in
