Blue.....

Hello and Good morning!

Our prompt this week at Our Beautiful World has been chosen by Kirsty

The word is Blue... Kind of how I'm feeling ... It's wet and dull

The bird table is abandoned ... even the spider's web is vacant

The terracotta pots are chipped and worn

and a single Blue pansy looks out at the remnants of summer

The Blue swing chair where Ginger cat and I spent our summer relaxing is looking forlorn

By complete contrast let me share with you a couple of my brother's recent family holiday shots

Two little sparrows drying off after a dip in the 'oh so Blue' pool ...

On the Island of Kos ...

This is my kind of blue... I know where I'd rather be right now

Link up your kind of Blue at Our Beautiful World this week

Enjoy your day

Cool Yule

Hello...

Pink Petticoat has just put out a new set of digital Christmas images ... Seeing that one of them was a penguin I had to get them ... See I wanted to CASE or rather COPY This gorgeous card by the talented Laura Bassen - Except I didn't have the little images until now
So here's my take

I coloured the little guy in Photoshop and I know I'm a lousy fussy cutter but I don't think the recipient will mind

I love his google eyes and I adore these new stitched border dies from Lawn Fawn

I have more plans for these little penguins... By the way have you seen the new Christmas advert for John Lewis? No? Well here you go ...

Enjoy

Wild and windy...

...That's the weather here today and I'm finding it hard to get motivated creatively speaking...
I bought a new winter coat and some new boots this week ready for the winter and put away all my summer clothes this morning... sigh

I have a card to share that I made for a sweet blog friend who will be celebrating her birthday this month

Something soft and pretty...

... With a few touches of glitter

My camera also stopped working this week ... The shop has sent it off to see if it can be repaired but knowing I can't be without one my DH bought me a brand new Nikon Coolpix.  I'm not good at reading instructions so I'm still getting used to how it works - these are the first shots I've taken with it and they seem to be ok ...

Oh, and remember this card I made for a friend who lives local

Well it never arrived - despite the fact that it was posted IN the Post Office!! (Big sigh)

I hope you're having a better week, Thanks so much for your visit

Hugs

City Crafter 236 - My Deer

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I hope you had a good weekend and if you're ready for a new challenge at City Crafter you'll be delighted to know that our newest team member the lovely Stella has chosen the challenge this week ...

My Deer

Stella has a love of deer ... and this week her challenge to us is to create a card or project that features a deer ... Simple right?

I created a 3D card with the help of my Cameo ...

I backed the die cuts with some Christmas vellum and when the light shines it looks really pretty

I got the glitter out for this ... I love glitter at Christmas

This would also look really nice with a little battery operated candle behind it

Our team have some more inspiration for you up on the blog and our Guest Designer is
Imke won our challenge in week 230 with her beautiful card -  she is a very talented lady ... click the link to go visit her blog

I hope you can join us this week ... Our winner will also have a GD spot with us

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by

Till soon

Historical Monuments Old and New

Hi there ...

This week Robyn has chosen the prompt word at

Historical Monuments

Liverpool is full of Historical Monuments and it seems every week more are added to the landscape. The thing is you really don't take much notice when you have passed them constantly for years ...

This is a relatively new one ... standing high up at the renovated dockside it is one of a tribute to the many dockers who lived and worked at the busy and prosperous port of Liverpool

This is another one

You can see that there is still building work in progress ... what was once a run down dockside has been transformed ... Luxury apartments, Marinas, Water sport areas and Restaurants are just some of the new features

I worked in the city for a long time and regularly went into the city to shop and to socialise ... We had so many night clubs that monuments were just regarded as a meeting place before we went off to enjoy the nightlife ...
These days I hardly ever go into the city and this week I haven't been well enough to go out and about taking photos so I'll share just a small few of our Historical Monuments ... photos NOT taken by me but a little bit of my city... You can click the Source links to find out more about them

Edward V11 ... The famous Liver Buildings in the background

The Gladstone monument

The MacKenzie Monument

The QueenVictoria Monument

The Lord Nelson Monument

They you are ... just of few of the scores in and around my city

I hope you'll link up your photos of
Historical Monuments this week at

Hop over to the blog to see what the rest of the team have come up with

Enjoy your day

Love

Hello ... How are you all?
I had the flu jab a couple of days ago and I've felt quite rough ever since .. sigh

I've a card to share which I made for my husband's son and his wife ... they celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary at the weekend ... We actually missed the wedding last year as my husband was in hospital

I picked up a couple of MME paper pads at TK Max ... Cut & Paste by Jen Allyson ... not that I needed more paper but I love MME and Jen Allyson designs so the paper I used is from one of these pads ... I drew a curve shape on my cameo and cut my paper with it - adhered it to white CS and then did a partial die cut circle ...

The "Love" die is by PTI and the little inset heart has had glossy accents added to it ... not sure if you can see it but it is very effective IRL

I know I usually work with softer colours but I really love these papers ... I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them!

Have a beautiful day and I hope your Halloween celebrations go well tomorrow

Till soon
