A Little Decor

Hi there ...

I've not much to post right now ... Just been working on upcoming DT projects and busy with life
However, I thought you may like to see how my dining area is shaping up

So ... it's been redecorated and a faux panel wall constructed ... I haven't been able to find a photo of the before but trust me it's totally different

This is an old pine unit I've had for years and I'm loathe to part with it so I used a chalk paint to give it a new lease of life and using wax paper I added the french graphic ... a freebie from The Graphics Fairy

New handles that sparkle and catch the light and new lamps too ... You can see the runner under the glass top which I made from (matching to the paper) fabric which I also used to cover the seats of the new Ikea chairs

The table is also from Ikea - a lucky find in the bargain section and just the right size - I painted the top too and then we had glass made to fit

I painted the old mirror and I added my trade mark splatters in pewter Lol!
The 3 bottles wrapped in burlap I found at The Range and today they have fresh daffodils in
There is some more work to complete ... namely I managed to get a shuttered mirror yesterday which I intend to paint and put at the other end of the room together with a little shelf ...

It seems to have been a long process not least of all because the guy who was to finish off the new beading around the floor never returned - we waited 3 weeks and ended up having to finish it ourselves plus DH had to do a little more papering

We're pleased with the result though and next stop is the new insulated roof to be done on the conservatory which means that too will be decorated soon.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've been up to

Till soon take care

City Crafter 249

Good morning!

Got my head screwed on right today and ready to go with a new challenge at
Where we have Kirsty hosting for us with the theme
Love Metal

Kirsty is asking that we create a card or project that includes a metal piece

I used a metal frame

... Which I backed with acetate to mount the little butterfly

As you can see I used paints to make the background and the butterfly and I stamped "You are amazing" in Versamark which I then embossed with white EP. It doesn't show up too well on these photos I'm afraid.

Our GD this week is the talented Lenet who won the challenge in week 246 Hop over to her blog and take a look at her beautiful projects and then go and see what the rest of our team at CCCB have to share with you this week

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for looking in on me

Till soon

Cherish Every Moment

Hey there!

I was absent from Our Beautiful World yesterday ... The reason being that I got my prompts mixed up - I had my photos and post all ready to go but for the wrong week! By time I realised, it was too late to do anything about it...
I hate messing up ... Feeling like I let people down ...It happens I guess- especially when you have so many things to remember and chiding myself only makes it worse

So I stepped away ... for a whole day I left my computer alone and took time out to spend with my husband ... I dressed up and we lunched out, visited a few shops and bought a few things for our home and enjoyed a nice evening together. Sometimes I just forget to be kind to myself...

I have these tape patches stuck on parts of my body that are sore and irritated and I sometimes feel like a patchwork doll Lol! This image kind of says it all ... I made it for Pat, one of the many friends who make me smile

...and laughs along with me when I get frustrated and cross with myself

I have got the right post for the challenge at City Crafter tomorrow though ... So I'll see you then

Have a lovely day and be good to yourself

Lucky Me

Hello
It's the end of a long and busy week and I for one am glad it's Friday - I can wind down a little...

Today I want to share the talent and kindness of a couple of dear blog friends

A month ago I celebrated another birthday (yep, there's been quite a lot lol!)
A new little girl came to live with me ...

This adorable bunny was handmade by Kirsty! As it happens her blog is called Handmade Little Things ... It arrived with this sweet pretty card

What Kirsty could not have known is that when I was very little I wouldn't go to bed without my beloved bunny ... I had one wrapped in a little blanket that slept in my cot with me so this gift is a precious reminder ...

And just when I thought my celebrations were over ... Another package arrived today from the talented and sweet Wendy Sylvestre
Oh my ... What beautiful things ... Take a look

Papers, ribbons, roses, and flowers

Lace, stamps and a gorgeous stencil

A beautiful mixed media card ... And as if this was not enough ... Wendy sent me her beautiful handmade book

How beautiful ...

What amazing friends I have

My heart is full of gratitude ..... Thank you!

Somebody loves you

Hello!

I'm snowed under with things to do today ... I wish you could see my craft room ... actually I don't Lol!
So many things to finish and I'm not quite sure where to start ...
Anyway I thought I'd share another card loosely resembling one of the cards my special needs group will be making tomorrow... The front of theirs will be totally different but the inside the same

Theirs will have DP on the front with an aperture for an image whilst mine is done sponging my favourite colour ink Sea Glass onto card stock ... stamping with watered down red gelato and speckles of gold writers ink

I cut the heart out and then stencilled circles with embossing paste adding a generous helping of glitter and then used foam tape to place it back

And on the inside....

3 dangling glittery hearts ... This is the part my group will love ... Can you work out how many hearts I have had to die cut? 60+ just for one card and I have another card and a project for them to make so you can imagine what my room looks like right now

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges

Thanks so much for checking in on me ... Have a lovely day
