Easter Shaker

Hello ...

Just a quick post from me ... I'm joining in the challenge over at

This is the sketch

And here's my card

It's my first Easter card this year ... I used a stamp by Hero Arts which was a gift from a blog friend some years ago...

I used Gelatos to colour the roses and stamped my sentiment (by Clearly Besotted) onto Vellum

I hope you're having a good start to the weekend ... It's Mother's Day here tomorrow

Thanks for stopping by ... Take care

Embossed Glue

Hi there!
How are you? Good I hope...

The other day I saw a tutorial Here for heat embossing hot glue which I thought was so clever and I had to give it a go, so I pulled out a scrap piece of paper and here's the result

I just made random shapes with the glue gun, I think I'll need some more practice but it was fun trying it out

I think it has an oriental look ... what do you think?

I had a great day in Lincoln yesterday with my sweet Aunt and my brother ... My Aunt looked so well and nowhere near her 88 years!
My brother did the driving and coming home was hard going as the motorways were so busy ... I really hate that 3 hour journey but it would take me 4 trains to get there and then a bus from the train station. You'd think there would be a direct route given that Lincoln is a huge university city ... Maybe one day ...

I'm preparing for my special needs group tonight ... I've 24 exploding boxes ready for them to assemble for their Mother's Day projects ... It's going to be a hectic night!

Have a lovely day and I'll be back soon

Smooshing with Betsy

Hello ...

This is a scheduled post as I'm off to Lincoln today for my Aunt's 88th birthday...

I'm joining in the Make It Monday with Papertrey Ink
Betsy Veldman is hosting with a technique known as smooshing and it's one I am very fond of since I am not an artist with a paint brush or copics ...
I made 2 cards using ink pads and water and smooshing

I love this colour combination - I've used a pearlescent card and the ink works really well on it ... The embossed sentiment (PTI) doesn't works so well though

The next card uses the Life stamp set (PTI) and the Time stamp set (PTI)

...along with a PTI butterfly die

I hope you're having a great day

Till next time

City Crafter 252

Good morning!

Today our newest DT member Samra has chosen the challenge for us at City Crafter
This week the theme is The Key to Time

Samra wants us to create a card or project that features either a clock or keys (or both if you like)

I did struggle with this which is kinda weird as in the past I've made many projects featuring clocks and keys but I guess they were more a shabby style and I wanted to try and do a cleaner style this time
Anyway, I pulled out my rose stamp again for this

I used the clock stamp and die designed by Mona Pendleton for MFT and I coloured my rose with Gelatos

I sealed a few sequins behind some stitched vellum ... It's the first time I've used my new machine for a card and my stitches are a bit wonky ...

Our Guest Designer for the whole month of March is the lovely Darnell Knauss who I'm sure most of you know and love
This week's winner will also have a GD spot with us so pull out those clock stamps or the keys you've been hiding and come and join us this week.

The team have some more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog ... hop over and take a look

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by

Beautiful You

Hello...

This week my sweet Aunt celebrates her 88th Birthday so I'll be heading off to Lincoln to see her on Wednesday and I'm really looking forward to it....

Here's the card I made for her

She likes happy cards and I think this is kinda happy with those balloons and vellum clouds don't you?

It's been hard trying to photograph things lately ... We've gone from rain and dull skies to bright sunshine but it's still not warm

I'll be back tomorrow for the City Crafter Challenge ... Have a great day and take care

Black & White

Hello there

This week it's Manuela's turn to pick a photographic prompt for

The prompt is Black and White

These are two of my less troublesome cats ... ornaments given to me years ago by friends
Little did we know then that Gyspy would come into our home

A black and white cat with a strong will and the strangest behaviour I have ever known in a cat

On the same shelf stands another cat ornament that is very like my fat Ginger cat

.. so I had to include this shot

My DH has been working on a project for his Local History class ... or rather I have been working on a project for him Lol! He's doing a brief history on John Lennon Airport and it includes lots of Black and White photos

I like black and white photos ... they are so much more flattering and I have a frame of family favourites on the wall of my hallway

I'm sure you can find many photos that fit this weeks' prompt ... I hope you'll share them with us at

Our Beautiful world

Hop over and visit the rest of the team to see what they've come up with

Have a lovely Sunday my friends
