The Card Concept Challenge

Good morning
My lovely blog friend Stella together with her husband are spending some time with their son today taking a look around the city.... I can hardly believe that after all these years blogging we have finally met!
So I'm taking the opportunity to join in the challenge at
I love the colours they have this week

And here is my offering for the CAS section

I stencilled the dots using Aqua and Coral ink pads ... I love those colours together

The butterfly was cut from CS that I had smooched with green iridescent paint and then sprayed with a touch of white and some drops of gold

The sentiment is from the Unforgettable set by Wplus9

We have a full weekend planned with our Dutch friends and though this photo is quite blurry I know some of you would like to see us meeting at the airport

Have a lovely day!

Hello

Hi there!

Just popping in with a little card I made a few weeks ago ...
The image is a free colouring book image

I took advantage of the Hello on the paper ... I'm often find that in paper packs I tend to leave some of the papers ... a little unsure how to use them

He's kinda cute don't you think

I hope you're having a good day ... It's seems that we will be losing our Spring weather in the next few days ... sigh ... back to the cold

Till soon - be safe

Nesting

Hello

I don't have anything crafty to share today but I would like to say a big "Thank You" to the voters at Muse Card Club where my card was featured in the Top Three!

We've had glorious sunshine these past few days ... Spring has arrived
Recently we had a new insulated roof put onto the conservatory ... It was always far too hot to use in the summer and far to cold in the winter ... Now it's pleasant and I've been spending a lot of time in there because there are windows on 3 sides and it's perfect for watching the birds and squirrels.

Just to one side is an old ivy growing over a divider fence...

It's here that robins have decided to nest and I've been able to watch them coming and going with food for their brood

I don't have a fancy zoom lens camera ... Just a Nikon CoolPix digital and my photos were taken from inside, behind glass, so I'm thrilled that they came out.

But it seems the robins are not the only ones nesting here right now

And this little one was only to happy to pose for photos

As a nature lover I am really enjoying this time of year and just being able to take the time to watch

Tomorrow my blog friend Stella and her husband Marcel will be arriving from The Netherlands and it will be so exciting to finally meet

It's going to be a good week ... I hope your will be too

Till soon

Happy Birthday City Crafter!!

Hello and good morning!!

City Crafter Challenge is celebrating this month ... We have just turned 5 years old!!

We have a month long party planned so for the next 4 weeks each of the Designers will create a card
The challenge is to CASe the card
You can pick up on the colours, the sketch or any element and make a version that is entirely yours
The designers have each sponsored a prize for the winner of each of the 4 challenges

Today we are kicking off with a card designed by Samra

...and this is fabulous the prize Samra is offering to the winner

I love Samra's shabby chic card and wanted to see if I could put a modern twist on the design - Here's what I came up with

I kept the sketch the same but used a host of butterflies instead of flowers ... They were cut from a piece of CS that I had sprayed first with various inks and paints

You can't really see from the photos but I used an iridescent paint for the butterfly bodies and together with the touches of gold in the wings they are quite shiny

We also have an amazing Guest Designer joining us this week ... Lula ... click on the link to go visit her blog and say "Hi" You will be enthralled with her lovely creations!

Don't forget to hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to check out all this week's creations and come join the party!!

Have a wonderful day!

Partial Double Die Cutting and Results

Hello ...
It's been so cold and windy here and we've seen a lot of rain too ... But blossom is slowly starting to appear on the trees and I can but hope it's gets a little warmer soon.

Over at PTI this week the 'Make it Monday' saw the talented Laura Bassen showing the partial double die cut technique ... I've done this before and discovered that it doesn't work with all dies to give such good results ... you have to be careful with your choice.
I can't enter my card at PTI because the one I made doesn't use any of their goods ... due to postage my supplies from them is very limited

But my thankfully lovely blog friend Diane pointed out that my card would fit the challenge at
The Muse this week is Kristie Goulet and this is her beautiful card

...Dramatic black against a sunset
Here's my card

The city scape die from Clearly Besotted Stamps is perfect for this technique because it has a straight edge that doesn't hinder the design when partially cut - I used it with one of the Sizzix circle dies

I sponged the front of my card first using Cantaloupe ink by Memento and Pink Grapefruit by Versamark ... together they give a lovely sunset effect and blend well - Like the muse... dramatic black against a sunset

On another note I have had the results of my biopsies and it seems that my rash is eczema ... Unfortunately because they were treating me for an allergy the meds obviously aggravated the eczema and so the recovery has been slow and at times painful. However, I am relieved that it is not Auto Immune disease as was first feared and now I know what I am dealing with I can apply the correct creams etc., hopefully come summer I will be fine.

I hope you week is going well ...

Hugs for now
