Vintage Garden

Good morning from a cold and wet Liverpool
I'm really fed up of the rain and the cold but in a weeks' time I will be flying off to spend a few days in a warmer part of the world thanks goodness!

Today I have a little mixed media piece to share ... my blog friend Pamellia has started her own Mixed Media challenge blog Here

So to support her first challenge I pulled out my paints and stencils and trinkets...
The challenge is a Vintage Garden

You can see the many paints I used on that stencilled background ... The wooden items also took 3 different embossing powders, Silver, copper and distressed walnut - some of the wood border was originally a frame that I broke apart ... I knew they'd come in handy some day

The tree was made from styrofoam ... I cut a shape from a styrofoam ball and added two different paints - hot glued a small twig and voila!

The little angel was a gift from my friend Sue Lelli and I had to add it ... I smeared 2 more paints over it to make it look aged and moss covered

The challenge at Just Us Girls this week is embossing

So I'll enter it there too.....

It's not often I do mixed media but given that it was such a wet and dismal day it was fun to sit for an afternoon and just get covered in paint

Have a beautiful weekend ...

Till son

Hexagons

Hello!
The week has flown by - I can't believe it's Thursday already

My card today was inspired by the amazing Laura Bassen who posted This card using hexagons...
Well, I had this little hexagon die that I've never used so decided to pull it out -

I don't have any Copics but I do love to play with paint...

I took a scrap piece of pearlescent CS and sprayed it with various inks, tilting the card to get some interesting designs and when it was dry I cut out some hexagon shapes and adhered them to a scrap piece of vellum...

I also cut the word 'you' from the same painted CS

The cue card at CAS.ology this week is Shape

...So I'll be entering my card there

Have a lovely day/evening ... I'm working with my special needs group tonight and I'm looking forward to it

Thanks so much for stopping by

City Crafter 260

Hello there ...

It's Samra's turn to host for us at City Crafter this week and she has chosen a lovely mood board to inspire us

The challenge is to create a card or project taking inspiration from the mood board ... You can use anything from the colours to the images

The first thing that called to me was the colours - that lovely aqua colour along side the brown and beige

I did some stencilling to tie in the colour and texture of  that pretty crocheted bedspread ...

...added a little gold and black and a frame as in the mood board and my card was complete

Our Guest Designer this week is Penny Ward  winner of week 255... Many of you will already be familiar with Penny's amazing creations ... Click the link on her name and go visit her lovely blog and see for yourself!
Our winner this week will also be offered a GD spot with us here at CCCB so get out your supplies and come join us this week - If you need more inspiration take a look at what the rest of the team have up on the City Crafter Blog

Enjoy your day and be safe

Case This Sketch

Hello and good morning!

I'm playing along with this week's challenge at CAS(E) this sketch
This is the sketch

I kind of went the negative route...

My 'tag' was cut out of the top CS and behind the negative space I stencilled with embossing paste
The tulip stamp and sentiment are by Clearly Besotted ... Did I mention that I got a Misti? Boy I'm loving that tool! Stamping is a breeze and no more wasted projects ... It's particularly good when stamping on tiny banners like the one on my card

...and you can stamp over your first attempt to get a better depth of colour

In case you are wondering ... the top CS was originally white card that I ran through my printer after selecting a digital paper from Pink Petticoat's Natural Pack - it's called Cashmere and I love it!

Enjoy your day

Till soon

Snapshot

Good morning!
I'm back with my photos for the new prompt at
Our Beautiful World photographic blog

This week Manuela has picked the prompt Snapshot

I had to look this one up.....

snapshot is popularly defined as a photograph that is "shot" spontaneously and quickly, most often without artistic or journalistic intent. Snapshots are commonly considered to be technically "imperfect" or amateurish—out of focus or poorly framed or composed. Common snapshot subjects include the events of everyday life, such as birthday parties and other celebrations, sunsets, children playing, group photos, pets, tourist attractions and the like.

Ok... so what better subjects than children

Namely my great niece sweet Sophia on a pirate boat ride

Playing in the garden

...And summer fun with Ross at their Grandma's house

Share your Snapshots with us at

I'm intrigued as to what you'll post

Enjoy your day

Thinking about you

Hello and Happy May to you all ...
I wish it were a little warmer here but at least colour is starting to come back into the garden and the trees are slowly filling out...

I have a little card to share using my Ellie stamp again - this time paired with the umbrella ...
(I am so thrilled to say that my umbrella card Here won the Chic of the Week at Just Us Girls!)

The umbrella is actually silver mirri card ... a little hard to photograph - I just made a little cut beneath Ellie's trunk to slide the umbrella handle in

I stencilled the background with ink - green and grey is how it's been here ... lots of grey skies and rain and the beautiful fresh green leaves on the trees

If you're wondering about that umbrella die it's by Impression Obsessions

I hope you have a lovely weekend

Till soon
