Poppy Sympathy Card

Hello...
I hope your week is going well ...
We have workmen in redoing our main bathroom ... I confess I hate the disruption and the noise - I know it will all be worth it in the end and I have my sweet Aunt coming to stay for a while in July - I'm really looking forward to that so I'll just have to grin and bear it right now...

I had to make a sympathy card for someone who has just lost her Mum

And having recently bought this gorgeous Painted Poppy stamp by Altenew... It was perfect for my card

... Along with some stencilling and gold glitter embossing ... I also added some 'dew' to the poppy petals using glossy accents

My sentiment was computer generated and I have a little tip for you - You may wonder how I got my sentiment lined up on my die cut
I used a little banner die (by Clearly Besotted)

lining up the die with the sentiment can be tricky so after I print or stamp the sentiment (ensuring the size will fit into my die) I draw a pencil line either side of the sentiment at the centre point (don't worry this will rub out afterwards)...

Turn your die cutting side down and place it to centre your words as above and then slide it upwards until your pencil lines are in the centre of your die

use some low tack tape to hold it in place whilst you run it through your cutting machine and it will come out perfectly centred...

Ok that's me for today...

Thanks so much for your visit - Take care

City Crafter 266

Good Morning!

I'm hosting the challenge over at City Crafter this week and the theme is

Die Cut Gold

As gold is very trendy right now I'm asking that you
Create a card or project that features one or more Gold Die Cuts

I'm sure like me you all have that shiny or patterned gold CS lurking in your craft supplies somewhere ... So go get it out and join our challenge

I stencilled tiny dots on my DP paper and though you really can't see it too well here, I added some gold glitter to the stencilled dots

I cut the paper using one of the Lil'Inkers hillside border dies to make a space for the gold die cut sentiment and it was easy to manipulate the 'congrats' to fit into the curve

To finish I layered 2 Tinsel Ropes one in white and one in gold across my card. I love this die and I've often just cut the 'stars' apart and used them individually

Our Guest Designer this week is Gildett Marillac  (click on the link to visit her blog) Gildett makes some really lovely project and I'm sure she would love it if you said "Hi"

As always our team have lots more inspiration for you up on the City Crafter Blog and this week's winner will also have a GD spot with us

Wishing you a lovely day

Our Beautiful World

Happy Sunday
I hope you are enjoying your weekend

Today at Our Beautiful World I've picked the prompt and it's
"Bell"

I didn't have to go far to find some in my garden ... This is the tiny bell shaped Lily of The Valley ... The bells are as delicate as their scent is ...

How about the wind chime ... That's got a bell

Not as pretty as some of the flowers though

Aquilegia... More bell shaped flowers nodding in the breeze ... they always make me think of fairies

Hop over to the OBW Blog to see what the rest of the team are sharing

Have a beautiful Sunday

Just Us Girls 297

Hello!
This is my second week of Guesting with the team at
This week's challenge is a Trend Week

Yep, stacked die cuts ... Easy peasy huh?

I love word dies and they look even better when they are die cut several times and "stacked" ... That's what I did here...

Then covered it in glossy accents ... I used a scrap of paper left over from a previous project both to stencil on and cut out the sentiment -  The butterfly stencil is one of those old metal stencil (by Anna Griffin) and it gives a really crisp image

For the banner I used a piece of Washi Tape and the 'LOVE' stamp is from another old set by Personal Impressions
I'm pushing myself with a green and white colour palette again but I've added a touch of black so I'm much more in my comfort zone

The talented team at Just Us Girls have lots more inspiration for you up on the Blog - Hop over and take a look ...

Thanks so much for your visit

Enjoy your day

Father's Day and Achievements

Hello there ...

Well it's been a busy week ...Yesterday my husband and I took Stella's son Martijn to the airport - His 6 month term here has ended and now he is back with his family ... We shall miss him greatly
Hop over to Stella's blog and take a peek at the photos she just posted ... It brought a lump to my throat and I know that Marcel will enjoy his Father's day!

I haven't had a great deal of time for creating but I do have a card to share that I made for my husband for Father's Day
He never gets cards from his own children which is a shame knowing all he does for them but at least he will have one from me

There's a great challenge going on at AAA Cards and my card fits the bill there

Click on the link to take a look

The stamp I used is a Penny Black christmas stamp and I used distress stains to colour it

...Then added some stencilling around the image

On another note I was fortunate to have This card picked as a winner over at the Card Concept this week and I also gained an Honourable Mention for my mixed media piece Here over at the Anything But Cut Challenge so I am really thrilled!
Thank you so much ladies!

I'll be back tomorrow ... enjoy the rest of your day

City Crafter 265

Hello and good morning!
Are you ready for a new challenge?

Kirsty is our hostess for this week's challenge at City Crafter

The theme is Tic TAG Toe
The challenge - Create a tag or a project with a tag, That's it!

I made a card with a tag for one of my brothers who celebrated his birthday recently

I splattered some TH Pewter distress paint over my card before adhering some strips of DP (MME & Basic Grey) and made a little tag for Ellie (from the Unforgettable stamp set by Wplus9)

The balloons by Lil'Inkers were die cut and cover in glossy accents

Our Guest Designer this week is Sue Butler - Winner of week 256  - her blog Scrumplescrunch has some very inspiring creations ... hop over and take a look and head on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what Sue and our team have created this week.

I hope you'll link up with us this week

I'd also like to link my card at The Male Room Challenge

And before I go I would just like to thank everyone for the lovely comments you leave ... However, there are a few of you who have "no reply" which makes it difficult to answer your questions or thank you personally ... So please don't think I am ignoring you

Have a lovely week

Till soon
