City Crafter 269

Good morning!
It's cooled down a lot here in the UK but I'm having a lovely time with my Aunt so forgive me if I don't get around to comment much this week ... I'll catch up when I can.

Today at City Crafter Challenge ... Kirsty is our hostess and the theme is
"You are my sunshine"
You're all singing it now aren't you ... Go on I know you are haha!

The challenge is to to make a card or project that features a lot of YELLOW

Here's my card

Yellow is not really my 'go to' colour but here I used it to stamp those pretty flowers (Painted Flowers stamp set by Altenew)

I cut the sentiment from some left over stamped card and though that sentiment die (By Lawn Fawn) cuts in one long strip ... I cut the words up to fit onto the card. I cut it out in black as well to give some shadowing to the words..

Our Guest Designer this week is winner of challenge 263 Margaretha - Here's a link to her lovely blog
Do go and take a look at her lovely creations.

As always the DT at City Crafter have more inspiration for you up on the blog along with Margaretha's lovely creation so hop on over and be inspired to join us this week.

Have yourselves a wonderful day

Pathway

Happy Sunday!!
Time for a new prompt at

This week it's Mandy's turn to pick for us ...

This week the prompt is
Pathway

I have my Aunt staying this week so I want to spend as much time as possible with her and away from my computer so I'll get right to it....

The wooden pathway through our woods with my beautiful Holly who I miss so much

In the same woods on there are many different pathways - like this one lush with greenery in Springtime - We often met up with friends

Come Winter it all looks so different

This next one is a steep original cobblestoned pathway in Derbyshire taken again many years ago

Lovely modern pathways through a housing complex in Spain

And finally DH on a pathway through the pine forest to the beach in Santa Ponca

Ok ... Now it your turn to share ... Link up at
and go take a look at the photos from the rest of the team

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Thinking of You and A Spoilt Cat

Hi there ... How's your week going?
We've had some really hot days over in the UK and I'm glad to see some rain right now

I've been busy preparing for my Aunt's visit and various other things and I'm trying to squeeze in a little time to create....

I got a new Silhouette Cameo some weeks ago ... (my previous one cost too much to repair) but I hadn't used the new one and when I finally did go to use it I saw that there were updates that had to be done ... I'm not going to bore you with the details but suffice to say it was not straightforward!
Anyways, having finally sorted everything I thought I'd cut a few things
Here's a card I made after cutting that bird and branch

For the background I did some water colouring using TH distress stains and some gold ink

This is going to a friend of mine ... Remember a while ago I was hospital visiting to see an old friend who was critical ... Thankfully she is now home ... She's weak and cannot walk yet but she's on the mend and now her Mum who I love dearly is going in for her cancer operation... I hope this little card will cheer her

Before I go I have to share a picture of Ginger or Gingie as I call him - You may recall that in good weather he would spend all day on the swing hammock ... No one else got a look in so I bought a new smaller one ... Yep ... He's claimed it as his own and spends all day and evening on it and is loving this good weather

It's a hard life!

Enjoy the rest of your week

City Crafter 268

Hi there!

It's the last day of June and the start of a new challenge over at City Crafter
This week we have Samra hosting for us with a
"Let's Go Nautical "
Theme

I just love anything nautical ... For some reason I decided to go nautical with a baby card this week

I used a cute little image from a colouring page that I found on the web and printed it twice so I could cut out the hat and mount one on top of the other for a little dimension ... I coloured the image with Promarkers

All the stamps including the little anchor on the chick's hat are by WPlus9 Dockside collection

This week we are excited to announce a new DT member ... The very talented Marina of
Please hop on over to her blog and see her beautiful creations and say "Hi"

Our Guest Designer this week is the winner of challenge 259 Judith another extremely talented and lovely lady from the Netherlands ... I just adore her creations and I'm sure you will ... click on the link to go see and don't forget to check out my fellow team mates creations on the City Crafter Blog

I'm so looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week
Have fun!

Till soon

More Poppies

Hello...
I hope you had a good weekend

My thoughts go out to all those affected by the mindless violence both in France and Tunisia this past week ... The terrible shootings in Tunisia happened in a place my husband and I stayed at a few years ago... It's really hard to comprehend what is going on in this world

Crafting takes me away from all that and I have another poppy card to share that I made for a friend's birthday ... we met at high school and more that 50 years on we are still friends

The poppies (Altenew) are painted with distress stains and the little jar (Clearly Besotted) is cut from Vellum

My new bathroom is finally finished and my ear infection is a lot better... I now have projects to prepare for Thursday club and next week my sweet aunt is coming to stay ... I'm  so looking forward to that ...

I'll be back tomorrow for the City Crafter Challenge - Till then, be safe and thanks for your visit
