Make a wish.....

Hello how are you?

I've been busy catching up on work this past week and I was delighted to see that the tag I shared in my previous post was picked as a favourite over at the Tag You're It challenge!! Thanks so much ladies!

I've made a few cards this week but none that I can share just yet ... However I do have one that I made a while ago using up my scraps

I love making cards from my scraps ... they always seem to come together much quicker than those where I have to 'think' about either the theme or the colours

The word 'wish' is a SSS die which actually says "wishing' I just cut of the last part ... It's worth looking at your word dies and seeing how you can easily adapt them to fit into your sentiment ... I like to do that with stamps too ... take words from different sets to say what I want

My special needs group had their end of term disco last night ... I'm exhausted! Lol!
I'm getting too old to be dancing all evening!
I'm glad for the summer break ... it gives me a chance to think about projects for next term and I can relax a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by....Enjoy your upcoming weekend

Tag It

Hello ...

This is my second post today ... I don't usually post twice on CCCB day but I wanted to squeeze in a challenge ...

The lovely Kara Lynne has joined the DT over at

And though I don't often make tags - I really wanted to play along...
This is the inspiration tag

I just love the red and blue and that coil of twine ... Here's my take

I stamped and embossed a piece of CS in white and then sponged two different inks for the blue background. I had a little boat already cut out so I also sponged the sails and boat with inks too

A white gel pen added a little more interest ... The stamps I used are by WPlus9
In place of a coil of twine I used silver thread for waves and some craft rope for the hanger and finally backed it all onto a scrap piece of grey CS.

Ok that's all for now ...

Have a beautiful day/evening

City Crafter 270

Hello there!

It's my turn to host the challenge over at City Crafter this morning and I've chosen the challenge theme
Woodland Animals
Create a card or project that features a  woodland animal

I made a card for a special little girl featuring a sweet little deer

The deer stamp is from a set by Stampendous and I just used distress stains to colour it
I'd already stencilled and splattered that background and it was in my 'to use' box

The little butterfly is a sticker from way back when

Our Guest Designer this week is Laurie (click on her name to go visit her blog Stamping up north with Laurie) I just adore her clean layered style and I know you will too!

As always the challenge winner will have a GD spot with us too.
Head on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the rest of the team have in store for you this week - We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us....

Wishing you all a Magical day

Till soon

Countryside

Hello and good morning!

My aunt is now back home in Lincoln and it was rather sad not to see her sweet face today ... I shall miss her, the laughter, our girly chats and the light she radiates wherever she is ... hopefully it wont be too long before we are together again.

Well as always Sunday sees a new prompt at

This week Kirsty has chosen the word Countryside

I dug out some old photos for this prompt even though they are not very clear - This photo is a favourite of mine ... It was taken in Derbyshire ... DH, Holly dog and I went on what was supposed to be a 2 hour hike

Somehow we took a wrong turn and it lasted all day until the mist came down ... We had to cross fields of cows and sheep ... It was quite daunting at times but a good memory....

We once rented a very old cottage in Scotland again with our beloved Holly

We were surrounded by the magnificent Scottish countryside ... Forests full of deer and other woodland animals ... On a walk through the forest a golden labrador appeared from nowhere and to Holly it was love at first sight!

That labrador followed us right through the forest and we were so surprised to come across this old empty mansion house right in the heart of the forest

It must have been a magnificent country house at one time

As much as I love the beach, the countryside calls to my soul ... there is nothing more beautiful or as enchanting
I'll leave you with a photo of the Welsh countryside in Autumn ... Simply beautiful!

Link up with us at

And go see what the rest of the team are sharing

Have a beautiful day

Furry Friends

Hello there ...

I've a few days left enjoying my Aunt's company and we've thoroughly loved being together so I'm sorry I haven't been around to your blogs for a few days ...

My Aunt does silk paintings ... She makes animal pictures sewing layers of silk threads and they are amazing ... Yes, I'm biased I know but it's something that I couldn't do and she does it right from looking at a photo.
She recently completed one making a cushion to back it onto for a special animal lover and asked me to make her a card to send with it...

Here's my card

The inside reads ... "To another"
The male recipient loves dogs in particular and I'd just bought these Avery Elle stamps so they were perfect!

The Simon Says Stamp wednesday challenge is all about Furry Friends so I'll enter my card over there
I coloured the pups using Promarkers and then just hand cut them

I thought you would like to see the cushion and the beautiful silk painting my 88 year old aunt created

Isn't it gorgeous? Here's a closer look at the detail she puts into her work

The eyes always amaze me ... She's so clever

I hope to be around visiting you all soon ...

Till then enjoy the rest of your day and be safe

City Crafter 269

Good morning!
It's cooled down a lot here in the UK but I'm having a lovely time with my Aunt so forgive me if I don't get around to comment much this week ... I'll catch up when I can.

Today at City Crafter Challenge ... Kirsty is our hostess and the theme is
"You are my sunshine"
You're all singing it now aren't you ... Go on I know you are haha!

The challenge is to to make a card or project that features a lot of YELLOW

Here's my card

Yellow is not really my 'go to' colour but here I used it to stamp those pretty flowers (Painted Flowers stamp set by Altenew)

I cut the sentiment from some left over stamped card and though that sentiment die (By Lawn Fawn) cuts in one long strip ... I cut the words up to fit onto the card. I cut it out in black as well to give some shadowing to the words..

Our Guest Designer this week is winner of challenge 263 Margaretha - Here's a link to her lovely blog
Do go and take a look at her lovely creations.

As always the DT at City Crafter have more inspiration for you up on the blog along with Margaretha's lovely creation so hop on over and be inspired to join us this week.

Have yourselves a wonderful day
