City Crafter 271

Hello!

Well, here we are on week 271 of City Crafter Challenge and it's my dear friend Stella's turn to host for us
Stella has given us the theme
Hemp & Twine

This week we are to create a project that features either Hemp or Twine but NO ribbon or lace!

Here's my whimsical card using twine

I made quite a lot of those galaxy backgrounds for my special need group so I'm using a piece here along with a kitty from the Newtons Nook stamps ... You recognise him right? It's my little ginger cat Lol!

He's being floated up to space in the "paper pieced" box tied to a ballon with twine

Our Guest Designer this week is Lise ... click on her name to go visit her lovely blog - I love her simple clean style and I'm sure you will too

This week there will be a prize package for the winner from our host Stella!

Just look at those beautiful goodies!

Hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the team have in store for you this week and thank you to everyone for your constant support....

Have a great week

Just For Me......

Hello ...
It's not often I make something just for me but It's pretty dismal here ... Grey skies and rain showers...
Even Ginger cat has found an old box to curl up in here in my craft room

I'm missing the beach ... been thinking about it a lot lately ... When I came across this on Pinterest

That was it ... I had to try and replicate it ... just for me ... to sit on my desk

I started with the 'sea' by randomly adding some art masking fluid on Watercolour card and then painting with various Distress Stains ... Not too bad...

...once I peeled off that masking fluid to reveal the white CS underneath and added a few splashes of water...
I decided to type out the words on my computer and print them onto acetate ... So far so good but it needed a little more

So I added some embellishments including a starfish I'd made from clay and painted - I used the same paint to colour some cardstock and die cut out the word LOVE several times and stacked it - same with the little heart.....

The rope at the top holds the acetate to the painted BG and that was then adhered with foam tape onto a scrap piece of cardboard which I had torn and given a wash of white paint ... Finally I glued it to my card base

I'm going to enter this at Anything But Cute

And also at AAA Cards

And would you believe the sun has now just appeared??

Have a great day

Life is beautiful

Hello ...
If you are looking for my post on Our Beautiful World - please scroll down...

I'm squeezing in a card for 2  3 challenges (thanks to my blog friend Lisette) ... A colour challenge at Colour Me which finishes tomorrow

A sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch

And a Stencils and Mask challenge at That's Crafty!

Here's my card

Sponging, stencilling, Glossy accents and glitter....

You can't really see from my photo how glossy those little cats are ... I cut them on the Cameo and coloured them before adding gloss
The stencilled brick was done with embossing paste mixed with a little distress stain (Fired Brick) and of course I sponged the BG before stencilling and adding glitter to the stars

To finish I typed a sentiment on my computer and printed it onto acetate then die cut it

I hope you are enjoying your day - Thanks for your visit

Till soon

Layers

Good morning!

It's my turn to pick a prompt for this week at

I thought we could have some fun with the word
"Layers"
It kinda conjures up many things don't you think?

Here's some photo's I came up with

Beautiful layers of petals on my roses

These have a wonderful scent

Layers of pretty balconies

Layers of houses and vineyards on the Amalfi coast

Layers of cabins, balconies and portholes

Hop on over to the Blog to see what the rest of the team have come up with for this prompt ... We'd love it if you shared your photos of layers this week too

Enjoy your day!

Make a wish.....

Hello how are you?

I've been busy catching up on work this past week and I was delighted to see that the tag I shared in my previous post was picked as a favourite over at the Tag You're It challenge!! Thanks so much ladies!

I've made a few cards this week but none that I can share just yet ... However I do have one that I made a while ago using up my scraps

I love making cards from my scraps ... they always seem to come together much quicker than those where I have to 'think' about either the theme or the colours

The word 'wish' is a SSS die which actually says "wishing' I just cut of the last part ... It's worth looking at your word dies and seeing how you can easily adapt them to fit into your sentiment ... I like to do that with stamps too ... take words from different sets to say what I want

My special needs group had their end of term disco last night ... I'm exhausted! Lol!
I'm getting too old to be dancing all evening!
I'm glad for the summer break ... it gives me a chance to think about projects for next term and I can relax a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by....Enjoy your upcoming weekend

Tag It

Hello ...

This is my second post today ... I don't usually post twice on CCCB day but I wanted to squeeze in a challenge ...

The lovely Kara Lynne has joined the DT over at

And though I don't often make tags - I really wanted to play along...
This is the inspiration tag

I just love the red and blue and that coil of twine ... Here's my take

I stamped and embossed a piece of CS in white and then sponged two different inks for the blue background. I had a little boat already cut out so I also sponged the sails and boat with inks too

A white gel pen added a little more interest ... The stamps I used are by WPlus9
In place of a coil of twine I used silver thread for waves and some craft rope for the hanger and finally backed it all onto a scrap piece of grey CS.

Ok that's all for now ...

Have a beautiful day/evening
