City Crafter 274

Hello!

I'm hosting the new challenge over at City Crafter today
For the challenge I have chosen a collage to inspire you which was created by the lovely

These image really captured my heart ... made me think of days gone by... British beaches, salty breezes, shell collecting and the muddy grey waters that often match the sky

The challenge is to create a card or project based on the photos
You can use any of the elements - Shells, houses etc, or maybe just pick out the colours or even create a beach themed project

Here's what I came up with

It kind of speaks for itself really....

Sponging, stamping... a little white paint smeared onto some torn DP

I got that little stone from my garden and coated it in glossy accents

For the next 3 weeks we are happy to welcome a Special Guest Designer to CCCB the talented Suchi ... Please click on her name to go visit her lovely blog...

I'm really looking forward to seeing your creations this week ... you always amaze me!
If you are looking for more inspiration go check out the rest of the projects by the City Crafter team Here

Have a lovely day

Herb

Good Morning!

Herb is the new prompt word over at
this morning - Picked for us by Kirsty

I have a few growing in the garden... This is the last of the Chives

I love onion and garlic so Chives fit perfectly into my lifestyle ... The flowers have died off and even they look pretty

On my windowsill I always have fresh basil

Another herb I use a lot ... It's wonderful in pasta and really compliments any tomato dish

Mint grows wild in the garden and there are a few varieties so I'm not sure which one this is but I put it with new potatoes
One other herb I love and use frequently is Rosemary

This grows in a tub in my garden ... Recently I came across a bread recipe on Pinterest
 Rosemary and Garlic Bread (Here

It turned out exactly like the photo and tasted wonderful ... I made it a few times and tried bread flour which worked perfectly - It's wonderful with cheese toasted on top too
For my UK friends - I don't have a "skillet" but I do have a heavy casserole dish that resembles a skillet and it worked perfectly... Give it a go
And do hop on over to Our Beautiful World Blog to see what my friends are sharing ... I hope you'll share with us too.

Have a beautiful day

True Friends and Happy Mail

Hello there...
It's a beautiful morning and the sun is shining at long last!

Today I have a card that I made for a friend's upcoming birthday and also some Happy Mail to share
Here's my card first

I love these pups from Avery Elle and they are so easy to fussy cut - I used ProMarkers to colour them

The sentiment is from a Christmas set from Wplus9 (Winter Pals) I love to mix and match and you can see I did a little sponging here too

The friend this is going to has a young dog called Stanley! I know she will appreciated this

On to my Happy Mail ... A beautiful card arrived from my sweet friend Sue Lelli

How gorgeous is this! Looks just like me too Lol!
Then just this morning I got a package from my dear friend Stella with another gorgeous card and prettily wrapped gifts

Want to know what's inside?

Gorgeous little wooden shapes!! Look at those little flip flops!!
I'm one lucky lady!

Thank you Sue and Stella ... One day the 3 of us will get together and it will be a blast!

Wishing you all a beautiful day

Till soon

Nature Speaks With Colour

Hello...

We haven't been able to sit out and enjoy the garden this summer ... Too much rain, cool temperatures and soon Autumn will be here...

The colours in my card are a mix of summer and autumn ... just a play with distress inks, gold pen ink and vellum...

These colours make me happy... I love their randomness and how they just flow into each other
The vellum dipped in gold ink reminds me of the crispness that Autumn brings

Maybe next month I'll take another trip to the beach, on the island I love so much... just to
feel the warmth of the sea breeze and gaze up at blue skies...

Have a happy day

City Crafter 273

Hello! How are you all?
Ready for a new challenge at City Crafter?

This week we have Kirsty hosting for us and the theme is
Snap

Create a card or project with a camera (can be patterned paper, die cut or embellishment)

Here's my card

I cut out a camera shaped card on the Silhouette and DP to cover the front, then made a sort of shaker lens sealing sequins between acetate

The camera card was adhered to the main card as you can see and the front lifts...

...to reveal the word smile which I cut several times, stacked them and then covered the main one in glossy accents

I also used some DP which has little white cameras on down the left side of the main card

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week ... Hop on over to the
to see what the rest of the team have to inspire you...

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for looking in

Stitch(es)

Happy Sunday and Happy August!

This week at Our Beautiful World we have the prompt
Stitch(es)
Picked for us by the lovely Mandy

This is a lovely make by my Aunt ... It's done with embroidery silks and it's my late GSD Holly
Here's a close up of those stitches

It's hard to photograph as it's in a glass frame but it's pretty amazing huh?
Here's one she did of a cat

I don't do a lot of sewing now but my earlier cards and crafts often featured sewing and stitches

And I think that's why I had to eventually get a new sewing machine!
Now I am addicted to stitched dies

creating faux stitches

We'd love it if you joined in with us this week ... hopefully you won't share anything too gory as in hospital stitches Lol!

Hop on over to the Blog to see what the rest of the team are sharing
And have a beautiful Sunday!
