World Card Making Day

Hello!

Ok, so it's world card making day and I wanted to participate and actually I did make a card but I can't share it yet because I'm worried my friend will see it here before her birthday ... plus it's too dark now to get a decent photo... I know I'm late!

Sooo... not sure if it counts but I can share a little peek at the project that I've been working on for my special needs group

It's a wall hanging, 3D plant pot sort of thing

They like to stick things, well, that's easy for them and for the support workers that come along with some of them...
There's lots for them to stick here ... it's taken me over 2 days so far to make enough pieces for 20+ people

I hope you are having a wonderful day or evening depending on where you are ...

Big hugs for now

I ♥ October

Good morning!

October is upon us and we've had the typical chilly and foggy mornings which have surprisingly turned into warm sunny days....
I like October ... It's kind of the lull before the storm when I can savour the last of the flowers, see the colours changing on the trees and take a breath before the Christmas rush starts....

Talking of rush, it was very busy at club last night and now I'm in the middle of a project for this week.  I did sneak some time out to make a little shaker box

Sometimes you just have to stop what you're doing and move on to something else

Use up some more of the little bits that accumulate everywhere

Have a peaceful day and enjoy this beautiful month

Till soon

Just Because

Hello friends

I think I've almost caught up with everything and even got my project for Thursday club sorted phew!
I spent a lovely afternoon with my friend Pat on Monday and we chatted, drank coffee and ate some of my homemade buns and of course did some card making...

Having seen These lovely cards on Danielle Flanders blog I was inspired to try out this technique and here's what I came up with

The flower stamp I used is an old one by American Crafts - and I used the umbrella die from Impression Obsessions

I'm loving the Label Maker Sentiments from MFT ... There are so many combinations you can come up with

You can just see that I put some black CS behind the front of the card and slightly offset the umbrellas just to give a little more definition and shadow

I hope your having a good day ... We had wonderful weather and it's set to last for a few more days yet

Thanks so much for stopping by

Till soon

City Crafter Challenge 281

Hello and good morning!
Can you believe this is the last challenge of September at City Crafter? Here we are already heading to October and the weather here has been so nice I'm still hanging on to the last of summer!

This week we have the talented Marina hosting our challenge with the theme
Geek Chic

Collage by Marina

The challenge is to create a card or project using the theme sci fi, science, technology or be inspired by the collage

I have to say that this did give me a bit of a headache, but hey it's a challenge right? I tried one idea first and wasn't keen on that so in the end this is what I came up with

Does it look like a cell phone? Well that's what it's supposed to be with a photo of Autumn colours

The photo was from my printshop program and I made the phone on my silhouette

Our Guest Designer this week is Padoriaa winner of challenge 273, She creates the most lovely shabby chic projects - click the link to be taken to her blog and see for yourself her lovely cards
As always we are offering a GD spot to our winner so come along and join us ... I'm dying to see what you clever crafters come up with.

I'm off to see what the rest of our team have to inspire you this week at City Crafter - Care to join me?

Have a beautiful day my friends

Our Beautiful World

Hello and Happy Sunday!

Our prompt this week at

Has been chosen for us by the lovely Mandy... The prompt is
"Bricks"

This is one of my lovely fuchsia plants against my brick wall that started out so tiny a few months ago and suddenly grew so big I had to put bricks under it...

And here's another pretty plant that likes to be against the brick wall keeping company with that lovely fuchsia

In my back garden I have a brick laid area too

Which looks colourful when there's been a rainfall as in this photo ... Can you see that birdhouse stand? Ginger cat uses it as a scratch post, hence the damage!

Finally I have a shot of a very old but still used railway station in Delamere Forest ... this station opened in June 1870

The bricks you see here are actually quarry stone or sandstone and the building houses a lovely tea shop where you can get tea served in a large china pot with fresh cream cakes and various other delights. It's a favourite place for travellers and people who want to walk through the forest or just stop to take refreshments.

I wonder what you will share with us this week ... Hop on over to the Blog to see what my friends are sharing

Have a lovely day

Back home and 70th Birthday

Hello there!

I'm back from holiday and happy to be home ... It was a lovely break and the weather was amazing but I missed my son, my cats and my creative space and I missed popping in to see you all and your creations... There's no place like home!

I have a card to share that I made for my husbands friend who celebrated his 70th whilst we were away

I cut the front on my silhouette and turned it into a shaker

I rarely share photos of myself but here are a couple taken from the chill out space on the top floor of our hotel - I've no doubt that once the colder weather takes hold here in the UK I will wish I were back there just chillin' and seeing that beautiful view as the sun dips over the mountians

I hope to catch up with you all soon

Wishing you a beautiful day
