Handmade Kindness - Light Up Pictures

Hello there...
If you are looking for my post on Our Beautiful World please scroll down...

I don't usually post twice on the same day but the lovely Jennifer McGuire is running a challenge called Handmade kindness... click the link and you can read all about it, basically it's about creating a little handmade something to give to family or friends

Last night I went to a surprise party for a friend from my old neighbourhood... She celebrates her 70th Birthday this week and believe me that lady doesn't look a day over 50!
We haven't see each other in a while and all my old friends from the neighbourhood were there ... Their children all grown up with children of their own... I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I didn't realise just how much I missed everyone and my old life till I was right back there...
I took a handmade gift for my friend who, I might add, was completely overwhelmed by the number of family and friends that came from near and far to show their love...

It's really hard to photograph but this is what I made

I created a scene with paints and added the cats... printed the verse onto acetate and then poked different size holes through my painted piece before placing it into the front of the frame

You need a shadow box frame to do this so you can add lights and they fit neatly into the back of the frame (held down by low tack tape) and then I used velcro to attach the switch on the outside like this...

I also made one for my sweet friend Pat who has been so wonderful, especially whilst I have been ill for some weeks...

These are my little acts of kindness for the friends I'm so blessed to have

Till soon

More Christmas Cards

Hello... How are you?

I'm sharing another set of cards using the cut out rectangle left over from These cards

The little house and the snowflake are by Simon Says Stamp and I used the cut out bits from those snowflakes ... they come out like tiny hearts

The lovely leaf die is by Paper smooches and the papers I used are from Me and My Big Ideas (Mambi) - I picked up this 12x12 pad at TK Max for £7.99

Here's a few of the cards together

I'm still not too well and have a course of tablets to take before I can have the bloods done ... I'm getting really fed up of feeling like this, hopefully things will improve soon...

Thanks for looking in on me
Have a lovely day

City Crafter 286

Good morning!

It may only be the beginning of November but Kirsty has us

"Getting Ready For Christmas"

For this week's challenge at City Crafter

We also have special Guest Designer for the whole month of November, the very talented Marcia Hill
Please click the link to go visit her blog where you will find the most loveliest of cards!

Here's my card for the challenge

The BG was done by sponging with my ink pads and spraying with water ... It reminds me of the Northern Lights

The sloped hill is from Lawn Fawn, the image from WPlus9 and the Merry Christmas die is by Simonsays Stamp... where the Wednesday challenge is "Anything Goes" so I'll be entering this card there too

Please hop on over to CCCB to check out the creations from the rest of the team and link up your creations with us this week...

Have a lovely day!

SimonSays Stamp & Lawn Fawn

Hello there...

I have to take DH to the eye specialist soon and I've been working on my special needs group project all day so this is just a quick post for the SimonSays Stamp Wednesday Challenge  which is an "Anything Goes" and they are featuring Lawn Fawn products

It just so happens that I made a whole batch of Christmas cards yesterday - One design, but using both the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies and the Tree and Snowflake from SimonSays Stamp

I even used the cut out bits from the trees ... The paper is a sheet from an old scrapbook pad by My Minds Eye

Those gorgeous sequins were a gift from my dear friend Stella ... They go perfectly with this paper
Here's a look at the whole lots of cards

Once everything was cut out, putting them together was so easy and quick... Of course I had the rectangle inserts left over and I made a batch of cards with them too which I'll share later in the week.

I hope you are having a good day ... I must dash

Till soon

Travel

Hello and welcome November!

I've chosen the prompt for this week at

The word is Travel

Maybe it will be by air

...To far away places

Maybe it will be in vintage style...

Sitting pretty in pink...

Perhaps this is more your style

How about a bus ride to Palma City?

A relaxing cruise somewhere

...Or a Saturday morning walk around the roman city of Chester

You could of course just share some of your travel destinations with us at

We'd love to see them...

Have a lovely day
