City Crafter 310

Hello!

I'm off on vacation today and so looking forward to some warm weather and plenty of rest

The new challenge at City Crafter today has been picked for us by Marina - The theme is
Feeling Prickly

Marina wants us to use something 'prickly' on your project i.e. a cactus, hedgehog, pins, fabric etc - check out the blog for full details...

I don't have any succulent stamps so I downloaded a colouring book image from the net and used my copics to make my card

It's different for me but I kind of like it

Our GD this week is the very talented Betty Wright I absolutely love her creations and I'm sure you will too ... click the link to go visit her and head on over to the City Crafter blog to see what the team are sharing this week

I'll be away until next week and I'll catch up with you then

Take care and big hugs

Clear & Sheer Day 3

It's me again -

Just popping in with another card I made for the Clear & Sheer online class ... Day 3 was about using acetate and the team gave some fine examples and tips ... I've used acetate many times with shaker cards and even as overlays but I find them so hard to photograph

Anyway, I didn't follow any of the design team samples but I was inspired by Debbie Hughes's card where she creates a scene on acetate and I also love Jennifer McGuire's card that she posted some time ago Here...

Here's my card

I have to confess when I was making this I was thinking of our little cat Gipsy who died a couple of weeks ago ...

After I made this card I noticed on Pinterest that a lady by the name of Deb Lancaster made a beautiful card using this design... It's really gorgeous.. You can see it Here

Ok, so I have packing to do ... A job I really do not like to do - I can never decide what to take

Have a beautiful day and I'll be back tomorrow with City Crafters

Our Beautiful World

Good Morning - Happy May!

Wen has picked the prompt for

This week it's "From a Low Angle"

A palm tree from a low angle - I love the textures here

We were just about to sail under this bridge in Lisbon when I spotted a train

Looking up at the glass cover balconies in La Coruna ... They do it to protect themselves from the wind that whips up from the sea ...We visited this place whilst on a cruising holiday and I have to say that other than the architecture there was little to offer here - Not a place I would wish to visit again that for sure

Ok... So I was going to go outside and do some shots in the garden but abandoned that idea and here's why

I did take a couple of shots from a low angle but through the window

This is May in the UK!

At least the flowers are loving the rain

Hop on over to Our Beautiful World to see what my friends are sharing this week

Have a great day

Clear & Sheer Day 2

Hello again...

Well, it's day 2 for me even if it's day 5 of the class...
So this lesson was about vellum techniques and I don't think I've ever tried to use copics to colour vellum ... It's kind of tricky as the ink stays on the top
Nevertheless I had a go and here's my card

I do however, love cutting out with vellum it's so easy -  For this card I used a Stampendous stamp together with a couple of leaf dies

The base of the flowers and leaves are anchored with double sided tape and the ribbon hides it - I also used a little glue here and there on the back of the flowers

Even though the colouring is not marvelous, I do like the result and would probably try this again
What do you think?

Have a great day and thanks so much for your visit

Clear & Sheer

Hi there ...

I decided to join in with the Sheer & Clear card class (a little late but no worries) ... I don't use vellum enough and also I thought watching a few classes would kick start my mojo ...Anyways, it's day 4 today and so far I only done 1 card - from day 1 Lol!
Attaching vellum

I just played around with some things that were on my desk after Pat came to play - Some very old paper that I have been hoarding from Basic Grey, a piece of vellum, a stamp and some die cuts

I used some tape and glue behind the leaves, the 'hugs' and the gem stones to secure my vellum - I couldn't decide if I like the paper behind the vellum or not so I went with a design that gives both

See that hugs die? Well I cut a few when I first got the die and promptly lost the die after that, never to be seen again...sigh
I've searched everywhere, under the cupboards and drawers, tipped out my bin 3 times and checked every packet of dies ... It's just vanished! Oh well, at least I made a card...

Till soon

A Little Watercolour

Hello...

It's taken me awhile to get back into creating again...Pat came to visit yesterday and I helped her to make a few cards then later I got around to doing a little watercolouring...Before I share my card I'd like to thank the ladies at Inkspirational for giving me a Top Pick some weeks ago for This card ... I'm really grateful

On to my card.....

I used a stamp from Wplus9 and Gansai Tambi paints to loosely  colour the embossed image
Stella brought me some lovely square stitched dies and I wanted to use them for this project

By partially cutting a large die I was able to create a folding card to mount the other 2 squares on and added a sentiment cut from glittered cardstock and some gems

It's so cold here right now... they've even forecast some snow...sigh
I should be getting out my summer clothes ready to pack but I just can't bring myself to do it yet - I mean you have to try on right? And I am not going to be parted from my thick jacket today! Lol!

Have a lovely day and I'll catch you soon
