City Crafter 311 and Blogger

Hello everyone
It's Kirsty's turn to host the challenge at City Crafter and this week she's given us the theme
Fairy Tale Land

Your project needs to include any element of  Fairy Tales e.g Princess, Pixie, Castle, Star etc.,

I went with a little fairy ... The kind you may find in your garden

I used a little cherub silhouette I had in my Cameo files and cut a butterfly for the wings
The paper is some I had been hoarding and I really need to get shot of that stack of papers!

I did a little stenciling and added glitter plus some sequins, the sentiment was part done on the computer and I cut out the word Wish and backed it in glitter CS

Our Guest Designer this week is Nela
Head on over to the blog to see what she has created for us and also what the rest of the team have come up with

Blogger.....

So did something happen whilst I've been away? I've been trying to catch up on comments and every time I am asked to prove I'm not a robot! I've no idea what some of them say as they are not in English so it's taken twice as long to translate them... Please let me know if you are all experiencing this...

Enjoy your day!

A bit of a let down

Hello there...

This post is really just about my holiday so please feel free to skip it if you wish - It's just easier for me to write a post than email those of you who ask how things went

So early last year we stayed in a gorgeous hotel in a part of Majorca called Camp de Mar - I loved everything about this place, and the location, even though the weather let us down. I really wanted to revisit it but DH suggested we try another hotel in the same area...One we had noticed it when we were there and to be fair, it did look inviting so I agreed.

Trying to organise the dates, flights etc., took me over 4 hours on the computer and before I clicked to book anything I got DH to sit with me and make sure I had the right Hotel etc., He assured me it was the right one and so we booked. We arrived in the evening and it was dark ... getting through security is another story but I'll save that one ... Anyway's... On arrival at our hotel, nothing looked familiar to me but it was late, I was tired and my head ached from listening to a child who screamed the whole flight. All would be better in the morning...

We woke to glorious sunshine and a beautiful blue sea - This was the view from our 9th floor room

I'd never noticed a little beach there before

Nothing looked familiar... where was the lovely square full of street cafes and shops and what are those buildings? I'd reasoned that were were facing a different direction in an older part of the hotel...But something wasn't right

Even so we decided to take the local bus to Andraxt market held once a week ... Except that there was no local bus... In fact we were miles away ... DH had got the wrong hotel and wrong place! We were in a place called Calvia and the only transport was a taxi ride which was 25 euros each way...
Shamefaced DH agreed to pay so that at least we could have a good day, and it was. It was warm and sunny and by late afternoon the sun still shone though it was cool as we took a stroll

I decided to make the most of things and planned to relax around the pool with a good book for the rest of the week, even booked a boat trip - but the weather had other ideas

Down came the rain and the wind whipped up the sea... It was sooo cold
We took taxis to other more sheltered places that were at least a little warmer

Even though the beaches were empty, we warmed up with coffee

 And the boat trip?

Was I glad I had taken my raincoat!

To be continued ... sometime

Have a good day

Our Beautiful World

Hello!

I'm away on vacation so I scheduled this post for

 Our Beautiful World

Ariadne has picked the prompt Ceramics

Over the years I visited Cyprus a number of times ... I was even married there. They like many places abroad have a huge selection of ceramics and I brought many bits and pieces home ... In the days when baggage did not have weight restrictions....

These planters I photographed in Andalucia and I have some in my garden ... Many of the ceramics I bought have cracked and broken over the years and here are two from Cyprus that my husband refuses to part with

They remind him of Cyprus and the Keo beer that he loves
Me? I just love the colours in ceramics

Have a beautiful Sunday

Double D Challenge

Hello and Good Morning!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at

Diane's team are hosting and the theme is Mother's Day / Happy Birthday

Here's the beautiful inspiration board

Mother's day in the UK has already passed and I no longer have my Mum so I made a birthday card for a friend - Inspired by those beautiful tulips

I stamped and hand cut the tulip heads, coloured them with Copics and smothered them in glossy accents... cut strips for stems and then coloured them too

The little white stems were cut on my Cameo and I made a little bouquet to frame.

My friend loves red so this is perfect for her...

We have such a talented group of designers at Double D so please hop on over to see what they have created and link up with us for a chance to win another lovely gift.

I'm away on vacation so I am taking a blog break until next week...

Thanks so much for your visit and take care

Hugs

City Crafter 310

Hello!

I'm off on vacation today and so looking forward to some warm weather and plenty of rest

The new challenge at City Crafter today has been picked for us by Marina - The theme is
Feeling Prickly

Marina wants us to use something 'prickly' on your project i.e. a cactus, hedgehog, pins, fabric etc - check out the blog for full details...

I don't have any succulent stamps so I downloaded a colouring book image from the net and used my copics to make my card

It's different for me but I kind of like it

Our GD this week is the very talented Betty Wright I absolutely love her creations and I'm sure you will too ... click the link to go visit her and head on over to the City Crafter blog to see what the team are sharing this week

I'll be away until next week and I'll catch up with you then

Take care and big hugs
