Our Beautiful World

The prompt this week at Our Beautiful World is

Outside

It may be mid winter but there are a few things stirring in the garden outside... If you look closely, there are signs of new beginnings

Amid the remnants of Autumn, daffodil shoots are appearing...

And in the dull and drab coat that January wears, a little colour struggles to survive the cold and rain

Every morning I come outside to feed the birds and they wait patiently

Calling out when breakfast is served

I don't have a fancy camera... Just a little digital that I grab when I can and shoot on zoom through my window, and I was happy to at least get a shot of the new squirrel babies that use the trees as an outside playground

They are so quick!

In a few weeks I'm hoping to see greener outside, daffodils swaying in the breeze and Spring on the horizon...

Double D Challenge and I've a Winner

Good morning!

The One Year celebrations are still going on for the next fortnight at Double D challenges and we hope you'll join in the fun!

The new challenge is being hosted by Dar's team and I'm joining in too. There are lots of prizes to be won both on the Double D blog and the team blogs so head on over for full details and of course to see all the beautiful creations both teams have created for this challenge

Black and White

I actually did 2 cards - This is the one up on the blog

I sketched some trees and this time I used just a variation of black and white paint to do some shading and then over stamped and embossed with an old stamp from Inkylicious

The second card is just a really quick and simple one

Just stamping and some washi tape... A requirement for the challenge at

Where I'll be entering my card

And before I go I can announce the winner of my blog prize from our last challenge

The winner is........

JUDY WOODLAND

Well done Judy ... Please email me with your address and I'll get your dies off to you!

Wishing you all a lovely day!

City Crafter 345

Hello there ...

We're already halfway through January and the sales are still going here in the UK so Marina's challenge to us this week at City Crafter is very apt
The theme is "Sale Now On"

Marina is asking that we create a project using a shopping theme or anything inspired by the photo

I had to have to have a good think about this one... Here in the UK we are know for our buy one, get one free' offers and that was the basis of my card ... Two mice for the price of one!

This is all digitally done and I just coloured the images with Copics

We still have the talented Danielle Guesting with us and the winner of this challenge will also be offered a Guest Spot here at City Crafter, so get your thinking caps on and come and join us this week.

If like me you need inspiration then hop on over to the Blog to see what the team have come up with...
I'm looking forward to seeing your creations

Have a great day

Bicycle

Good morning...

This week's prompt at Our Beautiful World is

Bicycle

Whilst on holiday last year I spotted these gorgeous bicycles at the entrance to a hotel, I took the shots with my phone so they aren't marvellous

But I would love a bicycle like this

Not that I would ever cycle on our roads .. It's just too dangerous here with so much traffic
Not so when I was a child, I cycled everyday and here's a photo of me with my first two wheeler

The eagled eyed amongst you will notice that it wasn't new and it has a crossbar... It was my older brothers' bicycle and I was thrilled when it came to me

I even have a canvas in my bedroom with a bicycle on...

Hop on over to Our Beautiful World Blog to see what the rest of the team are sharing, we would love it if you linked your Bicycle photos too

Have a wonderful day

Friday the 13th

Good morning!

Firstly let me start off by saying a huge Thank you for all your birthday wishes, your messages and your gorgeous handmade cards AND the many gifts I received yesterday...

I'm quite overwhelmed... 33 cards arrived, and flowers? Take a look

I have a whole bunch of Thank you cards to make, that's for sure! What a brilliant day, finished of with an evening out with my son and husband at a local Greek restaurant...

Now it's friday13th, I don't usually think much about the superstition surrounding that, but when I went for my shower this morning the heating was off... I've no idea why, it did come on later. Then I was downloading my photos and inadvertently put my my SD memory card into the wrong slot on my Mac so began a major operation to get it out again. Thank goodness for those forums! Then I somehow managed to delete one of my files... Lol! Maybe I should pay more attention...

Just to finish I have another bird card I sketched and painted

My DH bought me an artist travel set for my birthday! Yay! That's going to be very useful

I hope your day goes well... Thank you all once again for making my day so special

Hugs

Sketchy Trees

Good morning...

Got some of my sketchy trees for you today with some random watercolour

I'm longing to see some colour on our trees ... There are a few catkins about but otherwise everything is dull so I'm making my own colour

See I'm branching out? Haha!  I'm trying to draw branches onto my trees now... Everything is a tiny step but I'm having fun and that's what it's all about huh?

Speaking of which, Pat's coming over in a few hours and we' can play all afternoon

Enjoy your day!
