City Crafter 352

Hello there...

This week's challenge at City Crafter is hosted for us by Kirsty - The theme is
Tutti Frutti

'Create a project that includes a fruit'

I don't make many cards with fruit on them ... It's not really the kind of card we Brits send each other I suppose, fortunately I did have a pineapple stamp and die that came free with a magazine so here's my card

The flowers were part of a digital image that I separated from the full image which allowed me to play around and group them the way I wanted. I then printed, coloured and fussy cut them before adding glossy dimensional.

I stamped, cut and coloured the pineapple, then I sponged and splattered a base to mount it on together with the flowers before stamping my sentiment

Our team have more inspiration up on the blog for you - Do go take a look

Have a wonderful day!

Double D Challenge - Think Spring

Hello
Welcome to March and happy St David's day!

Today it's the turn of Team Diane to host the challenge at Double D

And with Spring approaching, the challenge is Think Spring

Just look at that lovely tile board

Here's my card...

I wanted to make a card that showed flowers sprouting up around the base of a tree... I have a few stamps with flowers but I didn't have a suitable tree stamp so again I drew one after masking off the front flowers

This is all done with watercolours and once again I added some texture to the tree by scraping it with a craft knife and I had to mask it to stamp the second set of flowers

I pondered abut maybe adding a butterfly but in the end I just left it alone

Both teams have created lovely cards to inspire you up on the blog and here's the prize on offer for this challenge

Cute huh?

We're looking forward to seeing your entries... Have fun!

City Crafter 351

Good morning!

Marina has picked this week's challenge at City Crafter and the theme is
'Hygge'

" Hygge is a Danish term for creating a cozy atmosphere and enjoying the simple things in life with good people around you.
Create a project that captures the spirit of hygge, or take inspiration from the photo."

The wooden surface in this photo caught my eye and had a notion to make a card that featured a mug similar to the pottery in the photo on a wooden surface ... I didn't own a mug or cup stamp so I just drew one

...coloured it with Copics then added dimensional gloss to give it a glazed look and used a white gel pen for steam

For the wooden surface I printed one of my digital papers, cut the shape I wanted and drew some lines  then aged it by scratching my craft knife over the surface

The BG was sponged, the sentiment was computer generated and I added just a little sprig that was left over from my Christmas cards...
Sometimes my ideas work and sometimes they don't .. Thankfully it did in this case

I can't wait to see what you come up with ... I'm off to the City Crafter blog to see what the rest of our team have created for this challenge, you're welcome to join me

Have a lovely cosy day

Just saying Hi

Hello... How are you?

Storm Doris came and went leaving a trail of destruction and wet and windy weather still ... Lots of trees have been brought down and I am amazed and thankful that the ones surrounding my home are all still intact and we are safe.
I've had no inspiration at all this week, so this afternoon I pulled out all those scraps I hoard and still only made made one card

I thought I'd enter it at AAA Cards Challenge

It wasn't meant to be a St Patrick's card but it could be - There's lots of green including a watercolour background

I think I'll just give up and go put a movie on ... DH is at the match, tea, chocolate and a movie sounds good to me...

Enjoy your day

City Crafter 350

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter and this week the lovely Stella is hosting for us
Her challenge theme is
"A Few Stitches"

Stella is asking that we use stitching on our projects by using stitched dies or faux stitching

I pulled out a piece of CS that I had sponged and embossed but never used - I wasn't happy with the colours at the time

...But with my stitched square dies (a gift from Stella) together with a stitched banner die I had, I made them work by breaking up the colours into frames

I also came across some of those epoxy sticker hearts hiding in my stash and together with a little die cut leaf, they were perfect for the design I had in mind

I'm delighted to say that we have the lovely and very talented Marie from Baileyrosy blog as our GD this week...Marie hails from my home town even though she now lives in Greece... Do hop on over to her Blog and take a peek at her lovely creations

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week, I hope you'll join us and if you need more inspiration, go visit CCCB to see what the rest of the team have created.

Have a beautiful day

Robin and cards

Hello there ... I hope you had a good weekend

I thought you'd like to see one of the many robins that wait for me to put the seed out each morning

A couple of years ago we had them nesting in the garden, maybe they will come back this year

I also have a few more of the cards I made with my scraps and some hand drawn pots...

The weather hasn't been very conducive to taking photos, it took me several goes to get something that looked half decent

I can't wait for brighter weather... It started out lovely early this morning but now it's dull damp and very windy

Official Spring Time is 26th March here ... Well it can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for popping in ... Have a lovely day
