Updates

Good morning!
I hope this finds you well....

It's been almost a week since I posted due to my computer being updated. I love my desk top Mac but the system was old and over time I found less programs supported it... Time for a change and thank goodness for my amazing son Mikey. He spent days backing up everything and installing a new up to date system for me. Then it meant reinstalling and navigating my way around the new system....There were a few hiccups but I'm getting there.

I haven't been idle though, I picked up my crochet hooks and made a few things

A sweet owl baby

Isn't he adorable?

The pattern for this came from Here and there are alternatives using the basic 'doll' pattern which I hope to make too

I also made this one which I call Little Ant

I didn't have a pattern for this... I just improvised

And I used up some odd wool to make a little owl bag...

...Using a pattern from Here

It's just wonderful that people share their videos, patterns and talent so that people like me can actually learn 'how to'

In addition to these I've packed up 3 projects for next term at Thursday Club, so no slacking here Lol!

Pat is coming over in a few hours so we will be pulling out the papercrafting stuff...

Sending you warm wishes for a beautiful day

Anniversary Card

Hello... How are you?
I can't believe another week has flown by... I was up early this morning to take my DH to hospital for his scan appointment and somehow I just can't get myself into the daily routine...

I've spent the past few days making projects for next term at Thursday Club and I guess I'm just a little tired.
Today's card is made up of some of my scraps...

Last week I did a card using the tissue paper technique (Hereand I had a big old heart left over so I pulled out my box of other left overs and found the centre from another heart I'd used way back in May and surprisingly they went quite well together

I even managed to cut out the word 'love' from my left over... I added a die cut frame and printed a piece of cardstock with a digital paper called Cashmere - a sort of pale grey colour.

A few sequins and my card is complete and ready to mail to some friends who are celebrating a wedding anniversary in a few days.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, thanks so much for your visit

CAS Watercolour Challenge Guest Designer

Hello and good morning!

I'm delighted to say that I am guesting this month at

I was so thrilled to be asked by the lovely ladies and jumped at the chance!

The challenge this month is to use Salt

I had never tried this before but I'm always up for a challenge and eager to learn new techniques...
Here's the finished result of my first attempt

I painted a piece of ordinary white cardstock with Gansai Tambi paints, randomly added table salt, let it dry and then brushed it away...
The result looked to me like a cold winter's night, trees with snowflakes coming down

So I thought it would be fun to add a little fox (a die gifted to me by my lovely blog friend Greta)

It's such a fun technique and the team have some amazing creations to inspire you up on the blog... Hop on over and take a peek ... We'd love it if you linked up Salt Watercolour creations too

Have a wonderful day!

Why didn't I think of that?

That's the thought that came into my head when I saw this card by Shari Carroll...
I mean I've stencilled with hearts, balloons, clouds and various other things that I've cut from my dies, but never thought to do one with my frame dies... Sheesh!

Anyway I rectified that today... I needed a birthday card for my husbands DIL Hannah and I don't think she's a "flowers and hearts" girl so I thought this would be better

Actually she's an architect by profession so maybe she will appreciate the geometric like design... Either way I enjoyed making this.

I opted to keep it pretty clean and just stamped and embossed the MFT flowers and leaves.. Deciding on where and how to put the sentiment took a little longer but eventually I kept that pretty simple too with a non fussy sentiment on vellum that still allows the design to show through

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday... We are due more rain today but I'm not complaining, it's not been a bad summer at all and I much prefer the cooler temperatures.

Till soon, be safe

Tissue Paper Technique

Hi there...

Well Pat and I had a lovely afternoon yesterday and one of the things we decided to try was the tissue paper technique using watercolours.
Having let my piece dry over night, I made a card this morning which I had intended to enter at CAS Mix Up but I missed the deadline...

Anyway here's my card

I'm really pleased at how well the technique worked out ... Here's a closer look at the texture the tissue paper gives

This card is heading on over to The Netherlands... A little Thank You note to Stella and her family for all they did for us.

I'll definitely have a go at this technique again, it's the kind of thing you can do when you don't have inspiration but want to play...

Before I go, many thanks to all of you who sent well wishes for my cat Ginger.. He is much better and though he wouldn't eat the prescription wet food, he has taken to the prescription dry food so I feel a weight has lifted and I'm hopeful he will stay well. Now if only I could find a cure for my eczema, the itch drives me insane!

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for your visit

Oh Groningen...

Hello there!
I hope you are all doing okay?

Well, I did mean to post yesterday and wish my lovely friend Stella a very

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Thing was, we only arrived home on Monday evening after spending 4 nights in The Netherlands, Stella's home city of Groningen to be exact... And I was totally exhausted!

We had the most amazing time with Stella and her family

Here we are having dinner with Stella, her lovely husband Marcel and their youngest son (my second son) Martijn. Some of you may remember that Martijn spent 6 months here in Liverpool at our University and we became very close...

I will share more photos of our trip once I've had time to sort them ... My goodness, they took us just about everywhere and we LOVED The Netherlands!

For now I'll share the card I made for Stella

A watercolour BG with some of the dies also cut from my watercoloured pieces

For the first time I was able to deliver this personally, even though her actual birthday was the day after we left

I'm aware that I have a ton of catching up to do, but Pat will be here in a few hours so it may be later in the week...

Have a great day!

Till soon
