Monday Blues

Hello... How was your weekend?
We've had lovely weather, too hot even for Ginger cat!

It's Bank Holiday monday here in the UK and a beautiful sunny day which is rare -Bank holidays here are usually reknowned for rain.
What a morning it's been so far...My car wouldn't start so I had to call the RAC out... Thing is I haven't driven it in months - My son usually drives it to keep things turned over but seemingly not enough to keep the battery charged or the mileage up for the warranty to apply so I had to buy a new one. Then as the guy tested everything one of the cables on the window snapped so I now have to get that repaired.
My curious cats kept climbing in the RAC van and I had to keep chasing them whilst pretending to understand all the technical talk the RAC guy was giving me.

Whilst all this was going Hubby took a call from our family in Cornwall to say that his 2nd cousin who has the rare cancer, is not doing well at all. His immune system has now collapsed so he can't have Chemo. It's so upsetting... He's such a lovely guy.

I bless the fact that I can lose myself in crafting at times and I have a card to share with you that was mostly made from scraps

The butterflies were cut from left over pieces of watercolour BG's I did last week and the frames were cut from scraps of CS

Actually there wasn't enough to properly cut 3 butterflies but by overlapping the missing parts I got around that

My scrap cards almost always turn out better than the others for some reason... Lol!

Ok, I'm off to get some lunch for hubby and I so I'll wish you a lovely day

Hugs

CAS Watercolour Challenge

Good morning...

I have a card to share that I am entering at

Normally I keep my colours pretty subdued, mostly greens and blues but this lovely weather has turned my head and today it's a bright watercolour done with Gansai Tambi paints

As a rule I prefer to paint on ordinary cardstock as it gives (to me anyway) a brighter finish and that's what I went with here... I lightly spray the CS first and then let the colours flow

I also use my heat gun both on the back and the front to keep it from curling - works for me anyway.

My paints have had a good work out this week Lol!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, thanks for stopping by

Happy Friday!

Hello... The bank holiday weekend is almost here and the weather forecast looks good!

I finished the bees for my group...

...And they will be assembelling them next week - Pat did a project for last night and it was hectic!

I also found time yesterday to make a few cards... There are a lot of birthday's this month and one of them is my great nephew Ross who will be 16... 16!!! Where did the years go? I don't get to see him much now, I guess with him living in a different part of the country and getting that much older, staying with his grandparents isn't that cool any more...
What kind of card do you make for a 16 year old boy? I turned to the internet for a photo and came up with this

I printed the car out and then cut his name into it using my Cameo...

...Popped up his name and added some liquid pearls, a sentiment and a star
I was kind of pleased with how it turned out.
I pulled out my paints too and made a few background pieces which I made into cards... I'll share them in the next few days. Yesterday was a good day!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and the sun shines on us all!

Till soon

Card cakes and frog

Hello and happy Monday!

What a busy time we've had...Hubby's daughter got married on Saturday and at least the rain held off even though it was very cold. I don't know about global warming, but here in Liverpool it seems to have had the opposite effect! Still we survived what was a very stressful day for both of us...

Thank you to the team at CAS Watercolour Challenge for my Outstanding Design award... That was lovely to wake up to and today I just have a few odds and ends to share.

Firstly a quick card for I made for my Friend Sue Lelli who recently celebrated her 60th Birthday

Same BG as I did in a previous card but this time I overlaid it with acetate on which I had stamped and embossed

And hubby wanted me to share the apple pastries I made for him

And just in case you're wondering, The half eaten one next to them is a cherry bakewell I made

I just love almond anything!

Finally, this is the prototype of the frogs my special needs group will be assembling

He's made with flower pots and a few other bits and pieces. They will also be making a frog slider card to go with this and right now I'm on to making 25 bees using plant pots. I managed to get some striped fabric to cut out and sew 25 dresses for them so I'd better get on with it.

Here's hoping that May will be a good month and bring us some warmer weather

Enjoy your week

Starry Card

Hi there...

This is such a busy week... We have appointments everyday, sometimes more than one!

In between I'm getting ahead on my club projects and there are frogs everywhere... Not real ones I have to say... I've prepared frog slider cards and a happy little frog made from a plant pot too. Anyway, I thought I'd take a little break from those guys and post a card I made last week which I'm saving for my brother's birthday next month...

This is the first time I've used this stamp set from Hunkydory and it was just a matter of ink blending with stamping and embossing

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of printed wood effect CS and embossed it in my gold and silver mix, however it really didn't show up very well so I placed it back into my Misti and stamped again with black Versafine and I loved the result. It created a shadow effect that looks like the words are burnt into the wood...

Since I last posted we have had rain, rain rain... The cats are miserable and I can't say I blame them but on the upside, my back is so much better and I feel great!

Have yourselves a lovely day

Blooming Flowers

Hello!

Oh my goodness, we've had some beautiful summer weather these past few days andwhat a difference it makes...
Everything seems to be awakening and my lilac tree this year is showing signs of being full of blooms. Last year I only got one... One!

So whilst my kitties are enjoying the sunshine and my hubby is painting his shed, I can share another card with you

I'm trying to get ahead with birthday cards and I picked up this stamp in a sale recently, well, it's a set by Woodware,  the main stamp being the flowers

To add a little interest I did cut a triangle shape through it and popped it up

I'm also trying to get ahead with projects for the Thursday group - It was so busy last week and they are getting real quick at putting things together now. I have at least an hour to fill for 30 people which is no easy feat especially when I have to cut out all the bits for them so any suggestions would be welcome Lol!

I hope you enjoy your weekend and that the sun pays you a visit too

Take care
