CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hello there, I hope you are well...

Today's card is for the CAS Watecolour Challenge.

Being on a CAS team means I'm not eligible to win but I still like to challenge myself when I can and this past week I've had little time, believe it or not I've spent days putting Ikea furniture together.
There was a time that I could easily get up and down and into small spaces and though my brain thinks I still can, my body doesn't agree Lol!
So I took some time out yesterday and made a card instead.

The little mushrooms are from an Avery Elle Christmas set (Gnome for Christmas) and I have to say that I've used this set so many times - The stamps are so versatile for all year use
I stamped, embossed and painted using distress inks
The butterfly is from a Woodware stamp set and the sentiment is an Aliexpress purchase
I've also been doing a little sketching when I have time... It's been ages since I picked up my pencil and tried my hand at it... I'm not that good but I try

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for popping in

Cas Mix Up Challenge

Hello and welcome to February...
The month of love, one step nearer to Springtime and the start of a new challenge at the
This month Joanna is our host and Ina is our month long Guest Designer.
Joanna has picked a super challenge for us... Stencils from die cuts and there are videos up on the blog to guide you along if you have never tried this

It's a great way to get more out of your dies and fun to do

I die cut a floral frame from a scrap of card to use as my stencil, taped it down onto another piece of card and pounced some distress inks onto it.

It makes a great backdrop for those reeds... Can you tell I'm dreaming of warmer days Lol!
Yeah, that would make me smile.

The team have created some amazing card to inspire you... Go take a peek.
We'd loved you to play along with us, just remember your cards need to be Clean and Simple

Have a beautiful day

Celebrate

Hello...
The weekend went fast didn't it?And here we are only a few days before we welcome February.
A good friend of my DH celebrates his Golden Wedding Anniversary next weekend and we've been invited to a celebratory lunch with them. I was wracking my brain to come up with a card for them and then a new stamp arrived and that was my starting point

Colouring on vellum is not something I do very often and I kind of like non traditional cards (guess you've noticed that) But colouring on vellum is what I did...

With my new stamp by Woodware. I've quite a few of their stamps and I love them. You can no doubt see that I used that stencil AGAIN! Ha! I love it.
The little birdies were cut from a scrap piece of alcohol inked Yupo. A few more bits and bobs and then a surprise pop up on the inside...

okay, so it took me all day but I had fun and I just hope they like it.

Have a great day

Upcycle/Recycle 2

Welcome to Friday!

Another dull and gloomy day over here, Gingerboy is keeping me company in my craft room, bless

I said I would share a couple more cards, using bits from the shop bought ones I received so here we are...

On my desk I had a bluebell (from a Clearly Besotted set) which I'd stamped, painted and die cut so I fussy cut a butterfly from one of the cards and added a black glittery body to it using a Memory Box die. The inside of one card was in a similar shade to the butterfly so I die cut the trellis for my little flower

I didn't bother with a sentiment yet - I just like the simplicity of this.

For the next card I just used part of the front design that covered the shop card, showing the pretty geraniums

Although it's not clear on the photo, the image is sparkly and I punched out a little heart from another sparkly piece

My favourite thing is putting bits together to create cards, hence the reason I keep so many pieces around lol!

Have a wonderful weekend

Till soon

Upcycle/ Recycle

Hi there...

I had lots of lovely cards sent to me for my birthday earlier this month, the majority of which were shop bought and didn't want to just dispose of them but you can only keep so much right? So yesterday I spent some time cutting bits and bobs that I could reuse. I never know if it's called recycling or up-cycling but whatever... I made 5 cards together with a few new craft goodies I got recently.

The main panel on this card started life as a gift card holder (from M&S). It was just too pretty not to make use of

One of my recent purchases was the 'Special' die and sentiment set by Gemini - there are 14 sentiments in the set and a bargain at just over £5. I also picked up a new IndigoBlu stencil (basket weave) which I wanted to try and I love it!

It made a great panel for the recycled bits to which I added a button, twine and shadowed the word die by cutting it twice, once in black and again in white

And then there was this little mouse that captured my heart...

I couldn't let him go could I?

I'll share the others later in the week

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for popping in

Watercolour Echinaceas

Hello, how are you?

It's a cold and misty morning here but hopefully the sun may put in an appearance later.

I have another birthday card to share with you, using a stamp by Woodware that I've had for awhile but never used - Achinaceas

The bee is from another set, stamped painted and fussy cut with a little bit of sparkle

I've struggled to get decent photos lately due to the weather conditions but I'm not complaining, we've been very lucky so far, no snow or ice.

The sentiment is stamped and clear embossed but doesn't show up too well here either.

Have you any plans for today? Whatever you do have a lovely Sunday

Till soon
