Jingle Belles Vintage Christmas

When you create does your mood dictate your choice of colours and textures ... or maybe even your style? What do you imagine when you think of vintage?

Today I got to catch up with the challenge at Jingle Belles ... which is to make a vintage Christmas card ... I never have a picture in my head ... I play about with things ... go with what I am feeling ...
I wanted some music paper in there ... that always says vintage to me ... turned out my music got kinda covered by the other paper choices I made ... I wanted lace, but ended up with pompom trim ... I was going to add holly and berries ... but I made a ribbon rosette and added a white flower ... But glitter ... well at least that got in there and was not covered over ...

Judging by my work table and the floor ... you'd think I'd made at least 10 cards ... not just one ...
But I'm content with it ... guess that's what matters

Have you started your holiday cards yet? It's kind of hard to get into Christmas mode for me ... but I'm trying ...

Have a lovely Sunday

  3. Dripping with vintage and I love it. The image of Santa is my fave part of the card; I have a place in my heart for a "vintage Santa". And I love that little red splash you added with the sentiment. You nailed the challenge in a GORGEOUS and fabulous way! Have a great eveing!

  17. How lovely! You know most people stick to green, gold, and red for Christmas cards, but I find the white and vintage colors more appealing myself. This is just beautiful Ros. Hugs!

  20. HA!!! of course i *KNEW* you would rock this beyond all belief and you sooooo totally have! every single element is perfectly chosen, considered and placed... everything adds up to not just a completely authentic vintage feeling but a ♥♥♥BEAUTIFUL♥♥♥ finished card... i just cannot imagine changing ANYTHING... this thing really is just about PERFECT, isn't it?! (WOW!) ♥

ps: looooooove having a glimpse into your "process"!!! i'm glad i'm not the only one who meanders along that sort of creative road occasionally... as for how much stuff one gets out, i feel SO "validated"!!! my mess from last night looks as if i could have made a lifesized papier mache giraffe rather than a 6x6 card!!! ♥♥♥
