Just a Beach

Hello...
Did you have a good weekend?
We had a very wet day here yesterday ... Not much to do but take it easy...
DH watched golf on TV and I played with some paints...

I did another beach scene ... something that's been going around in my head

I painted the scene using distress inks on watercolour CS ... again I used some art masking fluid to expose some white in the 'sea' then I did some experimenting

First I smeared VersaMark onto the sea part and embossed in clear EP to give it that 'wet' look ... Then I pulled out Fluffy Stuff  by Woodware to get that foam

The little boat was from a free colouring page on the web and I just resized it - printed and painted it and cut it out...
The marks you can just make out in the 'sand' were done by putting some paint on a piece of corrugated CS and dabbing it down ... the dark specks are distress EP sprinkled over a light touch of glue ...

The little green netting under the boat is a piece of old scrunchy - the kind you use in the shower - I painted it too and the tiny pieces of wood were just snapped from a wreath I have
So there we are and even though I think it's kinda cute I'm going to enter it at

And I see I can enter it at
Anything But A Card

Seeing as how this is going on my wall ...

Right I'm off to the hospital today to see my dermatologist so I'll catch you tomorrow
Have a great day and thanks for looking in on me

  3. Holy wowsers Ros!! I just completely melted when I saw your beach scene! There are so many creative bits included, I just love all the effects you achieved! The subtle lines in the sand you made with corrugated cardboard, and the embossing powder to make the water look wet really helped to create a realistic and dreamy beach! I want to jump inside your scene and have a little vacation!
