Robin in the snow

Hello ...

The sun is shining but it's still cold here and temperatures are expected to drop to minus 6°C...

I've been out buying food for the birds and squirrels to keep them going through this cold weather and as it happens I have a little painting to share of a robin in the snow

I hand drew this little one and yep, it took me a while to get it right ... I'm not that marvellous at drawing but I'm trying to improve

I have a fondness for line drawing with loose watercolour and that's just what this is ... Very loose, done with Gansai Tambi paints

Though I make these into cards ... I can't bear to part with my first attempts so I may have to frame them

I hope you are enjoying your day and I'll be back tomorrow for the City Crafter Challenge

Be safe

  2. Oh, you did a wonderful job drawing the beautiful robin! Lovely background and branch, too! I do like love watching the birds out my kitchen window! I miss seeing the cardinals, but I did see a blue jay last week.

  5. You can add another skill to your long list of talents; your drawing is stunning. I am in awe... This card reminds me of a card you sent me a few years ago. Also with a robin. And this is a jaw dropper. Frame it and keep it; wow!
It's cold here; at this very moment already minus 3...brrrrr. Stay warm dear!

  8. Just lovely! You did a great job drawing and water coloring. Though somehow the little bird looks like he's freezing - which wouldn't be surprising at minus 6°C!

  9. Amazing! I thought "ooh, I'd love to have that stamp", but nooOOOooo! You're getting so good at your drawing, Ros! I love the loose watercolor look and one needs an image with wide-open lines like this to be able to enjoy it. Many of my stamps are too detailed for this kind of painting. You did such a beautiful job and I adore it. The simple branch is the perfect embellishment.

  12. WOW WOW WOW!!! Ros I am just so impressed with your talent for drawing, this birdie image has stolen my heart today! I love the expression on his face, so gentle and sweet. I love to hear people feeding the birds the squirrels, this is such a hard time of year for them and they need a little help from us!! You should definitely keep this one in a frame for sure, a real work of art!! hugs :)
