CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hello!

I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing this month at the

Who just happened to be celebrating their 3rd Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I am not a watercolour artist by any means but entering here has shown me so many ways to use my paints in the simplest of ways...

This months challenge is to use a Maple Leaf

Here's my card

It's a simple one layer card using an old (but favourite) Kaisercraft french postal stamp which I masked off either side before stamping and then added touches of gold leafing here and there

I wanted the maple leaf to be the rich red of Autumn and I achieved that by
painting layers of red, orange and yellow (using Gansai Tambi paint) on a piece of white card till I got a really good depth of colour. I dried in between a few times with a heat gun and then die cut the leaf.
I also added touches of gold leafing and a few drops of Mod Podge dimensional to the leaf.

To compliment the gold leafing I stamped and gold embossed my sentiment.
The team would love you to join in with their birthday celebrations this month and if you are looking for inspiration, do pay a visit to the blog...

Have a wonderful day

  1. Congratulations on being GD this time Ros and so well deserved as your cards are always so eyecatching and this is no exception. I just love the postage franking and Eiffel Tower stamp in the background and the maple leaf is bright and colourful over the top, also the gold leafing and gold embossed sentiment look great too and finish it so prettily. x
