Hello there...Welcome to April
I hope you are keeping well during these worrying times.
As always the CAS MixUp has a new challenge for you chosen by Loll
If you are unsure about this technique, please check out the videos up on the blog as well as the terrific examples by the team and this month's wonderful guest Designer
Okay on to my card...
This is not a technique I've done before but I'm always up for a challenge ... I started by randomly stamping and embossing the leaves onto black card, then poured some household bleach into a little jar, took a small paintbrush and just 'painted' the leaves
The effect is really amazing... Rememer you need to do this in a ventilated area if you have strong bleach like me.
The little butterfly was fussy cut from a shop bought card - I was sending this as a sympathy card and it seemed appropriate.
Now that most of us are restricted to being at home, it's the perfect opportunity for you to play along, create something beautiful in a not so beautiful world and have fun
Be safe out there my friends
~ Ros ~
That really is an interesting technique and probably works best on black? It's very soothing somehow and therefore very appropriate. And yes, let's look at the positive things that come from the current situation: more time to craft! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteNow this is different for you Ros..very nice though and very expensive looking too.An ideal sympathy card. xx
ReplyDeleteJust BEAUTIFUL Ros! So striking on the black cardstock and I love how you repurposed the butterfly from a store bought card! Lovely, lovely card!! :0)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Ros, I love how the leaves have turned out. Perfect backdrop for that pretty butterfly xx
ReplyDeleteI have been admiring this Ros and I'm delighted to finally see how you did it! Love the look of the leaves when bleached! It uncovered different tones of lighter color and the white butterfly makes a gorgeous contrast! A beautiful card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the leaves are softly bleached and not too stark Ros, and the embossed die frame is beautiful, and what a great idea to take the black layer to the edge of the card over the embossed frame for a different look, and finished with a very pretty gold and white butterfly. A great sentiment too. x
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, Ros! Great work with bleaching out the dark card stock background. I have not tried that! Your leaves are beautiful and the butterfly is the perfect finishing touch. We will miss you on the team! xx
