Partial Double Die Cutting and Results

Hello ...
It's been so cold and windy here and we've seen a lot of rain too ... But blossom is slowly starting to appear on the trees and I can but hope it's gets a little warmer soon.

Over at PTI this week the 'Make it Monday' saw the talented Laura Bassen showing the partial double die cut technique ... I've done this before and discovered that it doesn't work with all dies to give such good results ... you have to be careful with your choice.
I can't enter my card at PTI because the one I made doesn't use any of their goods ... due to postage my supplies from them is very limited

But my thankfully lovely blog friend Diane pointed out that my card would fit the challenge at
The Muse this week is Kristie Goulet and this is her beautiful card

...Dramatic black against a sunset
Here's my card

The city scape die from Clearly Besotted Stamps is perfect for this technique because it has a straight edge that doesn't hinder the design when partially cut - I used it with one of the Sizzix circle dies

I sponged the front of my card first using Cantaloupe ink by Memento and Pink Grapefruit by Versamark ... together they give a lovely sunset effect and blend well - Like the muse... dramatic black against a sunset

On another note I have had the results of my biopsies and it seems that my rash is eczema ... Unfortunately because they were treating me for an allergy the meds obviously aggravated the eczema and so the recovery has been slow and at times painful. However, I am relieved that it is not Auto Immune disease as was first feared and now I know what I am dealing with I can apply the correct creams etc., hopefully come summer I will be fine.

I hope you week is going well ...

Hugs for now
