Easter cards

Hello...

I have a couple of Easter cards to share today... It's a sunny and bright Good Friday here and though I'm not overly religious, I have my beliefs, but Good Friday always pulls at my heart strings more than any other time... The cruelness against another individual who did no wrong always haunts me.

Anyway, on to my cards...
The first one is just inking through a stencil and a simple embossed dafodil

I adore daffodils and have them  both in the garden and in the house and everywhere we go at this time of year they are in abundance

And the second one is a little more ornate...

Again I have used up some odd bits of previously created BGs to stamp and cut my flowers

See that little lamb?Well actually it's a deer from a memory box die but it looks like a lamb right?

We're just having a quiet Easter, we've had so many hospital appointments lately it's a good job we are retired or we couldn't fit them in Lol!
I am having another scan next week on my spine, that should tell me why I'm struggling a bit but it seems I also have mild scoliosis which I was not aware of... Heck, no wonder I seem to be getting shorter...

Before I go I just want to thank the team over at CAS Watercolour for a shout out... I can't believe that the painting I almost ditched actually got me an outstanding design award, I'm thrilled!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter and life is good to you

Till soon

The same but different....

Good morning...
It's a beautiful sunny day here, cool, but who cares as long as the sun shines

Yesterday I spent a few hours in my craft room using up some bits and pieces... Here are 2 cards I made... The same but with different backgrounds

This one uses a piece I had when playing with the faux enamel embossing technique

I love the texure it gives and I love these colours

This next one uses a scrap of ink blended BG that I wasn't keen on but works it with this die

The dies are by Memory Box

And the word stamps are a new addition to my stash... They're by Crafters Companion (Signature Collection) and were in the sale

I even pulled out the liquid pearls, I'm quite surprised that they still work as I've had them for years
I also made a few Easter cards which I'll share in a few days.

I've spent weeks doing the projects for the Thursday Club and the last date on my chart before the 2 week break was for this Thursday so I prepared all the Easter gifts and cards for them- Took me days! To be honest, I'm still having a lot of pain following the operation, strangely enough in the opposite side to the one that gave me so much grief, so I was pushing myself to get things done ... Well, you can imagine how I felt when I was then told that the dates had changed and there is no club this week or the following week...Argh!
Anyway I am hoping to see my consultant sooner then planned to see what is going on, I'm dreading him saying that I have to have more surgery.... Fingers crossed.

Wishing you all a wonderful day

Till soon

Just a card

Hello there...

It's a sunny day here in Liverpool, still cold but it's good to see the sun shining and hints of blossom are appearing on the trees - Maybe Spring hasn't quite forsaken us yet

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my friend Norma's birthday over a week ago

The beautiful stamps are by Uniko - I won them sometime ago and I used one of my favourite ink combinations Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint

Norma is one of the 3 lovely ladies that I meet up with for lunch about once a month - Thing is we haven't seen each other now for almost 6 months due to various circumstances and in that time Ella lost her beautiful puppy, I lost my Aunt and had my sugery, then Joyce lost her husband. We have much to catch up on and hopefully we will soon.

You know it's a known fact that men need to see their friends regularly to maintain their friendships whereas we ladies can go months and just pick up where we left off... I know that to be true as my hubby sees his friends at least twice a week and they are always on the phone to each other... Makes me laugh!

Wishing you all a lovely day ... Stay safe

Watercolour Garden

Hello and good morning

It's cold today with flurries of snow and hailstones. I have to venture out to do a little grocery shopping and to get a little exercise but I'm squeezing in an entry for the challenge over at

A long while ago I tried my hand at painting little flowers freehand, I wasn't that impressed with my efforts so I put the piece to one side... Then I saw this challenge and thought, well, maybe it's not so bad and made it into a card

I love to join in this challenge when I can... It pushes me to try things I perhaps wouldn't have and share pieces I perhaps wouldn't have either

....I have a box full of trinkets and these little gardening gloves seemed to be the perfect addition  - How I wish my garden were as colourful right now

As always I'm wishing you a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for popping in

Till soon

With Sympathy

Hi there...

Just popping in with another sympathy card I needed to make

It's never an easy task is it, so once again I kind of stuck to ink blending and embossing

The pretty bird and branch was part of a set sent to me by my lovely blog friend Rebecca and I used my mix of silver and gold embossing powder

The scene looks a little wintery, well it is getting colder here once again with a possibilty of snow on the way, but I tend to think it represents the feeling of losing someone dear...

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments and kind wishes I really appreciate them

Wishing you a beautiful day

This and That

Hello...

It's been a while since I posted and days spent making projects for my group leaves me lacking in inspiration for my own cards... I have quite a few birthdays to cover this month and sadly a few sympathy cards to make too...

I saw a super card made by the talented Tasnim Ahmed Here
As my husband's grandson will be 3 years old in a few days, I thought it would be a great card to Case... Here's my version for a 3 year old

It was easy enough to cut the number on my Cameo and the little diamonds are off cuts from earlier projects

I got the little cars and the flag from the internet

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to get to visit you all lately, there's been so much going on and a lot to deal with this year... As you may remember my husband has family in Cornwall and in January his cousin Joyce died.... On my birthday as it happens. Shortly afterwards her youngest son had a stroke but thankfully he is now doing well. Of course due to our own health issues we haven't been able to travel so it came as another blow to learn that Joyce's eldest son is in now hospital with an extremely rare and painful cancer. The oncologists are struggling as are the family and I've spent many hours on the phone with them. Your prayers for Andy would be very welcome...
As if this were not enough, my friend lost her lovely husband last week too... He was such a gentleman in every sense of the word and will be missed.

So I am now going to grab a coffee and then make my way through my blog list...

Have a lovely day

Unicorns and Magic

Good morning!
Well it's warmed up a little here, the ice and snow have disappeared and the cats have been out and about.

I've been working on projects for my sweet group and I thought I'd just share the Mother's Day gift that they will be assembling this week

I hand cut 24 boxes with front and backs... The little unicorn face was done on my computer... Firstly, I shaded in for some cheeks and found a picture of eyelashes on the web... Using photoshop I was able to take out the background of the eyelashes and place them over the cheeks. It worked really well and I just then printed them all out.
The ears, horn and leaves were all cut  on my Cameo. Inside the box are some pretty foiled chocolate hearts.

They will aslo be making a little card to go with this, really simple for them to make

Now I just have to come up with something for next week...

I'm back at physio later today, it's going to take a long while before I'm fully fit. My body has to realign now my spine has been screwed into place and the internal healing will take months so I am still experiencing a fair it of discomfort from time to time... Still I'm so grateful to the skill of the surgeon for all he has done... In case you are wondering... Below is how my spine now looks... With a new 'disc' made from my own bone, scews and a cage too. Magic!

Have a wonderful day

50th Wedding Anniversary

Good morning lovely people

It's so cold here! We've had snow, not a great deal, but I think that's because it is just too cold to snow. All the stores are full of summer fashions and easter eggs and somehow it just doesn't seem right Lol!
I got to visit my friend (who was actually 92) and delivered the card I shared in the last posting along with some flowers. Bless her... She wasn't sure who I was at first and when I said my name she wouldn't stop kissing me and hugging me and kept shouting to her husband "George... it's Rosalind, it's Rosalind! (always my full title)... I'm sure she will forget I came once I'd left but for that time she was so happy.

It was also another friend's 50th Wedding Anniversary last week and I'm hoping to catch up with her tomorrow... Here's the card I sent

It was s hard to photgraph but hopefully you can see the stamping done in platinum ink that adds a pretty sheen to the overall card

I kept on losing those little numbers so die cut a few, then used 2 of the zero's for wedding rings

My friend Mac let me know that I got a shout out at CAS Watercolour Challenge for this card... Thanks Mac, congrats to you too! And thank you to the lovely team at CWC, it's always an honour.

I've just finished 2 sets of projects for tonights Thursday club and I'm halfway through making next week's Mother's Day projects ... It's on the 11th March here in the UK.  There are 24 pretty unicorn gift boxes (to hold chocolate hearts) and 24 cards for them to assemble.

To all of you who are experiencing this cold snap... Be safe and stay warm and to those of you basking in the sunshine... I'm jealous haha!

Have a great day
