Hi there ...
It's been very wet these past few days ... But it makes the fresh new blooms even more vivid ...
I can't get enough of the blossom outside my window this year
Yesterday I played around with some inks ... stamping and sponging with nothing really in mind - I stamped a scrap of card with a bubble wrap stamp using a light spray of Goosebumps and then sponged it with lots of different inks but the piece was a little small to use on a card ... That's when I decided to make a plaque to remind me of the blossoms
I started with this wooden plaque
...and removed the letter and pins holding it ... then set about decorating it
This is how it ended up
You can see the piece of stamped and sponged card stock mounted onto a piece of dottie paper and overlaid with a small piece of acetate that I'd printed text onto
Now I know my blossoms are lilac coloured ... they started life as a piece of white Christmas snowflake vellum ... I punched out flowers and decided I'd sponge them too in purple ink ... the silver embossed snowflake design made for a great centre for my blossom
I shaped each flower and glued them to a small twig along with some ribbon leaves
Funny thing I found out about this vellum ... if it came into contact with any liquid i.e. baby wipe or wet glue ... it just curled right up ... took me quite a while to complete my blossom branch
Of course I had to add a sweet vellum butterfly and dressed it up with some wire antennae and bling beaded body with a slight curve
I'm going to enter this in the Eclectic Paperie challenge
It's about wood ... though I'm not sure if dressing it up like this counts but it looks lovely on my wall
I hope you're having a good start to the week ... I'm happy to say that I got a Terrific Top 3 over at the Shabby Tea Room for this card... Thank You ladies!
I'll be back tomorrow with a very special post for CCCB ... see you then
Take care
