City Crafter 255

Hello and good morning!

Today, the last day of March, the lovely Stella is hosting the challenge over at City Crafter and this week is all about
Polka Dots

Stella is asking that we make a card or project that features some sort of Polka Dots ... be it paper a stamp or embellishments ... full details are on the City Crafter Blog

I created a quirky sort of card for this challenge

I used the Lil'inkers border dies to create the wavy shapes and popped them up over a scrap of dottie paper

The sentiment was done in Print Shop on my computer ...

Kinda looks like the body of a dinosaur doesn't it ... Well, I told you it was quirky
Hop on over to the Blog to see what my fellow team mates have to inspire you

Sadly this is the last week Darnell will be Guesting with us ... We've really loved having her here ...
Thank You Darnell!

Our winner this week will be offered a GD spot with us at City Crafter but next week we start a month long celebration for City Crafter's 5th birthday!! There will be some lovely prizes on offer so you won't want to miss out.

Have a beautiful day

Bottles

Hello and Happy Sunday!

It's my turn to pick a prompt at

And this week I've picked the word
"Bottles"

I love glass bottles ... I like the feel of the glass, the colours and the different shapes ... the way they catch the light ...
Bottles with flowers in painted, plain or burlap wrapped...

Bottles with perfume, oils or candles...

Rows of green bottles that look like they've been embossed, just waiting to be bought

or maybe just a couple on a shelf

And I just adore the cute little bird stopper on this bottle of mine

I'm quite partial to a bottle of red wine too as it happens ... lol!

Share your photos with us this week at
and go visit the blog to see more photos from the team

Hugs for now

Smooshing Galaxy

Hello...

I've spent a lovely afternoon with an amazing friend who celebrated her birthday today...
She happens to be a fine artist herself and I know she loves to see paint take on it's own shape so I decided to create a birthday card with a sort of Galaxy feel in her favourite colours

To create the effect I "smooshed" with  Distress stains, Distress Paints and a Versamark ink pad - dried it and then flicked gold, white and pewter paints over

It was only fitting that I added a big star and who better to hold on to it than a little elephant. I coloured him and covered him in glossy accents but it's a little hard to see that.

I hope your day is a good as mine has been ...
Till next time

NBUS challenge

Hello sweet friends How are you?
It's a sunny Spring morning here in Liverpool but it is still quite cold and the temperatures at night drop really low...

Today I have an Easter card I made for a blog friend but I'm also entering it at

Can you believe it's almost Easter?? Where has the time gone?

That sweet little chick is a digital image from a free colouring page I found on the internet maybe a year ago and I never used it - the banner stamp by Wplus9 is also a NBUS item .. it's been hiding in my drawer

I coloured the little chick with my meagre supply of Promarkers, fussy cut it and popped it up on a sponged piece of die cut CS

I really love those colours and you know I just love those stitched border dies ... I can't stop using them

I hope your week is going well ...
Have a lovely day

Meet Monique

Hello!

I'd like you to meet a friend of mine Monique Dubois

She doesn't live with me (well, I've got cats) No, she's from Paris
My blog friend Darnell as most of you know has a hamster "Hammy" and Monique would love to meet him

Ok, Monique is a mouse not a hamster and I'm not sure how hamsters and mice get on so Darnell may have her hands full... Never the less this card will be on it's way very soon

I think maybe I need another cup of coffee... or maybe I've had too many

Till soon

Stretch Your Dies Day 6

Hello ...
This is my second post today ...  I would love it if you scrolled down to check out the post for

I'm just posting my card for Day 6 of the online class

Day 6 is about using your border dies in different ways ... The team really came up with some amazing samples ... Shaped cards, inlaid die technique and sponging using a border die cut as a template
I went with the latter using the Hillside Border dies by Lawn Fawn to create this cute card

The little elephant is a recent purchase ... he's from the Unforgettable stamp set by Wplus9 which I got from Make the Day Special - I just love this cute set

My sponging needs a little practice but I'm happy with how this turned out

I hope your day is A beautiful one

Thanks so much for stopping by

Hugs

Gift

Good morning...
It's time for a new word prompt at

This week Kirsty has picked the word for us it's
Gift

I've been a little too preoccupied with creating this week so I've been going through my photos to find something suitable ...
The word Gift has so many meanings and looking through my archives I sort of realised that whilst I am not what I would call a gifted person (talent wise) I have been gifted...

My greatest gift -  The gift of motherhood without a doubt ... I only have one child but I am more than thankful

I've been gifted with having beautiful animals... there's nothing like the love of a dog

And looking at this photo I see so much more ... I have the gift of sight to enjoy the beauty of the forest... and my legs have carried me many miles walking my dogs and enabled me to gift back a little
by doing the Race for Life a number of times

I have the gift of somehow being accepted by animals that need help

Yes that's a real Coal Tit in my hand...

... And a fox cub that I found ... she was very sick but made a good recovery

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week to fit the word gift

Link up your photos with us at

Have a lovely Sunday

Stretch your Dies Day 5

Yep I'm back again ...

Day 5 of the class is using coordinating stamps and dies ... I only have a few of these and the examples in class were all stunning but I opted to make a quick card CASing the card by Shari Carroll
Pat always comes here on Friday afternoon which I love so I was a little restricted for "me' time as I try to help Pat make something to take home

So this card uses a stamped window and a cut out from the coordinating die

The set I had was from Clearly Besotted stamps and I first stamped and embossed in white onto a piece of acetate

Unfortunately my embossing is nowhere near as neat and clean as Shari's but that acetate is slippery!
Behind the acetate which neatly fits into the coordinating die cut is patterned paper...

I'm hoping to find time in the near future to try out the other 2 examples in today's class - I'm amazed I was even able to keep up as well as I have ... I only missed one day ...

I hope you are all well and wish you a lovely weekend

Till soon be safe

Stretch Your Dies Day 4

Hello again ...

Day 4 of the online class is about using your small dies...
I went with a sample by Jennifer Rzasa which is using your mini dies to fill your background
I pulled out those pussy cat dies for this together with the littlest of the balloon dies

I decided that they looked better on a piece of DP ... This is one by American Crafts

One little tip I use when cutting certain images is that if you turn your paper or card over and cut again ... the direction of the image is reversed ... That way my cats don't all go in one direction

My nephew is coming to dinner tonight so I'd better get on ...

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments - I really appreciate it

Enjoy the rest of your day

Flap Opening Card

Hello ...

Today I'm sharing another card from the online class and this one I've taken from Carissa Wiley's example ... It's using your dies to create a flap opening

I sponged Avery Elle's Sea Glass ink through a Memory Box stencil for my BG and added a strip of paper from MME before partially cutting through using one of the Lil'inkers stitched rectangle dies to make a flap

I also added a few sponged circles to my base card and stamped under the flap ( stamps are from Clearly Besotted) and finally added a frame cut from 2 of the rectangle dies

I think this is really a fun way to use my dies and I'll be trying this again

Thanks for letting me share with you ...

Till soon

Shrinking Die Cuts

Hi there!

I mentioned that I was following an online class "Stretch Your Dies" and I make no excuses for this being a busy card ... I had no idea that you could shrink those big old die cuts using plain foam and couldn't wait to get right to it using the things on my desk

On a card this size (4x6) I would normally only be able to fit one of the larger die cuts but after seeing the tutorial by Jennifer McGuire I was enlightened and amazed ...

I coloured the white foam word "hello" using a Promarker and it looks just like suede!
I'm getting out all those old foam sheets I had pushed to the back of my supplies and I'll definitely be using this idea again...

Spring has paid us a visit today and it's wonderful! The sun is shining, birds are singing and Ginger cat is sun bathing in the garden ...
I hope it's a good day where you are

Hugs

AAA cards Challenge

Hello...

I've enrolled in the online class Stretch your Dies and I'm really enjoying it ... I'll share some cards with you later in the week but today I have a card I made at the weekend with the
AAA Card Challenge in mind ... The theme is Bare Naked

It's about having a lot of white space on your card - I delved into my scraps and came up with this card

The butterfly was cut from a scrap of white card that I had previously sprayed with various inks and the splattered vellum was left over from an earlier card

The sentiment is by PTI and the sweet little resin rose was from a pack I received as part of a birthday gift from the lovely Wendy ...

I hope you are enjoying your week ...

Take care

City Crafter 253

Hi there!
Happy St Patricks Day to all of you who celebrate the occasion

It's Kirsty's turn to set the challenge over at City Crafter today and Kirsty has given us a
Photo Inspiration challenge

Don't you just love those colours!! I think this has to be one of my favourite combinations ever!
Here's my card

I used VersaMagic ink in Pink Grapefruit to sponge the bottom of my card ... It's such a pretty ink and especially when paired with the pale kraft colour in the paper leaves

That little piece of silver mesh was just waiting to be found in my scraps ... I noticed some mesh in one of the squares in the photo and thought this would be perfect... The 3D shell stamp is a sticker

This has to be my favourite make to date so "Thanks Kirsty!!"

Once again we have the lovely Darnell Guesting with us and I'm really looking forward to seeing what our team have come up with this week ...
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with too ... If you'd like the chance of a Guest Spot with us at CCCB just link up your creation based on the Inspiration Photo and the winner will be joining us on the team...

Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for your visit and your lovely comments

Till soon
