Just another card

Good morning

The sun has taken a break today, it's cooled down, but it is expected to come back tomorrow for a busy weekend here in my city.
We have the tall ships in at the dock, the Bordeaux wine festival and of course my football team LFC are playing in the Champions League at Kiev.

Here's a card I made a few days ago

I stamped and cut the flowers (MFT) from one of the ink blended and splattered pieces I did last week and the stems are cut from an older piece

I had a piece of a leaf die cut left over so I used it in the circle to thread some of the flowers through

And I'll leave you with a picture of my first rose in bloom this year

Wishing you all a lovely day and a great weekend

Ink blending

Hello there!
I hope you are all well?

It's been awhile since I last posted - All's well here, it's just been a busy time.
I still have "men at work" but hopefully not for too long. There have been a few hiccups and a few delays but it's all looking much tidier in the side garden with new gravel and edging etc.,

The weekend was a busy one too, especially Saturday when  I watched the Royal wedding in between making cups of tea and coffee for the workmen and in the afternoon we went off to celebrate 25 years of Thursday Club.
Crafting wise, well, apart from projects for the group I haven't had time to do anything until today when I had to make a card for a male friend. Thankfully I had some ink blended pieces I did last week so used one for his card

Now I'm itching to do more Lol!

The weather here is still beautiful and I'm looking forward to being able to tend to some of the plants once the groundwork is finished. It's been more than a year since I was able to do any gardening and I know I still have to be careful but my back is very much improved.

I'll leave you with some garden shots...The forget-me-nots that come up every year

...The shrubs coming into bloom

Oh and these pretty flowers

Wishing you a lovely day

Inspired By Nature

Hello and good morning.... I hope your week is going well?

The AAA Card Challenge this week is "Inspired by Nature"

Here's my card

Like many of you, we've had our fair share of rain and the alcohol ink background here is to reflect that together with the lush greenery and the colours that are beginning to grace my garden

Fortunately we've had good weather these past few days which means the workmen can get on with the landscaping work on one half of my garden

But hey! This is the UK and anything can happen where the weather is concerned so I'm baking to keep them happy whilst they work Lol!

I'm hoping to catch up with you all today and can't wait to see what you've been creating

Have a beautiful day

Water water everywhere

Hello...
Boy it rained  heavily last night...

This morning the air is clear and heady with the scent of blossom and lilac but look at my poor tree

...Barely able to stand under the weight of the raindrops

And there is one little rain soaked poppy peeking out from the foliage

It may not be very warm but it's getting much more colourful each day and the other half of the garden where we are re- landscaping has finally been started

I have a card to share that I made for my friend's wedding anniversary... You may remember that I made all the invitations and save the date cards for her and I can hardly believe it will be a year next Saturday since the wedding took place.

It's a really simple watercolour card

...In shades of blue as my friend likes
Of course we have a very Royal Wedding next Saturday too and our Thursday Club is also celebrating it's 25th year. We had so much fun this week making 25 Bee ladies and 25 cards. Some of the more severely disabled guys are accompanied by male support workers and they are becoming experts at putting the creations together... sometimes doing 4 at a time.
I hope you enjoy your weekend... Thanks so much for your visit

A Little Hello

Good morning lovely people...
The sun has left us and temperatures are cool today .. Good weather for the part of garden to be cleared and landscaped... Well, that was the plan,  except the guy doing it forgot he was to be here today. Hubby would normally be playing golf first thing so he's not happy that he missed it for nothing Lol!
May hasn't exactly started well but I'm optimistic...

In my last post I shared a card with butterflies cut from a a left over piece of a watercolour BG I did... Today I'm sharing the card I used the watercolour piece for

Using a few new dies...

It's been hard to photograph my cards lately - to capture the colours, especially when there is a shine to them

Now many of you have emailed me asking me where my dies are from... Over the years I've collected many from the big name companies and still buy my stamps from them but with postage costs always on the rise it's becoming far too expensive to keep up. I still keep an eye out for sale goods and often pick up a bargain but the majority of my dies now come from Aliexpress... Not wishing to offend the any of the companies out there but Aliexpress offer amazing dies at a fraction of the cost and with free postage. It means I can have a good selection without breaking the bank... Sometimes I look at dies that have cost me over £20 and never get used more than once.. That's crazy right? So there you have it...

I hope you have a beautiful day

Monday Blues

Hello... How was your weekend?
We've had lovely weather, too hot even for Ginger cat!

It's Bank Holiday monday here in the UK and a beautiful sunny day which is rare -Bank holidays here are usually reknowned for rain.
What a morning it's been so far...My car wouldn't start so I had to call the RAC out... Thing is I haven't driven it in months - My son usually drives it to keep things turned over but seemingly not enough to keep the battery charged or the mileage up for the warranty to apply so I had to buy a new one. Then as the guy tested everything one of the cables on the window snapped so I now have to get that repaired.
My curious cats kept climbing in the RAC van and I had to keep chasing them whilst pretending to understand all the technical talk the RAC guy was giving me.

Whilst all this was going Hubby took a call from our family in Cornwall to say that his 2nd cousin who has the rare cancer, is not doing well at all. His immune system has now collapsed so he can't have Chemo. It's so upsetting... He's such a lovely guy.

I bless the fact that I can lose myself in crafting at times and I have a card to share with you that was mostly made from scraps

The butterflies were cut from left over pieces of watercolour BG's I did last week and the frames were cut from scraps of CS

Actually there wasn't enough to properly cut 3 butterflies but by overlapping the missing parts I got around that

My scrap cards almost always turn out better than the others for some reason... Lol!

Ok, I'm off to get some lunch for hubby and I so I'll wish you a lovely day

Hugs

CAS Watercolour Challenge

Good morning...

I have a card to share that I am entering at

Normally I keep my colours pretty subdued, mostly greens and blues but this lovely weather has turned my head and today it's a bright watercolour done with Gansai Tambi paints

As a rule I prefer to paint on ordinary cardstock as it gives (to me anyway) a brighter finish and that's what I went with here... I lightly spray the CS first and then let the colours flow

I also use my heat gun both on the back and the front to keep it from curling - works for me anyway.

My paints have had a good work out this week Lol!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, thanks for stopping by

Happy Friday!

Hello... The bank holiday weekend is almost here and the weather forecast looks good!

I finished the bees for my group...

...And they will be assembelling them next week - Pat did a project for last night and it was hectic!

I also found time yesterday to make a few cards... There are a lot of birthday's this month and one of them is my great nephew Ross who will be 16... 16!!! Where did the years go? I don't get to see him much now, I guess with him living in a different part of the country and getting that much older, staying with his grandparents isn't that cool any more...
What kind of card do you make for a 16 year old boy? I turned to the internet for a photo and came up with this

I printed the car out and then cut his name into it using my Cameo...

...Popped up his name and added some liquid pearls, a sentiment and a star
I was kind of pleased with how it turned out.
I pulled out my paints too and made a few background pieces which I made into cards... I'll share them in the next few days. Yesterday was a good day!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and the sun shines on us all!

Till soon

~ Ros ~
