Just a Note

Hello friends... I hope you are well.

The sun is shining and we are promised some good weather for the next few days... Yay!
Ginger boy and I will be enjoying some time in the garden or I may even venture out for a coffee and to watch the world go by... I've really missed doing that.

Today I have 2 more cards to share...

I haven't used this die before... It arrived from Ali Express and I'd forgotten about it. I had a piece of photo paper that I'd used AI on and I came up with this.

I used my glitter pen over the AI - You have to let it dry and when it does, the sparkle is lovely. For the both flowers I used double sided tape on the AI piece before cutting so I didn't have to piece together all those little bits

And my second card today again uses up a few bits

The flower was stamped onto ink blended CS and painted both with water and more distress ink.

A couple more for my collection...

Have a wonderful day - I hope the sun is shining on you

Drawn Flowers

Hello there...

What a weekend it's been... The weather has been rubbish with more rain than we can handle and pretty cool too. On the upside, we had a visit from Ian's middle son on Saturday and his eldest on Sunday. It's been a long time and it was good to catch up.

I spent sometime just playing with distress inks, water and a few bits

This might not look much, a drawn flower on ink blended card which I bleached with water, but turn it to the light and it sparkles beautifully courtesy of my favourite gelly roll pen

Sparkle is hard to capture but on a dull day it's even harder.

Another drawn flower, this time painted with Distress Inks and a few bits added

These cards are always handy to have as they can be used for a number of occasions and they use up all those little bits and pieces I hate to part with.

Following my last posting, thank you all for your kind wishes - I managed to speak with a GP and my meds have been increased so my legs are not keeping me awake at night ...So far.

I hope you are all well and getting back to some sort of normality.
Thanks for stopping by - Wishing you a happy day

Birthday Boys

Hello friends, how are you doing?

I've had a couple of old ailments come back to visit this week and the prescription I have for my legs seems to becoming less and less effective... It's unfortunate that seeing a doctor or even trying to book a telephone consult is so difficult during these times but not much we can do about it.

We also went to the eye hospital for my husband's check up following the laser treatment done a few weeks back to relieve the pressure but sadly it hasn't worked. He has a month of drops and if that doesn't help it will be surgery again...

Anyway, we stay ever hopeful

This month my eldest brother celebrates his birthday along with my friends' husband so today I'm sharing the cards I made for them.

First up is a funny I made for my brother

I used my own Tig and Mo drawings and painted them along with the balloons

The speech bubbles and text I did on the computer and you can probably make out a little stenciling in the background... Inside the card I printed this

And for our friend Charlie, I made a card featuring his favourite tipple

The background is stenciled, paint splattered and splashed with water which I blew around

The images were free digitals which I first printed on vellum,  adhered them to a piece of card and then fussy cut.

I recently bought a new printer, I've always used a Canon printer but the last one I had was awful. Due to many people working from home and deliveries not being met, printers have been difficult to get but I did eventually get another 'newer' version Canon and I am very pleased with it. The problem I find now is that everything is so technical... I don't need half the features, same with the mobile phone so I'm paying for stuff I'll never use let alone even understand Lol!

Anyways, thanks so much for popping in, I hope to catch up with you all soon

Have a lovely day

Two More

 Hello...
It's still raining here and its beginning to look like a forest out the back, I guess it could be worse. but I'm really getting fed up with it now.

I've 2 more cards to share using up painted bits and die cuts

The die cut frame I haven't used before, it was tucked away

What you can't see on the photos is the sparkle... The painted pieces that I die cut all have glitter pen on them and believe me they do sparkle

Same with this one... a left over painted flower, a TH die cut and a digital frame

Not forgetting the tiny dragonfly cut from a small piece of left over AI
I get a lot of fun making cards from left over bits...

Restrictions are soon being lifted here but there is now concern over the new variants...  In all honesty, I think the old life we knew is gone which is not so tough for us but for the fearless youngsters that we all were once, it's sad.
Stay well my friends and have a good weekend

Rusty Arch & Seahorse

Hello there... Lovely that you popped in today

We're having such crazy weather here, from beautiful blue skies and sunshine one minute to torrential rain, lightening and hailstones all in one day. We managed to get the flagging in the garden professionally cleaned and now I can't even go out to enjoy it...The cats seem to think it's my fault and they've been so grouchy you wouldn't believe.
See how clean it looks though

You can see those black clouds heading over again

Anyway, I did get a visit from a friend yesterday and that was really enjoyable. So today I have two very different cards to share, both using up bits I had laying around

This is Paris through the rusty arch (It's all that rain!)

A little bit of pen and paint and a lot of embossing with different powders

The frame and bicycle were originally white die cuts and though the Eiffel tower is a digital, with the help of an embossing pen I managed to cover that too.

The next one is an unusual combination... A seahorse and a butterfly?

Well the butterfly frame is a very old digital... I collected lots over the years and finally went through them all disposing of a lot but not the frames. The seahorse was cut from a piece of alcohol inked photo paper and never used so I added some liquid pearls and a gem for his eye to make him feel special.

Male seahorses are special I think, after all they carry the baby eggs until they hatch. Can you imagine a man carrying a baby for us ladies? No, me either Lol!
A little bit of paint, a scrap die cut and there you have it, a butterfly and a seahorse, unusual but I like it.

Well I've kept you long enough... Have a beautiful day and stay well

Till next time

Lets Party

 Hi.. How are you all?

The rain has stopped for awhile though I can see it isn't done with us yet. I've had my second vaccination and thankfully I didn't have the same bad reaction to it as I did the first one. All I need now is a relaxing beach holiday ... If only!

I've made quite a few cards lately using up bits and pieces which I'll share with you over the next week or so but today's card is for my great nephew Ross, who will be 19 this week. Where the heck did all those years go?? Once he got into his late teens he didn't want to come up to Liverpool and hang out with his grandparents so much and then came the pandemic so I haven't seen him in a long while.

Anyway, here's what I came up with

I used some digital files here... The background paper is a digital that I then stenciled on and the drinks are all digitals fussy cut

I did add some dimensional gloss to the glasses and the fruit but I'm not sure it shows up here. After stamping and embossing the birthday sentiment I added a die cut and used the little popped out dots from it to decorate the rest of the card

I hope he likes it and at knows that we love him and miss him.

Have yourselves a wonderful Sunday... Be safe

CAS Mix Up

 Hello there...

Today's card s for the new challenge at CAS Mix Up where Susan is hosting and my blog friend Michele is guesting.

Here are the requirements for this months' challenge

Considering we've had a tremendous amount of rain lately and sunshine thrown in, you'd think we would be seeing lots of rainbows but so far, non... Here's my card

Rainbow DI colours through a stencils with a stamped and embossed image by Woodware - The stamp was a little bigger but I decided to cut it down and edge it with a piece cut from a frame

I also added liquid pearls to the centre

I'm off for my 2nd vaccination later today and I only hope I don't have the same reaction as I did to the first one... Fingers crossed

Have a lovely day and thanks for popping by

Pensive

Hello friends... I hope this finds you well

We've had a bit of rain these past few days and it makes everything look so fresh. I managed to do some tidying in the garden at the weekend and I just love to look out and see the trees with their leaves unfurling and the garden coming into life.

Today I'm sharing some more paintings that I did sometime ago... The first one was sent to a friend of mine

She was the one who bought me my first set of Prima paints and look where that led me

This next one is a personal favourite and one my husband loves too

I was thinking about the friend I lost, how much I miss her, the conversations we had that I don't have with anyone else... Our friendship was special

Sometimes you just need to be alone with your thoughts and your memories and in my case, paint how I was feeling

Okay, that's it for now... I'm off to visit you all

Have a lovely day - Till next time
