City Crafter 355

Hello ... Are you having a good start to the week?

So today starts a new challenge at City Crafter and this week Kirsty is hosting for us with the theme
In Bloom

Create a project that has a flower or flowers
Really simple... Here's my card

I've a mix of stamps and dies going on here... The dog is from Avery Elle's Furry friends - I stamped coloured and die cut him then made extra cuts to have him fit over the stitched circle.

The flowers are from the MFT Buildable bouquet set and the clouds are by Memory Box... Cut from digital paper from Pink Petticoat.

The sentiment was computer generated...

The team have some lovely card to inspire you up on the City Crafter Blog ... Go take a look.

Have a lovely day

Bye Bye Chester

Hello there ...

One of the friends I meet up with for lunch each month, Ella, had 2 little Shih Tzu's, Bailey and Chester - Her boys she called them - Sadly some months ago Bailey went off to doggie heaven. Well, last week  Chester went to join him... Having lost many cats over the years as well as my beloved dogs, I know there are no words to ease the pain so I just made a simple card

A bouquet of flowers covered in tear drops...

I added a little ink blending just to enhance those pretty flowers... Ironically my last dog Holly died on Ella's birthday 7 years ago...

... And my heart still aches

Enjoy your day my friends

Till soon

Happy Mother's Day

Hello!
It's a beautiful day here in Liverpool and it also happens to be Mothering Sunday
Happy Mother's Day to all of you who celebrate today ... I hope you have a beautiful and loving day

I got the biggest card ever from my son and one from the cats! I also got a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and chocolates... I am so blessed to have Mikey - He's is and always has been my rock and the best thing that ever happened to me...

I had news this week that my Chiropodist  Les who happens to be one of the nicest guy's ever, is in hospital. He suddenly developed eczema similar to mine but much more severe and will have to stay in hospital until they can find something that will work for him...

I pulled out the 'surprised birdbrain' digital stamp (From The Heart Stamps) to make a card for him

I mixed it up by using part of the stamp from the other birdbrain digital... namely the flower border and added it to this one...

... Coloured everything with Copic Ciao's and computer generated a sentiment
And here's the inside

Have a wonderful day ...

Till soon

Watercolour Mushrooms

Good morning...

Spring is paying us a visit today and it's more than welcome after all the rain and miserable cold weather we've been experiencing.
Along with that we are in shock at the recent events in London, where terrorism has claimed more lives.... My heart goes out to everyone affected, along with the British people there were Americans, Romanians, French, Polish and more... London is like my second home - Where my family were born and millions of visitors come to every year ... It hurts.

It's been a busy week - Along with all the daily chores we are redoing the master bedroom and I prepared 25 Mother's day type cards and treat cups for last night's Thursday Club. Many don't have mothers but they have support workers, guardians, family and friends who they can give their cards and gifts to. It was a very hectic night!

Somewhere in between I managed to get out my paints to make a little card which I was going to enter as the CAS Watercolour challenge ... But I missed the deadline

Don't ask me why mushrooms... I just like them. These are from a christmas stamp set funnily enough - Gnome for Christmas by Memory Box..

I used the Gansai Tambi paints and even though there are so many more watercolour goods out there now that allow you much more precision I still love these and the not so precise look.

I hope you have a lovely day and a wonderful weekend

City Crafter 354

Hello!
Well, it's officially Spring Time here but you wouldn't think it looking out of my window... Still the days are getting lighter and longer and that's a good thing.

Today is City Crafter Challenge day and this week Marina is hosting for us, asking us to create a project that features a window or aperture

Here's my card

I didn't have any design in mind when I made this ... I'd bought the MFT stamps and dies (Buildable Bouquet) coloured and cut them and that was my starting point... For the front I cut an aperture in a piece of card and added some dottie acetate that I had in my stash...

Then I realised that I couldn't just add it to a card or I wouldn't have a window... Duh! So I had to cut an envelope shape that I could add the front to and still have a window...

I kept back one flower to put inside so I could make it visible from the outside... Then it occurred to me that I could have just stamped one inside! Mush brain or what?

Whilst you're still laughing, hop on over to see what the rest of the team have to share with you this week at CCCB...

I'd also like to enter this card at the AAA Card Challenge where the theme is Die Cuts

Have a great day!

Bright and cheerful

Good morning!

It's been such a busy week and so much more to do...
Thank you for your kind wishes - My hospital appointment went well and the doctor was very thorough ordering a lot of blood tests... Seems a lot of those well meaning medications we are given over the years often come back to bite us, and of course getting older brings it's own party - Yep it's such fun Lol!

Mother's day is approaching here in the UK and I've been preparing projects for my group... I still  have tons to cut and I'm hoping to finish today whilst hubby is at the match. Then I have to strip the bedroom ... Hubby has asked the decorator in again - He hates to think of me idle (I wish)

So I have another birdbrain card to share ... When I print digitals I often print more than one at a time, well you can't have too many birthday cards

This time I cut a stencil with balloon dies to use for the BG

I used distress inks to stencil with and Copic Ciao's to colour the image

No eyelashes this time but still bright and cheerful don't you think?

The blossom has appeared on the trees now and there are so many daffodils around... We have them all over the central reservations - Hundreds of them! It's been windy and wet and as they bob and sway it looks like they are all chattering to each other... Or is that just me? See, I told you I was getting old!

Have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend

Till soon

Things that Fly

Hello again... I'm off for my hospital appointment today but I have a card to share for the new challenge at

Darlene's team is hosting the challenge for the next fortnight and the challenge is "Things that fly" Here's the tile board

Last saturday my lovely Aunt celebrated her 90th Birthday ... Can you believe it?
I made this card for her

Another Polka Dot Bella image and once again I slightly altered they eyes to give her that surprised look...

Two of the balloons were cut from scraps of card that I'd previously watercoloured on and of course I had to have one silvery glittery one

There's a super prize on offer ... A gorgeous Memory Box die

Head on over to the Double D blog to see what the teams have created to inspire you and link up your creations of things that fly for a chance to win

Catch you later...

City Crafter 353

Good morning!

It's time for a new challenge over at City Crafter and this week we have the lovely Stella hosting for us
The theme is "Spring is around the corner"

Stella wants us to create a project inspired by something in the photo

This week I thought I'd share a card I had my Thursday Club make last week ...

With all those butterflies I thought it fit the bill...

I prepared 25 of these cards and that's an awful lot of butterflies to cut! The little bunny was a digital image from a colouring page - Once coloured, I converted it to a transparency and merged it onto my BG paper and printed away

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week and I hope you'll take a minute to hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the rest of the team are sharing to inspire you.

Have a lovely day!

To brighten your day

Good morning friends...

I have a little card to share that I made for a lady I used to work with many years ago. She's a lot younger than me and she moved away from Liverpool, married and had a little girl... I recently discovered that having battled cancer for many years it has returned... I'm hoping that my card will brighten her day

I used the digital Polka Dot Bella and altered her slightly, giving her a little smile and some eyelashes.

I drew and coloured a little plant pot and added some stamped and coloured flowers

It's all I can do other than pray she will pull through this

I hope you have a wonderful weekend ...

Till soon

Birdbrain Birthday

Hello!

I've been quite productive since I started my meds ... Made a few cards, done the club projects and helped Pat create 6 cards yesterday...

I'm lunching with my GF's on Monday.. One of the girl's is celebrating a birthday and for her card I used a digital image called Bee Happy Birdbrain which I got Here

I like to change some of my stamps and digitals just to fit into what I'm making so I took the bee out of this image, changed the direction of the eyes and I added some lush eyelashes Lol!

I printed the image and coloured it in with Copic Ciaos then used a cloud die to make a stencil so I could add some subtle clouds in the background

I also added glossy accents to the eyes and a glittery die cut balloon and string - A simple way to add the string and get that little bit of movement is to pierce a small hole both on the part of the image that is holding the ballon and where you want it to end. Then secure on the reverse with tape before adhering to your card base.

I'm entering this at Happy Little Stampers

Ok... Got to get my stuff ready for club tonight ... Have a lovely day/ evening and thanks so much for all your well wishes

Till soon

Birthday

Hello...

I know I haven't been posting much lately... I've been struggling with a health issue for 7 months now and some days are harder than others ... I've been waiting and waiting for my appointment at the hospital and my doctor has managed to bring it forward to next week then Finally, FINALLY!!  The hospital sent some medication. Yay! I'm feeling much better these past few days and hope it stays that way.

So today one of my team mates on the Double D challenge blog is celebrating a birthday...

Happy Birthday Vicki!

Here's a card I made for her ... I hope it arrived on time

I used the same BG as I have on previous cards but this time I added the musical notes die by Memory Box.
To get that shadow look I first cut one of the musical note dies in black cardstock and inlaid it into my BG. I know, not the wisest decision as there were so many little bits to piece back...

Then I cut it again in white and adhered it over the other die cut but slightly offset. I think the effort was probably worth it in the end

I hope Vicki likes it ...

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by

City Crafter 352

Hello there...

This week's challenge at City Crafter is hosted for us by Kirsty - The theme is
Tutti Frutti

'Create a project that includes a fruit'

I don't make many cards with fruit on them ... It's not really the kind of card we Brits send each other I suppose, fortunately I did have a pineapple stamp and die that came free with a magazine so here's my card

The flowers were part of a digital image that I separated from the full image which allowed me to play around and group them the way I wanted. I then printed, coloured and fussy cut them before adding glossy dimensional.

I stamped, cut and coloured the pineapple, then I sponged and splattered a base to mount it on together with the flowers before stamping my sentiment

Our team have more inspiration up on the blog for you - Do go take a look

Have a wonderful day!

Double D Challenge - Think Spring

Hello
Welcome to March and happy St David's day!

Today it's the turn of Team Diane to host the challenge at Double D

And with Spring approaching, the challenge is Think Spring

Just look at that lovely tile board

Here's my card...

I wanted to make a card that showed flowers sprouting up around the base of a tree... I have a few stamps with flowers but I didn't have a suitable tree stamp so again I drew one after masking off the front flowers

This is all done with watercolours and once again I added some texture to the tree by scraping it with a craft knife and I had to mask it to stamp the second set of flowers

I pondered abut maybe adding a butterfly but in the end I just left it alone

Both teams have created lovely cards to inspire you up on the blog and here's the prize on offer for this challenge

Cute huh?

We're looking forward to seeing your entries... Have fun!
