Fantastic Amazing You

Hello there...How are you all?

Things are settling down here and thankfully Ginger cat is doing well too.
I'm so grateful for your kind words and wishes... Many of you have fur babies too so I know you "get me".
So here's a card I made just for you... To say Thank you for your support

I've had this feather die for ages and never got around to using it... To be honest it's quite big, bigger than the cards I usually make so it just got overlooked. I had a piece of BG that I did with alcohol inks and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use both

So what I did was cut around the die cut , taking out pieces here and there till I got something that looked like a peacock tail and fitted the card too.

The stamped words are from an old Clearly Besotted set and the word is from SimonSays.

Summer has finally said her goodbyes here... She stayed a lot longer than we expected but now Autumn is creeping in with gusty weather and cool days.

Wishing you a happy day

Just Us Girls # 455

Well this is my last week as Guest Designer for
and it's been a blast!

This week is Photo week

As a new school term approaches, many of you will be able to relate to this photo and there is so much you can take from this image to make your creation your own.
Here's what I came up with
I took inspiration from both the colours and the numbers, and yes a little bit of a school theme with my sentiment...
A new term often means a new school for some, that can be quite daunting, so I thought this would be a fun card to send

I started by cutting a card panel smaller than my card base and printed "New School"  in the top corner, then stamped and coloured the hen using Copics and stamped and embossed 'Awesome'. After that it was easy to arrange the number dies around and cut them out keeping the little inside pieces I needed.
I ink blended the front of my card just where the negative of the numbers would show through and popped the whole panel up with foam

A little bit of twine and that was it.
I love to see how everyone interprets a photo challenge so please come and share your ideas with us at
Don't forget to check out the creations that the team have to inspire you this week

Thanks so much to the lovely team for having me this month!

Till soon

The Hen Again...

Hello...

I haven't been creating much at all but I do have a card to share - One I made a few weeks ago with that fun hen or chick?

It's a little awkward to photograph as it's one of those pop up cards so it just has a window on the front of the card which I coloured using a stencil and distress ink

This is how it pops up ... Jennifer McGuire does a tutorial on this here That lady is so clever!
The hen/chick was coloured with Copics and the balloons were sponged with distress oxides.

It's been a traumatic week here at my house. Ginger boy has caused us much concern and heartache - I honestly thought I may lose him on Wednesday he was in so much pain. Getting medication into him is not easy and I'm not at all happy with the treatment (or lack of) that he got at the animal hospital. Heck it cost almost £1,000 and he was a mess when I got him home. He's a little improved today but still not happy. Somehow I managed to wrench my shoulder a few days ago too so we are both in the wars...
At least the plumbing in the kitchen has been fixed but the guy who came discovered that the drains are cracked and need repair... They are bringing an excavator to did up my front garden for goodness sake! Does it ever end?

I'll be back tomorrow sharing my card for my last GD spot at Just us Girls

Wishing you a lovely day

Home at last

Hello there...

Thank you so much for your comments and kind wishes for me and my Ginger boy - He's back home at last.
He was in a very sorry state and it broke my heart to see but with the love and care we are giving him, hopefully he will settle down and be well.
Knowing there were people out there who care means so much...

What I didn't mention was that late in the evening before Ginger took ill we also had a flood in the kitchen and somehow all the lights went out... There I was in my PJ's wading through water whilst Ian looked for a torch. We were up to our eyes in it when Ginger started to howl in pain... It was completely manic!
Hopefully today a plumber will be here to fix the cause of the flood, a blockage in the waste disposal and sink. It's weird how things happen all at once.

So...I posted a card on Saturday for my GD spot at Just us Girls and as I mentioned in the post I did 2 cards using the colours here

This is the other card

... done with stencils and distress inks

With a little stamping and embossing.

I've some catching up to do so I'll get on.....

Have a lovely day

Ginger Boy

Good morning lovely friends...

I just wanted to pop in and let you know that my beautiful Ginger cat is in cat hospital... He developed a blockage last Thursday evening and it's been a really rough time.. Those of you who know me, know just how much I adore my fur babies.
Fortunately yesterdays post was scheduled - I just haven't been able to focus on anything these past few days and have been over to the hospital to visit my poor boy.
I hope to be able to catch up with you all very soon and fingers crossed my Ginger boy will be back with us soon.
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments...

Till soon

Just us girls # 454

Hello!

This is my 3rd week Guesting for
and this week is Colour week

Lovely summer colours don't you think?

Here's what I came up with

There are so many ways to use these colours and I actually did another card which I'll share with you another time but this one just evolved with no plan in mind. It started with some ink blending in the 3 colours shown using 2 distress oxides Broken China and Fossilised Amber plus an ordinary distress ink Twisted Citron and then I die cut the sentiment and the balloon.

The little bear was coloured with Copics and I played about with triangle dies to come up with this design

We are so looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week... The team have created some wonderful cards to inspire you so pull out your inks, your paints, papers or whatever your preferred medium is and share with us at

Have fun!

New Home(s)

Hello... How was your weekend?
We picked up hubby's new car on Friday and so far so good... We both love it and more importantly... No more trips to car dealerships!

I had to make 3 New Home cards last week... I usually only have to make maybe 1 a year of these type cards so I decided to keep them more or less pretty similar

Here's the first one... For a friend of my husband

The letters were cut on my Cameo and it was just easier to cut 3 lots and do some ink blending

This is the second one

Where the first card has a raised front, this one is flat as it's going across the pond to a blog friend

And the third card

For my friend who lost her husband earlier this year and is making a new start with her two sons

I've started to crochet again and made a few pairs of slippers. Funny, but after I lost my Aunt I just couldn't get into crocheting... It's something we started together and I had no mind for it but I'm settling into it now. I'll never be that great at it but it's just something to do in the evenings.

Ok... That's it for now - Enjoy your day

Till soon

Just Us Girls # 453

Hello and good morning!

Today sees the start of another new challenge at
Where I am lucky enough to be Guest designer for the month of August.

This week it's Trend week

It's a fun and simple technique which I urge you to try and here is a link to a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire for those of you who like me, perhaps had not heard of this idea.

Here's my card

Having stamped and embossed the flower and leaf images, I swiped them with a few distress inks...

...Spritz them with water and dried them with a heat gun before die cutting.
Of course you can just leave them to dry but I'm kind of impatient.

I love the results that you can get doing this and I hope you will give it a try.
Do head on over to the blog to see what the team have created to inspire you this week and come and join us!

Have a lovely day

Silly Hen

Hello there...

This past week I've sent a whole bunch of cards out... Birthdays, Anniversaries, New home etc., etc.,
Since my computer was upgraded I lost a lot of events on my calendar so I'm doing my best to remember everyone ... But somehow I forgot my half brother Bill's birthday Eeek!

That called for a quick card this morning

This hen's hanging her head in shame...

Inside I put...

I think he'll forgive me though...

We're off to collect hubby's new car soon so I'll wish you a lovely day from a dull and wet Liverpool

Till soon

Perfect Together

Hello again...

I'm trying to streamline my hoard of craft goods and yesterday I came across a stamp (wine & chocolate) in my stash that I have never used. Before parting with it I decide to try and come up with a way to use it...

I suspect it would be better used inside a card but I added 'Like' to the front and inside I printed

It's a one layer card and I thought it may also fit the bill at

I wish my kitties were perfect together, Ginger is so sweet natured and protective but Missy really doesn't appreciate him... Unless of course she is being threatened and then she calls on him for help!

It's just started to rain a little here and I've lots to do so I'll wish you a lovely day

Till soon

Sunflower

Good morning!
I hope your week is going well...
The heatwave seems to be over here now and cooler temperatures are making it much more comfortable..

Today's card is for CAS Watercolour Challenge... I was fortunate enough to win last months challenge with the watercolour splash technique and this month's challenge is Sunflower

We have a field just near our house and this year there are row upon row of sunflowers! They look so beautiful and in all the years I have lived here that field has never had a flower on it!

Unfortunately I only have one stamp that resembles a sunflower, it's actually a large daisy by Stampendous so use your imagination haha!

I first stamped and embossed the image using my own mix of gold and silver embossing powder
then pulled out my Zigs to loosely paint it with.
Normally I reach for my Gansai Tambi paints or distress inks when painting and the poor Zigs have just been left on the shelf... Now I'm itching to use them again

I love the yellow/orange colour I got using the Zigs - It just looked like sunshine so I die cut the word 'sunshine' from the centre and inlaid a second white die cut into the space.

So that's my sunflower... sort of

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by

Just Us Girls Challenge #452

Good Morning!

I'm delighted to be Guest Designing over at Just Us Girls for the month of August and the first challenge of the month happens to be a favourite theme for me...

I kept my card pretty much CAS using an old but favourite stamp that came free with a magazine

I started with a little ink blending before stamping - The image always reminds me of my son and I when he was little

The posts are a digital from a colouring page which I resized, printed and coloured using copics then trimmed the base off before popping them up with foam dots to add a little dimension

The sentiment I cut in white CS and then smooshed it with Versamark ink and embossed it with a mix of gold and silver embossing powder.

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who loves a beach theme card so I do hope you will join us and share your beach themed lovelies. If you're looking for more inspiration, hop on over to the blog and check out the fabulous cards from the team... I'll see you there!

Enjoy your day

Happy August

Hello  there...I can't believe it's August already!

I've not had a lot of time for blogging - My husband has been looking for a new car - The older he gets, the harder it is for him to make a decision so it takes him months to make up his mind. This time has been no exception and as I'm not a car person (I'm just happy as long as it gets me from A to B) it gets very frustrating. He goes from showroom to showroom, reads up just about everything on each car and still struggles to pick one within his budget. Then just when I think he's made up his mind, he can't decide on colour. I can't tell you how many I've had to go look at with him and offer an opinion on colour, but still he hesitates.
Finally... FINALLY! It's sorted. I went to a dealership with him this week, saw a car that we both liked and negotiated a deal that he was very happy with phew!

I have managed to make some cards though and today I have an anniversary card I made for friends of ours, plus a very quick retirement card for a colleague of my husband...

I went with a fun and colourful anniversary card this time instead of hearts and flowers

I just love that hen and recently got the stamp set so you'll be seeing more of her... She's coloured with Copics but the BG and balloons are ink blended

I cut the "happy" on my Cameo and stamped and embossed the sentiment

I didn't have much inspiration when it came to the retirement card ...

...So again it was ink blending and a die cut from the bits box

Plus a little stamping and embossing, and he really liked it.

Hubby has just returned home after playing golf and asked me to make a new home card for one of his golfing buddies so I'd better get on.

I hope you have a super day

Till soon
