Deer for all Seasons

Hello...
How has your week been?
We've had some lovely sunny days and the week has flown by - It did include a visit to the dentist which always terrifies me... I got myself all psyched up expecting to have a filling but I only got the examination and have to go back next week for the filling...sigh

I shared some Christmas cards at the beginning of the week - Some quick ones and some a little more time consuming. I like it when I can make a batch of cards quickly and having the Misti really helps. I made a batch of these one layered, easy to post cards using a Hero Arts
stamp I got last year

I love that  stamp and the Ombre Ink

I  removed the stamp from the wooden block so I could use it in the Misti - it's so much easier - And whilst I had it out, I made a fall card to send to a friend - This time using the Autumn Ombre ink (also by Hero Arts)

I just love the colours and though the stamp is a Christmas stamp, I think it works just as well here

There's not much sign of fall colours here yet but there are plenty of acorns and chestnuts about and the squirrels are loving it.

I hope you enjoy your day and have a lovely weekend

Till soon

Christmas Critters

Hello and good morning!

Thanks so much for your tips and tricks for colds and flu... I'm feeling a lot better

I have some Christmas cards for you today... A little different but strangely enough I have quite a few friends who are animal lovers Lol!
So first up a couple of cards for my cat lover friends

When I stamp animals I usually do a few at a time... It uses up the bits of card and it's therapeutic to colour them so these were just waiting to be used

In fact most of these cards were from spares or leftovers

This one is for my friend Helen who's cat Teddy comes here daily

This is Teddy

Looks a bit like him don't you think

And I couldn't leave out those hens...

Not that I know what a french hen looks like

Nor could I forget those gulls

I made a few of them

I used the hat stamp and die from the AE Gnome Christmas set and they fit perfectly
See, not doing Thursday Club has given me so much more time to play and I love it

Have a beautiful day

3 Little Monkeys

Hi...
Happy Weekend

It's stopped raining for now... Boy we've had so much rain these past few days along with really strong gales...

Today I have another film strip card using some monkey stamps I haven't used before

My Mum used to call my brothers and I the 3 little monkeys... Funny how things come back to you
For the BG I used that lovely vine stamp I've had forever. It's a Penny Black wood stamp which I embossed and then added colour to parts of the leaves.

I didn't add a sentiment to this yet... I can add one later.

I've finally made a start on some Christmas cards - To be honest I just haven't had the inclination so I pulled out all of last years' leftovers together with bits from recent makes and made a few cards using them - I'll share some in the next few days.
I've got a feeling I'm coming down with a cold or something... I have no energy at all today so I may be forced to take it easy and sit through a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy Lol! I never watched it first time round and now I'm completely hooked!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend

A Couple of Gnomes

Hello there...
Before I share today's card...

" Thank you "

To the many of you who left me encouraging messages following my departure from the Thursday club. I can only sum it up by this quote

You're the best!

So today I have another birthday card - This is one I made for my husband's friend. They do make me laugh as they are both getting so forgetful and their conversations are so amusing to hear.
I thought this was quite apt and so did they!

They spent awhile try to decide who was who...Lol!
The gnomes are of course from a Christmas set but I think they are pretty versitile
I coloured them with copics and did a little ink blending behind them

From this angle you can see those balloons shine a little better. They were cut from mirri card that I added some alcohol inks too.

Looks like we are in for more high winds today... I can always tell when Ginger cat comes in and takes to the basket under my desk... Who needs the weather forecasters?

Stay safe and have a lovely day

Till soon

A Little Cat Therapy

Hello... How's your week going?

We're having a new driveway done and hopefully it should be finished today We've been moving the cars around like pawns on a chess board Lol! We're pleased with it though... It's a resin bond driveway that should out last us...(a sobering thought) and the last of the home improvements planned for this year and the forseeable future.
Autumn so far has been very mild, though we know that could change in a heartbeat here but we thank our lucky stars that we are not suffering the havoc that mother nature is bestowing on part of the world right now... My heart goes out to all those people suffering.

Today I have another Get Well card to share, this time for a dear friend.  Like me she is ruled by her kitties...I mean they don't care how you feel... They need feeding and let in and out, and in and out, and in and out... They sit on your desk and cover everything with fur and want to play when you want to sleep

Well, not these cats

The stamped and copic coloured kind

I hope this makes her feel better

Wishing you all a lovely day

CAS Watercolour Reminder

Hello and good morning!

I'm here today as Guest Designer at
To remind you that the challenge is now in it's 2nd week

There are some wonderful entries for this challenge up on the Blog and once again the team have created more samples to inspire you... Go take a peek

For my card I decided to use the positive die cuts from my first card

I painted the trees with a mix of distress inks this time and with a few little extras they take centre stage

I love this challenge blog - You don't have to be an amazing artist, but you can surprise yourself whilst having fun with whatever watercolour medium you use. Give it a go and link up with us.

Thank you so much to the lovely team for inviting me this month - It's an honour to be with you.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Changes...

Change happens all the time... Most of the time we don't see it coming till suddenly we're backed into a corner by things or people we least expected and it's difficult to accept.

I recently decided to step down from working with my Thursday Club group. What can I say? It was a very hard decision for me to make and something I've been wrestling with all summer... I've given 12 years of my life to helping them create every week, watched them grow, enjoyed seeing their faces and being part of their lives, the fun the laughter and often the tears.
I won't go into the facts, except to say that the church and the people who run the club are really sorry to see me go, they have been amazing, as has my husband who has supported me and believes I've made the right decision.  I'm just sorry it had to be this way. But... Who knows what is round the corner... I'm taking a well earned rest, and I'll still keep in touch...

I saw Jennifer McGuire recently did a video using jigsaw dies and whilst I don't have these dies, funnily enough, I got a couple of packs of jigsaw blanks last week... There's 3 in a pack and they only cost £1 from Inkylicious.

So I made one for a dear friend

Ink blending and embossing really worked well on this

I used stamps by Clearly Besotted and splattered with both water and TH pewter distress stain
I was going to ink blend the edges but decided against it.. I like the white.
It's a fun project and something different.

I hope you are enjoying your day ... The sun is shining here, Ginger boy is out enjoying it and Tabby is doing well. Just shows what a bit of TLC can do.

Till soon

How 'Bout a Cow

Hello...
It's very wet and cold here today...
Well, Ginger cat is doing well now but the Tabby cat we've been looking after for over 5 years has been ill. I suspect he has flu and we we've been giving him round the clock care whilst making sure our cats don't get too close. He's not a cat that will let us pick him up... Just visits daily for food. We built him a warm little house that he sleeps in but this morning when I came down to check on him he was gone so I'm hoping that he is feeling better...

I have a card to share that I made last week using a stamp set I got a while ago

I love cows..
Years ago we had a German Shepherd, Kelly...  I adored her but she had a thing about cows... I'm not sure if the size of them spooked her but she would bark like mad if she saw one.
Once when we were driving through Cornwall we suddenly turned a corner to find maybe 50/60 of them being herded down the road and the car quickly became surrounded.
Oh my, if you could have seen Kelly's face!  It was as though she realised that there were just far too many to confront and she just stared without so much as a grumble...

The images were coloured with Copics and I added a stamped and embossed grass BG - Looking at it now I thought that I may make another one and maybe use one of those springs to make the cow's head move

Ok... That's me for today

I hope you enjoy your day and I hope the rain stops here soon

Take care

It's Those Chicks Again

Hello...

I've been playing with those Chick stamps again...
I can't help it, they make me smile

I've got two cards to share... The purple haired chick

(The frame is from Inkylicious and the word stamp is from Clearly Besotted)

 The green haired chick

See... Your smiling aren't you

Just a heads up that if you ever print your blog or would like to, Blog2print has a 35% off offer on at the moment. I missed printing a few years of "My Creative Journey" but I've decide to do another book of the last 12 months.

I hope you are having a good day... Till soon

Get Well Soon

Hi there...

My husband asked for a get well card to send to a friend of his... You can't really do hearts and flowers for a guy can you... or cute little teddy bears
Anyway here's what I came up with

I used the cameo to cut the words on this

...and it came together really quick with some ink blending, a few stamps and embossed images

I know I should really be thinking about Christmas cards now that we are in September but somehow I just can't muster up the enthusiasm despite all the beauties I've seen visiting you.
What I need is to come up with something quick and simple that I can replicate... Well that's the plan.
I'm going to spend some time on Pinterest for inspiration... Talking of which, do you ever see things like me and think 'What!...Why?' Some people obviously have a lot of time on their hands.

Have yourselves a lovely day

Till soon

CAS Watercolour Challenge September

Good morning!

This month I'm thrilled to be Guesting again at

One of my favourite places to play and this month the theme is Tree

As always the team have amazing creations to inspire you - Go take a look

I love this time of year when the trees change colour, though I don't think fir trees would ever be the colours I decided to use... Lol!

I watercoloured a background using Gansai Tambi paints and cut the 'hello' into it

Then I used my Cameo to cut out some trees but here I am just using the negative piece which I die cut a stitched edge onto before placing over the painted BG

There is some gold paint splatter on there too but it's a little hard to see...

We are really looking forward to seeing your beautiful CAS watercolour creations... I do hope you'll join us

Have fun!
