Celebrate

Hello...
The weekend went fast didn't it?And here we are only a few days before we welcome February.
A good friend of my DH celebrates his Golden Wedding Anniversary next weekend and we've been invited to a celebratory lunch with them. I was wracking my brain to come up with a card for them and then a new stamp arrived and that was my starting point

Colouring on vellum is not something I do very often and I kind of like non traditional cards (guess you've noticed that) But colouring on vellum is what I did...

With my new stamp by Woodware. I've quite a few of their stamps and I love them. You can no doubt see that I used that stencil AGAIN! Ha! I love it.
The little birdies were cut from a scrap piece of alcohol inked Yupo. A few more bits and bobs and then a surprise pop up on the inside...

okay, so it took me all day but I had fun and I just hope they like it.

Have a great day

Upcycle/Recycle 2

Welcome to Friday!

Another dull and gloomy day over here, Gingerboy is keeping me company in my craft room, bless

I said I would share a couple more cards, using bits from the shop bought ones I received so here we are...

On my desk I had a bluebell (from a Clearly Besotted set) which I'd stamped, painted and die cut so I fussy cut a butterfly from one of the cards and added a black glittery body to it using a Memory Box die. The inside of one card was in a similar shade to the butterfly so I die cut the trellis for my little flower

I didn't bother with a sentiment yet - I just like the simplicity of this.

For the next card I just used part of the front design that covered the shop card, showing the pretty geraniums

Although it's not clear on the photo, the image is sparkly and I punched out a little heart from another sparkly piece

My favourite thing is putting bits together to create cards, hence the reason I keep so many pieces around lol!

Have a wonderful weekend

Till soon

Upcycle/ Recycle

Hi there...

I had lots of lovely cards sent to me for my birthday earlier this month, the majority of which were shop bought and didn't want to just dispose of them but you can only keep so much right? So yesterday I spent some time cutting bits and bobs that I could reuse. I never know if it's called recycling or up-cycling but whatever... I made 5 cards together with a few new craft goodies I got recently.

The main panel on this card started life as a gift card holder (from M&S). It was just too pretty not to make use of

One of my recent purchases was the 'Special' die and sentiment set by Gemini - there are 14 sentiments in the set and a bargain at just over £5. I also picked up a new IndigoBlu stencil (basket weave) which I wanted to try and I love it!

It made a great panel for the recycled bits to which I added a button, twine and shadowed the word die by cutting it twice, once in black and again in white

And then there was this little mouse that captured my heart...

I couldn't let him go could I?

I'll share the others later in the week

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for popping in

Watercolour Echinaceas

Hello, how are you?

It's a cold and misty morning here but hopefully the sun may put in an appearance later.

I have another birthday card to share with you, using a stamp by Woodware that I've had for awhile but never used - Achinaceas

The bee is from another set, stamped painted and fussy cut with a little bit of sparkle

I've struggled to get decent photos lately due to the weather conditions but I'm not complaining, we've been very lucky so far, no snow or ice.

The sentiment is stamped and clear embossed but doesn't show up too well here either.

Have you any plans for today? Whatever you do have a lovely Sunday

Till soon

CAS Mix Up Challenge Reminder

Hello there...
Well, we are halfway through the month so it's also time to remind you that the
has another few weeks to run and you still have time to play along with us

Here's my card for the reminder

I stamped, copic coloured and partially die cut the flowers and edged the card to look like an envelope
A little stamping and embossing in gold and that was it...

This one is going to a friend of mine, we both have January birthdays so today we will be lunching with our other 2 friends today to celebrate.

I hope you have a good day whatever you have planned

Till soon

Wellington Boots

Hello!
Have you ever had the urge to paint a pair of wellington boots?
I don't mean real ones, though I do have a wellington boot planter in my garden which I painted, no, I mean watercolour an image
Hey I maybe crazy but it's my birthday and I'm allowed Lol!

So...Yesterday when hubby had gone to the match, I decide to play using a freebie image from a colouring page and those lovely confection watercolours

Then I got to thinking about the CAS Stencil Challenge this month...

...And a small raindrop stencil that hadn't been used, and a card came together, in my signature colours of course, which also fits the CAS Watercolour Challenge

I can't tell you the satisfaction painting wellies gave me haha... Then I had an unexpected visitor so after tossing some Mod Podge dimensional here and there, play soon came to an end.

I've had more visitors bearing gifts today - Lucky me! Plus DH and Mikey are taking me to dinner this evening so I'm going to relax for awhile...

Have a lovely day and I'll catch you soon

Blue Green and Inbetween...

Hello!
I hope all is well with you... My son shared his awful cold with me and it wasn't the best way to start the new year... Still, today my head is a lot clearer and I got some daffodils and tulips which make me a happy girl. As it happens, DH and I celebrate our wedding anniversary today.

So today's card is the one that I made for my DH, inspired by the new challenge at CAS Watercolour

Blues, greens and inbetweens - My favourite colours and shades that are in in my Watercolour Confection box

Now, that flower is from a very old stamp set by the English Stamp Company and I'm guessing it is supposed to be a waterlily as the set is 'oriental' but I'm not worrying about that, Stamp it, emboss in clear E/P, paint it draw a stem and it can be anything I want... Right? So I did two and fussy cut them

Anyway, it was a last minute thing... I couldn't not give DH a card and I haven't been well enough to even think, so thank you to Bonnie at CAS Watercolour for the inspiration. Oh, and DH loved it too, which is always a bonus.

Have a great day and thanks so much for your visit.

Till soon

CAS mix Up Challenge

Happy New Year!!!
I hope your celebrations went well and you are ready to start another year of crafty challenges.
Today marks the first challenge of 2020 at the CAS Mix Up
Hosted by Hideko

And guesting with us for the whole month  is Tristan

My card is one I did for Christmas featuring a Memory box "Gnome for Christmas" polar bear

I started with a die cut square, then stamped the bear, partially die cut him and shaped the  sides to look like snow. He's coloured with copics and his scarf is die cut from a piece of mix media DP. I did an alcohol ink background splattered with gold for the sky line....

Added a little die cut tree and finished with a stamped and gold embossed a sentiment.

I hope you have a minute to check out the cards from the rest of the team and be inspired to play along with us.
Have yourselves a wonderful day
