Birthday Boy

Hello... How are you?

The weather has turned today and it's very windy. Ginger cat is not happy about it...We didn't even get to see the blood moon last night it was so overcast... Secretly I'm pleased, when it's too hot it completely drains me - Today is just right, sunny but not too hot.

Today's card is one I've made for my husband's friend... They were business partners for many many years till they retired and still go to the match together

I can't believe where the years have gone and nor can he Lol!
He's has a sense of humour so I'm hoping he will like this card... Though he can be quite tetchy at times... I know because he was also my boss for many years as was my husband, who I still call boss haha!

The card is mostly ink blending with copic coloured gnomes from a Christmas set by Memory Box... They haven't been inked up in a long time and they work just as well for any occasion.
The sentiment was computer generated

Well I hope you enjoy your weekend and it's not too hot for you ... We've been so lucky when I see the fires around the world, especially in Greece... My heart goes out to those people who lost everything including loved ones...

Take care

Scrap Cards

Good morning friends...
It's just started to rain here... Only lightly but it's welcome all the same.

I have a couple of cards to share that I made from scraps and unused die cuts - Every now and then I pull out bits and challenge myself to make something with them.

The BG on this was done with distress oxides and I used some positive and negative die cuts

The second one uses up more scraps

Little pieces of both an ink blended BG and a scrap of digital printed paper

I still have tons of bits left... I just can't seem to throw anything away and it also tells you that I don't always get things right first time... Sometimes I cut things in various colours to see how they work and then I end up with lots of leftovers

I am going to catch up with you all today... It's been awhile since I visited your blogs to see what you've been creating

Have a lovely day and take care in the sun

New Home Card

Hello...I hope your week is going well...

It's much cooler here and I could live with this weather all year long. I don't remember a summer like this since 1976... Yep, I'm that old and I can remember going to London to visit a friend (I did it regularly in those days) and the heat in the city was unbelievable but somehow it never bothered me that much when I was young. I was too interested in shopping in Oxford Street Lol!

I had to make a New Home card this week... My husband's middle son has just moved house and I don't have those type of cards on hand so I used an odd scrap of a painted BG and some die cuts to put this together

A little copic colouring on the house and a gold embossed heart

The sentiment is another one of those old rubons I found in my stash

I had an unexpected but delightful visit this week ... My brother came over and brought Ross my great nephew with him. My how he is grown, quite the young man now and doing so well.  He used to be in a special school as he has meobius syndrome but they couldn't cater for his intelligence... Now he's intergrated into a public school, doing great and hoping that he will be able to go to Uni after all.

Well that's it for now

Wishing you all a wonderful day

With Love

The glorious summer continues...
Though it's a little better here today with a breeze. Yesterday it was stifling hot and it just zaps my energy.
So today I have a cooling card to share... I'm entering this one at
Just Us Girls where it's trend week

Another watercolour background

For texture I dry embossed the BG using the coral die. The mermaid was also watercoloured and splattered with gold and then covered in Mod Podge dimensional - You can see that better here

Sometimes I like to cut up my die cuts and I've done that with the mermaid and the criss cross

I'd love to be splashing around with that mermaid ... The good thing about this summer is that we have been able to eat dinner every evening outdoors... It's been many years since we were able to do that and enjoy the garden.

I hope you enjoy your day whatever you are doing

Till soon

Just Because

Hello there...
We had rain last night... I never thought I'd be so happy to see rain but you can't top the scent of summer rain... It's glorious.
We really needed it, the tree covered land that surrounds the rear of our house is so dry and with the upcoming school holidays I have been concerned that some idiot would think it fun to start a fire. The consequence would be awful... Here's hoping it doesn't happen.
Today I have another card mostly made from BG pieces I've painted and stashed over the months - They don't always look that inspiring until I die cut shapes from them and then I'm glad I kept them

I used 2 dies... Avery Elle's Coral dies which I never tire of and a PTI (waves) cover plate
The cover plate is quite large so I cut part of it off and inlaid some of the pieces back

I used a combination of Vibez sprays and watercolour on the BG piece together with some gold splatters and I had enough to cut out one of the corals too. The purple coloured one is all watercolour.

The sun has come out and Ginger cat is making the most of it...

Wishing you all a lovely day

A Birthday and a Thank You

Hello!

I'm just popping in with a couple of cards... First a birthday card for male friend who will be 81 in a few days

I used the 2 inks that were out on my desk, Cracked Pistachio and  Faded Jeans to make the BG

Along with some glitter foam and a couple of stamps

These cards are so quick and easy to make and lets face it, cards for men are never easy to come up with - I think they're just pleased that you remembered and took the trouble.

I also made a quick card from some of my bits to send to my husbands brother and SIL... They gave us a voucher for afternoon tea at a local place...

I can't say that either of us enjoyed it and it was very overpriced but the thought was lovely.

I'll be enclosing this of photo of hubby in their card...

I'm so happy that the temperatures have dropped a little here. It's lovely and sunny but not so oppressive and there is a breeze.

Well, Pat will be coming for lunch and to play in the craftroom for the rest of the afternoon so I'll love you and leave you

Have a great day!

Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses

Hello!
I didn't think I'd be posting again so soon but whilst the World Cup was on TV and England were rising to glory I had time to play.

My lovely friend Pat gave me some new word dies... One was "Beach"
which I used on my previous card and today I'm sharing a creation using another
"Salty Toes and Sandy Kisses"

This one I'm entering at Double D Challenges

You all know I love anything nautical and right now I'm dreaming of being at the beach with palm trees swaying and the gentle sound of waves lapping on the shore.... STOP!!!

Ok... I'm back on planet earth... And here's my card

Admittedly I couldn't easily post this even though those shells are tiny and anyway, I will be keeping it, probably to frame but I'm sure I'll make a few more for friends

The BG is done with my latest favourite inks... Cracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans and when I was splattering it with water I had a happy accident... I spilt the water (see, on the bottom) and I love the effect I got

The wreath was made using circle dies (I cut 3 lots to make it thicker) and then I set to work with a glue gun, some tulle, pieces of string, lots of tiny shells and some pearls.
The rope is a little too thick but it's all I had and the little boat I found amongst my stash.
I die cut the words a few times and glued them together to finish off.
It's been on my 'to make list' to do a large heart shaped wreath like this to hang on my wall... one day I'll get around to it...
Well that's it for now
Have a great day

Octopus

Yoo Hoo!
How are you all?

It's been an interesting week here with two stabbings in the area and one young man died..One stabbing was in the afternoon at our local stores just as my son was arriving to get some groceries!
Our neighbours have split up and he moved out leaving all kinds of rubbish on the driveway, but not before he collared my husband to give him all the details about the split -Poor hubby didn't know what to say...
Then there were hospital visits - Hubby for his eyes which are deteriorating and he may have to have more surgery. Me for my 6 month spine check - All is well as long as I don't sit for too long which is difficult when it's too hot to venture out... So yesterday hubby went to golf and I kept my head down and made a few cards.

Today's card is for the July challenge at

Another new technique for me and a fun card...

I used 2 distress inks mixed with water for the splash effect and that little octopus was in my 'bits box' just waiting for the right moment or should I say background

How I wish I were at the beach now splashing about... I tell you we are just not used to this weather.
The trees are all shedding their leaves because the ground is so dry, but Ginger cat is loving it and doesn't even want to come in at night.

I hope you have a beautiful weekend, Thanks so much for your visit

Till soon

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge and Just Us Girls

Hello...
Did you have a good weekend? It was and still is, stinking hot here. I don't fare too well with heat as I've said, mostly because I can't sleep and that makes me good for nothing. Saturday I was near to tears... Anyway I decided to order one of those portable air cooling units that also offers some moist air and it arrived this morning. So far it's doing a good job!

Today I have a card that I'm entering at

And

I used alcohol Ink on parts of my die cuts...  I cut 2 of both the flower and the cup and hearts, one in white cardstock and one with the AI and fit them together... Then stamped and embossed the sentiment...

They were then arranged on a BG that I ink blended through a stencil.. Maybe a little busy for me but the cup kind of looked lost on a white BG.

I also want to take the opportunity to wish my lovely blog friend Darnell a belated Happy Birthday... So sorry I missed the actual day... My brain is fried!

I hope you all have a great day!

Till soon
