Historical Monuments Old and New

Hi there ...

This week Robyn has chosen the prompt word at

Historical Monuments

Liverpool is full of Historical Monuments and it seems every week more are added to the landscape. The thing is you really don't take much notice when you have passed them constantly for years ...

This is a relatively new one ... standing high up at the renovated dockside it is one of a tribute to the many dockers who lived and worked at the busy and prosperous port of Liverpool

This is another one

You can see that there is still building work in progress ... what was once a run down dockside has been transformed ... Luxury apartments, Marinas, Water sport areas and Restaurants are just some of the new features

I worked in the city for a long time and regularly went into the city to shop and to socialise ... We had so many night clubs that monuments were just regarded as a meeting place before we went off to enjoy the nightlife ...
These days I hardly ever go into the city and this week I haven't been well enough to go out and about taking photos so I'll share just a small few of our Historical Monuments ... photos NOT taken by me but a little bit of my city... You can click the Source links to find out more about them

Edward V11 ... The famous Liver Buildings in the background

The Gladstone monument

The MacKenzie Monument

The QueenVictoria Monument

The Lord Nelson Monument

They you are ... just of few of the scores in and around my city

I hope you'll link up your photos of
Historical Monuments this week at

Enjoy your day
