Changes...

Change happens all the time... Most of the time we don't see it coming till suddenly we're backed into a corner by things or people we least expected and it's difficult to accept.

I recently decided to step down from working with my Thursday Club group. What can I say? It was a very hard decision for me to make and something I've been wrestling with all summer... I've given 12 years of my life to helping them create every week, watched them grow, enjoyed seeing their faces and being part of their lives, the fun the laughter and often the tears.
I won't go into the facts, except to say that the church and the people who run the club are really sorry to see me go, they have been amazing, as has my husband who has supported me and believes I've made the right decision.  I'm just sorry it had to be this way. But... Who knows what is round the corner... I'm taking a well earned rest, and I'll still keep in touch...

I saw Jennifer McGuire recently did a video using jigsaw dies and whilst I don't have these dies, funnily enough, I got a couple of packs of jigsaw blanks last week... There's 3 in a pack and they only cost £1 from Inkylicious.

So I made one for a dear friend

Ink blending and embossing really worked well on this

I used stamps by Clearly Besotted and splattered with both water and TH pewter distress stain
I was going to ink blend the edges but decided against it.. I like the white.
It's a fun project and something different.

I hope you are enjoying your day ... The sun is shining here, Ginger boy is out enjoying it and Tabby is doing well. Just shows what a bit of TLC can do.

Till soon

Ros you are going to be missed in the club but you really must do what is best for you and your family. As you say you have given 12 years of your life helping and I would say you have done more than your fair share. It must have been so rewarding for you too. Time to move on.....

Fabulous card Ros and so creative. Gorgeous colours and the stamping looks so pretty. Great idea to make the jigsaw from it and I think it looks stunning just as it is....without the edges blended.
Sure is something different and I love it.
So very glad Ginger boy and Tabby and are on the mend...You must have given them loads of TLC x.
Well done you Ros on all your hard work at The Thursday Club xxx.

Twelve years is a looooong time to devote to something like you did Ros, so you definitely deserve a break! And I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you filled in once in awhile if they needed a backup? Either way, you did a wonderful thing by volunteering all that time and I'm sure they appreciate all you did! I'm sure something just as wonderful and maybe not as time consuming will come along for someone as talented as you very soon! Change is good! And your puzzle piece card is amazing Roz!! I love the blended colors and your embossed images are just lovely!! I'm sure your friends face is going to light up when she see's this beauty!! Take care my friend! :0)

I know this was a difficult decision for you, Ros, but you gave so much of yourself and now it's time for a break. You'll be missed. Whoever picks up the reins will have a hard act to follow. What a pretty idea for a card today! Beautiful background and silver embossed butterflies and dragonfly. Enjoy your beautiful weather. I'm glad to hear the kitties are well!

I'm sure it is the right decision, even though it doesn't feel good right now. Who knows what wonderful things are ahead for you, my dear blogging sister! So glad both kitty cats are doing well! I saw that video & I've gotta say--your card is my favorite! Love the white frame & the embossed unique & gorgeous butterflies! Plus, that Distress Stain is one of my favorites for splatters--great minds think alike--haha! Sending love & hugs, Greta PS--we finally got some rain & it was wonderful!

This is absolutely beautiful Ros and the ink blending in those pretty colours and the stamping with the gorgeous butterflies and dragonfly is just perfect. Running a group is very time consuming and twelve years is a very long time, and you should pat yourself on the back that you were there for them every week. I ran a group and set up things for them to do every week but I'm afraid I flagged after about two years and in the end the money coming in didn't square with the cost of the hall, so that made the decision to give it up a lot easier. Enjoy having a bit more free time, and as you say you can still keep in touch with those friends you made. x

There are so many seasons in our lives, and it sounds like it's time for this one to end. God has used you mightily in that role and maybe He wants someone else to step up, and you to move on. I love your ink blended puzzle! The embossing and pewter spatters look amazing on it!

Often change turns into a positive move, but also can be a very hard decision. Twelve years is a long time.

What a fun puzzle card for your friend, Ros. TFS Hugs..

Twelve years? I'm speechless! Seeing how much effort you put in over the few years I've followed your blog, I can't believe you had the energy for such a long time - as rewarding as it certainly has been. As so many others said before me: the decision may have been hard but as they say... you can't help others if you don't take good care of yourself and if this is the time to focus more on yourself, then that's just right. And yes: one door closes only for another to open up. And before I forget about it - I love that jigsaw card!

You have invested a lot of time and love into the Thursday Club Group, Ros! A person knows when it’s time to end when it’s been on your mind for awhile. I’m sure it tugs at your heart strings. Possibly visits with them at times would help to ease the transition. Your card is so lovely and fun with the puzzle! Beautiful color and great effect with the pewter distress stain! Take care, hugs!

I totally agree with what you said about changes. I'm sure you've done a more than fantastic job with the Thursday Club group and you'll be greatly missed. When one door closes, another door will open.
Your ink-blending and heat-embossing look fabulous. They look so smooth even on the puzzle surface(not completely flat). I love you left the edge white.

I'm sorry that leaving the Thursday Club has been such a hard decision Ros, and I hope you feel better about it as time goes on. Change is so hard but your 12 years service to others will not be forgotten by those you worked with.
The puzzle card is so pretty and I love the softly blended background. Your lucky friend will love receiving this.
I'm glad the cats are doing better.

Oh I know they are going to miss you. You really put your heart and soul into those projects and blessed them for many years. You have nothing to feel guilty about, but something to feel very proud of. The project is adorable. I love the pairing of the ink blended happy colors with the embossed butterflies.

The jigsaws look great! After twelve fabulous years I'm sure you've made the right decision. They must be so grateful to you and I've loved seeing the projects you've created for them.

Sorry to be so late visiting you, my friend. I have kept this post in my inbox since I first read it so I could respond when I had a quite moment to reflect. I could feel that you anguished over this decision, but in the end you made the choice that felt right to you. Those voices in our heads are there to guide us if we think things through and open ourselves, which you did. The group has been so, so blessed to have you teach them for 12 years and you will be sorely missed in that role! I believe that you're a giving person so you will find another opportunity that gives you joy and fulfillment! Thank you for sharing and keeping your friends posted!

Your card is incredible! I grew up in a "puzzle family" so falling in love with this beautiful card was easy! Hugs, Darnell

12 years of creating for and with them is a long time and while it is difficult to walk away, just think of the unbelievable impact you made on their lives. I'm sure you made the right decision for you. The jigsaw puzzle is a fantastic card base and your colors are stunning!
