Another Project

Hello and welcome...
It's a very misty Sunday here but hopefully the sun will break through later

I've been a bad blogger... It's been a week since I last checked in. All is well, it's just other things keeping me busy - My head seems to be full of things that I want to do and not enough time...sigh.
I do have something to share with you though ... Another personalized frame project that I made for a dear friend of mine

who lives in ' The Cottage' and yep, the family have a little schnauzer called Stanley. She's also a Christian so I know she will like the quote

It's a 7x5 frame and I amongst the bits and pieces I used to create this was a rose Rub-On, remember them? It had lost most of it's stickiness so I ran a glue roller over it and it worked a treat. I had some fake grass courtesy of AliExpress and the little bucket came from the works.

I'm off to visit some friends later... It's their 51st wedding anniversary!  I've still to wrap the gift yet and I want to visit your blogs so I'll get on...

Have a wonderful day and I'll be back soon (hopefully).

Life's A Beach

Hello and good morning lovely people!

Thanks so much for your kind wishes both for my DH and our family and friends...
Things are improving all round... Now all we need is some lovely Spring weather Lol!

I haven't done a great deal of crafting but I have a little light up project to share with you today

I made a little beach house with a battery operated tealight inside - The house is made from card and I added hessian to the roof and a few die cuts plus a door made from lolly sticks, painted with a tiny link glued on for the handle

The base it sits on measure just 4x4¾ so it's quite small and I used fine (used) glass paper to cover it

The die cut anchor was covered and embossed a few times to get a rusty looking effect and I added a piece of broken chain - You can also see a flap at the back of the house to insert or change the candle

Here it is lit... The windows are on 3 sides, lined with vellum that I drew a few lines on

A few bits and pieces to decorate and that's it... Cute huh?

Ok... I'm off to catch up with your blogs now...

Wishing you all a lovely day

Birthday Boy

Hello everyone...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

What a hectic time we're having here...It was DH's 75th Birthday on Tuesday  (Heck I can't believe my hubby is 75!)
On the same day his best friend was rushed into hospital, then my brother took ill. Just to make matters worse hubby's doctor asked to see him as he thinks he may have something called MGUS... No, I'd never heard of it either - It's to do with his blood but it will be awhile before we get to know as the NHS is in dire straights here so appointments are few and far between....
Lots of other not so good things also happened but somehow we still managed to celebrate DH's birthday after I convinced him that no one was going to die. He's very much a panicker.
Anyway I thought I'd share a card I made for hubby together with an exploding box

Quite a simple card really... But I was all out of inspiration
Here's the little box I put together

... With one floppy balloon that refuses to stand up Lol!

At least the cake looks good! Except it's a fake cake haha! Hubby is not much of a cake eater - He prefers pastries and pies

We've no plans for today and I'm hoping things settle down, I could do with a peaceful day...
I hope yours is peaceful too filled with love

CAS Stencil Challenge

Hello there...

The  CAS Stencil Challenge for February is to use powdered inks...

Sometime ago I was given a few Brushos and when I tried them I made such a horrible mess that I never bothered again... Well this time I watched the videos and gave it another try - I can't say that I had a great success - I definitely need more practice
Anyway, I did make a card... using a circle stencil from Memory Box and the negative or second part where you lay the wet stencil onto another piece of card and here's the result using 2 shades of green powders

It made me think of bubbles in water so for fun I die cut a seahorse using thick acetate...

The die left everything intact and just created an imprint which I cut around... and believe me at this time of year the sea and the beach are never more than a thought away...
At least the sun is shining right now...

Have a lovely Sunday

CAS Mix Up

Hello... Happy Friday!

Just popping in with a card I made for the CAS Mix Up Challenge

I did die cutting, heat embossing and stamping...

I die cut the triangles - One from a piece of painted and splattered card, then die cut a leaf and covered it in Versamark ink...

....Added layers of embossing powders to get the dimension and dry embossed the card front before layering it all up.
Then just stamped the sentiment and heat embossed that too.

And that's me for today...

Have a good one!

CAS Watercolour Challenge

Good morning...
Two posts in two days? Well I had time to play yesterday so I made a few cards, One of which is for

Marcia is hosting this month's challenge and she has chosen Red & Pink for the month of 'love'

If you follow my blog you'll see that I hardly ever use pink, I like using red for flowers but I'm not good with pink for some reason, but... I had a go

I stamped a poppy onto ordinary cardstock and embossed it with a mix of silver and gold embossing powder - The stamp is an old one by Altenew and really doesn't have many lines to it...

So I painted it with Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries DI in an attempt to 'define' the poppy... Not sure if I succeeded that well...
I used a rectangle die to cut around the image first, then turned it to get a diagonal shape on the bottom part. The sentiment is part of a set of 4 dies I picked up at The Works a while ago and after cutting it I covered it with Versamark ink and then embossed it too.
So there... I've tried pink Lol!

Enjoy your day and I'll be back soon

With Love

Hello... How are you?
It's warmed up here and thankfully all the ice has melted...

Whilst I still had those tulips stamps and dies out on my desk I decided to make one more card...
It's my friends' Wedding anniversary in a few weeks so this is for her and her husband

I placed the copic coloured tulips on a criss-cross die cut background...I don't know what it's called, I got it from AliExpress and it's bigger than shown... I just trimmed it down

I dry embossed a frame on the front piece and folded some vellum on either side.... Stamped and embossed the sentiment and that's it.

Wishing you all a lovely day and thanks so much for your visit

City Crafter Challenge

Hi there...
Happy February!!

You may have noticed that City Crafter Challenge blog is hosting it's final challenge this week...
I couldn't let the chance to make a card go by... I spent 7 amazing years as a DT member here and got to finally meet Kirsty in person some years ago... What a beautiful lady she is and such an amazing person. Being on this team not only gave me the confidence to keep on creating but it brought me into a world of like minded people who I am so happy to call good friends....

So this one is for you Kirsty... It will be winging it's way to Vegas - Grateful thanks for believing in me, for your friendship and for all the hard work it took to make CCCB a success...

I pulled out a background I made ages ago with spray inks and gold paint splatters

...Stamped and white embossed the Beautiful Bouquet:Ranunculus by Wplus9
The sentiment with the stamp couldn't have said it better

Wishing you every happiness Kirsty
