Oh Deer

Hello! Happy Halloween!
Can you believe it's the last day of October already? Christmas is getting ever closer and I have another card to share

I made this a few weeks ago ... playing with embossing paste ... it makes for good snow when randomly applied

I love those deer ... It's a Penny Black stamp and I coloured it with distress inks

Are you trick or treating this evening? It never used to be such a big thing here in the UK but it's catching on fast... We will get a steady flow of children calling shortly for their sweets
Personally I preferred how it was when I was a kid ... Duck apple night we called it ... We had fun, no scary costumes and no way would our parents allow us to knock on strangers doors for sweets... I confess I do love to see the little children dressed up though

Whatever you are doing have fun and be safe

Till soon

Foxy Christmas and More Than an Itch

Hello and good morning ...
I hope you are well

It's a weird title to my post I know but I'll start with my card - A Foxy Christmas card

I haven't been able to craft much lately due to illness and it felt good to finally come up with something yesterday evening... I even got to try my new paints (Gansai Tambi) which I love

The cut out on the card was done on my Cameo and I did a little painting behind it ... The fox is from the Wplus9 set winter pals ... he was coloured using Promarkers and then covered in glossy accents

More than an itch

Those of you who read my blog know that I was diagnosed with eczema early this year and it's an autoimmune disease... It's more than just the awful itch and the problem skin which is bad enough!
There are times when the immune system works so much overtime deciding it doesn't like this or that so eventually it just burns out...
It leaves me with no energy at all ... just taking a shower is a huge effort and I feel so ill with it. That is how it's been for the last 3 weeks until I started to take some anti inflammatory tablets. For some reason they calm everything and make me feel so much better, though I can't take them long term.

I have to go for more tests in a week or so just to be sure there is nothing else underlying but right now I feel so much more in the land of the living and hopefully on the road to recovery.
Thanks so much for your well wishes and I'll get around to visiting your blogs soon

Have a good day and take care

Hugs

Hello friends

It's time for a new challenge over at City Crafter and this week Marina has set the challenge to create a card or project featuring

 "Creatures Of  The Night"

Here's my card

I did some sponging for my BG and added some die cuts to create my scene

Owls are definitely creatures of the night and whilst I don't like my own cats to be out at night ... there are many who are creatures of the night

Our Guest Designer this week is Denise Price ... winner of week 281... Hop on over to the Blog to see what Denise and the rest of the team have created this week

I hope you'll be inspired to join in with our challenge

Yesterday saw the start of the Cat Lovers Blog Hop Here

So I'll be linking up my Purrfect Friends kitty card there

A Christmas Shaker

Hello... How are you?

Just when I thought I was getting over this bug, it decided to hit me again ... I feel like hibernating till Spring comes along....

Anyway.. I have a card that I made last week... Just a Christmas shaker

...Using the cityscape die and although you can't see it I cut it a few times and layered it up so the shaker has quite a bit of dimension

It was so nice to hear your views on my post regarding all the new releases and it seems we all pretty much agree... best not to get caught up in the frenzy and get the most out of what we have

I confess I have bought something recently ... I treated myself to the Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints - I haven't tried them yet but I'm hoping they'll be a good investment

I hope you have a lovely weekend ...

Take care

Puppies

Hello ... Happy Thursday!

It's a beautiful autumn day here ... breezy but sunny. Where I live there are tree lined roads and avenues and the trees are just spectacular in rich golds, yellows and reds ... It's so mesmerising!

You remember a few months back one of my lifelong friends was seriously ill and I spent a fair bit of time at the hospital... Well, she celebrates a birthday in a few days and I am so happy that she made it. Just before she got so sick she had bought 2 puppies and maybe the thought of leaving them helped pull her back, so it's only natural I would make (another) puppy card for her birthday

I just love these Avery Elle stamps... but you already guessed that huh?

And I'm going to be using those MFT label sentiments forever I think
The cloud dies are by Memory Box and of course there's a piece of my sponged and water splattered CS cut into a little hillside

I'm slowly getting over my bug but it's left me quite tired, still, I have club night tonight and I can't let them down ... fortunately Pat has created a project for them so no pressure this week. I am blessed to have such lovely friends....

Have a beautiful day

Neutrals

Hello there...

Every Tuesday my sweet friend Wen Sylvestre runs at photographic link up where people share all different sorts of things ...

It occurred to me that most of my home has neutrals... pictures, ornaments even wallpapers so I'm going to try and link up something each week...

Here's what I have for this week

I got this bust a few years ago ... there was something about her face and the imperfectness that attracted me

Not easy to photograph but still, it's neutral

Wishing you a lovely day

City Crafter 284

Good morning!
How's your week going so far? I'm feeling a lot better and your kind wishes have really helped so thanks so much

This week my dear friend Stella is hosting the challenge at City Crafter
The theme... Into The Wood

The challenge... Create a card or project and add something related to wood. It could be an embellishment, a woodgrain stamp , an embossingfolder with woodprint etcetera. But NO tree!

I went with some woodgrain paper and a a little wooden embellishment which I covered in gold paint

I actually made this as a birthday card for my friend Pat... Sponging and splattering white CS and I used my Cameo to cut out the word Love

Our Guest Designer this week is the very talented Donna of Room in a Cupboard blogspot
Hop on over and take a look at her lovely creations... And if you are looking for inspiration the team have lots more up on the City Crafter Blog for you ...

Wishing you all a lovely day

Gather

Hello

Mandy has picked the word prompt "Gather" for us this week at

I guess it can be interpreted in different ways...

This little guy certainly knows how to gather those nuts and push them into his cheeks

Then there are those who gather for a photo

...Or to protect their property when an invader appears... The idea is not to give each other eye contact

This one was taken in Mijas some years ago...A square where people gather
For what you may ask?

To get a plate of paella from this huge pan

Link up your prompt photos with us at

And hop on over to the Blog to see what the rest of the team is sharing this week....

Have a beautiful day

Another Christmas Card and A Rant

Hello there ...

I'm feeling pretty rough today, like I'm coming down with something... sigh
I did manage to make a couple more cards using my sponged backgrounds - here's one

Is it just me or does anyone else get exasperated with all the new releases? I mean much as I love them I would prefer that companies didn't release so much every month ... Maybe just a couple of stamps sets, dies etc.,

You'd have to be pretty well off to buy everything so if you finally decided on the ones you want and can affordby time you get them and find time to create something, the next release is only weeks away... And just how do you pick just a couple of things???
Haven't we all got stamps and dies that have either never been used or hardly used?

So I'm still using stuff from way back when ... mixing and matching and changing up the designs... Like this Memory Box Deer Trio die but only using one of them ... He looks like he's blending into the background but IRL the card is quite dimensional.

Ok, rant over... I need a lie down Lol!

Thanks for stopping by ...

Hugs

Because I love these colours

Hello...
Just popping in with another card sponged in my (at the moment) favourite colours

I stamped and embossed the flowers from Doodle Buds by Wplus9

And added sentiments by MFT... Quite simple really but fun to do

I also wanted to say thank you to the lovely Jinny at Colour Me for giving This card an honourable mention... I'm thrilled!

I hope you are having a good day ... the sun is still shining here

Till soon

City Crafter 283

Hello...

This week I'm hosting the challenge over at

The challenge theme is "Paste It" and we are asking that you use either
Texture (embossing) Paste, Crackle Paste or Crackle Paint
somewhere on your project

There are lots of recipes around on how to make your own paste but I've included This link for those of you who wish to use it

I stencilled some embossing paste onto a piece of DP and added some glitter
It's easy to dress up papers that are perhaps a little plain

Our Guest Designer this week is winner of week 277 Karren a very talented lady from New Zealand... click the link to go visit her blog and hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what my friends are sharing ... There's a GD spot on offer to this week's winner so I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us...

Thanks so much for stopping by ... enjoy your day

Christmas card and Sponging Tip

Hello there...

This is probably my first Christmas card this year ... When I don't have any inspiration I tend to paint or sponge with ink pads onto scrap pieces of card and then I have them to use at a later date
Here's what I came up with

I find that different CS takes the ink in different ways and sometimes it's not very neat ... I'm no Laura Bassen when it comes to sponging!  I've found a solution for this... After I've sponged I spray the card with a little water and gently go over it with a baby wipe... It evens up the inks and leaves nice little water marks... I tend then to use white/ gold or silver paint to create little splatters... Works for me anyway....

The little deer is a die from Stampendous (Pop Up Forest) I have the stamps as well but I love the dramatic effect with a silhouette and if you're not confident colouring your images it's foolproof

To be honest this card was going to be a snow globe but I changed my mind... I like it just as it is, not too fussy... I glued down the deers feet and body but I used a foam pad to pop up his head, it just adds a little dimension, like he's looking at that star.
The sentiment was computer generated in case you wanted to know

Have a beautiful day and take care

Weather

Good morning lovely friends

I've chosen the word "Weather" as this week's prompt over at

Talking about the weather is a British pastime... Honestly, we strike up conversations with complete strangers at bus stops, train station, shops etc., with talk of the weather. We complain endlessly about it... It's so cold, it's too hot... It's too wet ...
Actually we are very fortunate, we don't have tornados, earthquakes or hurricanes... We have 4 seasons that perhaps are totally unbalanced but in my part of the country rain is probably more frequent than anything else

I remember when my son was only 2 ... I'd saved desperately for a little holiday with my Mum in a caravan near the sea ... there we were on the beach, the sky was black and we were in raincoats carrying umbrellas but having such fun haha!

It's nice to have a downpour when it's followed by sunshine

Then again we could have sunshine one day and wake to this the next day

I guess that's why our weather is such a talking point ... It's completely unpredictable!

Share your weather photos with us at

And hop over to the blog to see what others are sharing this week

Have a wonderful day

CASing cards

Hi there

Yesterday my friend Pat came round to do some crafting... Sometimes we come up with a new card, other times Pat likes to CASe one of my cards and occasionally we trawl Pinterest to find some we can CASe together... The latter is what we did yesterday

First we were inspired by this card

from an amazing designer at MFT - Donna Mikasa

Here's our version ...

This is the only skyline die I had so we cut it a few times and layered it after first applying various ink pads and water to a piece of CS to create a colourful look

The second card we CASed is this card

by a super talented lady ... Maureen Merritt (WPlus9)
Fortunately I had the same stamp set by WPlus9 and here's our take

If you have never visited Donna or Maureen's blogs please click on the links and check out their lovely designs... I just know you'll love them as much as I do.

Thanks so much for your visit... Have a great day!
