Colours

Good morning

This week Ariadne has chosen the word prompt at
The word is Colours

Now I expect you are wondering about this pretty watercolour - Its actually a tissue box... Normally I try to buy one that fits in with the colour scheme of the room it's going in but I was drawn to this because of the watercolour effect and those lovely colours. How I would love to be able to paint like this.

There's not a lot of colour around at the moment. Dark winter clothes, pale skin. The trees are bare and nothing looks clean. I'm desperately waiting for the Spring flowers to bloom

Colours that make you feel warm and happy.

Whilst travelling on a bus abroad I took this photo of a Pirates play land for children ... I just love the bright pretty colours

I tell you I am so fed up of the cold and fed up of winter - I want the summer to arrive and colour to abound.

What will you share with us this week? Hop on over to the Blog to see what everyone else is sharing

Have a great day

Gift Card and Birthday Card

Hello! It's Friday and the weekend is almost here...
It's been an exhausting week ... Doctors, Chiropractor, Chiropodist, and I would also have been going for my hospital dermatology appointment had they not cancelled on me ... Getting old is such fun! You get to meet so many medical people Lol!

My DH was away last weekend visiting his brother and he collapsed whilst he was there hence the doctor's visit this week ...It seems his labyrinthitis has returned, whilst I've been suffering with an old back problem.

However, I have had a little crafting time and I made a gift card holder for a friend's birthday, then decided that perhaps I should do a birthday card to go with it.

So this is the gift card holder and I used the pretty Woodware flower stamp again colouring it with Copics... This stamp was a sale item (£3.99) and I really like it
Here's the inside...

I think that verse is so funny... And here's my card

I stamped a few times at different angles and just cut what I wanted to use ...It just gives another look to the stamp

I had those little scraps of striped paper in my 'bits' box and the keen eyed amongst you will recognize some very old PTI paper that I used for the die cut word 'Enjoy' which is a Sue Wilson die... my UK friends can find it Here

I hope you all have a great day and enjoy your weekend

PTI Make It Monday

Good morning...

I have a card to share which uses the technique from this weeks' Make It Monday at PTI
The technique is Watercolour resist using rubber cement

I have been unable to obtain rubber cement here in the UK but I have an art masking fluid which is a similar thing and I've used it before on projects... So here's my card

It's sort of like butterflies rising from the sea... The sunshine here has me thinking of the beach - hence the colours Lol!
I stuck to a white CS for the base and used Gansai Tambi paint... I love that colour

The butterflies are from PTI as is the sentiment and die... I also used PTI's Classic Craft ink to stamp the sentiment then went over it again in Versamark and heat embossed it with clear E/B. The antenna are cut from another die - I smooshed the PTI ink pad over a scrap of CS and again added Versamark and heat embossed it before cutting the antenne

It's a fun technique... Give it a try

Have a beautiful day

Hello!
Happy Tuesday to you ... Lovely to have you visiting me today

This week it's the turn of my dear friend Stella to host for us and her theme is  Polka Dots

A simple challenge ... Just add Polka Dots to your project or card

I know you've seen this style of card from me before ... I love that cityscape and it's great for a male birthday card... which this was. In this case I layered up the cityscape both in black and some CS that I painted and splattered

I love the look of the b/w polka dots along with the striped paper

For the 4th week running we have the lovely Andie Miller Guesting with us ... Click the link on her name to go visit her blog
We'd love it if you popped on over to the City Crafter Blog too and see what our team have created ... maybe you'll be inspired to join us this week?

Just a Note

Hello... How are you?

It's a wet and miserable day here in Liverpool... Hubby has gone away to visit his brother and I am having a peaceful day... I saw a quote on Pinterest this morning and thought it was so apt
"I am currently unsupervised... The possibilities are endless"

I have a little card to share using another Woodware stamp ...I got to Skype with my dear blog friend Stella last evening and whist I was waiting I started to colour these pretty flowers

I had a scrap of CS that I previously had run through my printer to colour in Cashmere Mist so I used that to stamp and emboss on then used my copics

The banner sentiment looks like it is on wood grain paper but actually I just ran one of my copics W-5, across a scrap of the white linen CS ... I loved the effect it gave so punched out a few little hearts too

That's all I'm doing for now ... I've decided that I'm going to curl up with my kitties and watch a movie... Bliss!

Have a lovely day my friends

Woodware Owls

Hello!
We have sunshine today and it's so welcome after all the rain and dark days we've had lately...

I recently bought a couple of Woodware stamps that were in the sale, one of which features owls, and today I'm sharing a card that I made using that stamp

The not so perfect colouring was done with Copics (I'm still learning) and I stamped the image twice so I could cut out the little owl and the wings to the other two and give it some dimension

It's just a fun card, not my normal style I know but I couldn't resist these guys

I hope your day is a special one too - Thanks so much for stopping by

Till soon

City Crafter 299

Good Morning!

I'm hosting the challenge over at City Crafter today and I've chosen the theme
Negativity

Create a card or project using the negative part of a die
(The part that's left after you cut out the shape)

Here's my card

I did some sponging and stamping on my card base and cut out a butterfly on another piece of card to use the negative

Just to finish it off a little I cut some antennae from a scrap of paper and added some sequins
The BG stamp is by Woodware and the sentiment stamp is from a set by Wplus 9

Our month long Guest Designer is the lovely Andie Miller ... Hop on over to the blog to see what she's created for us and check out the projects from the rest of our team

The challenge over at AAA Cards at the moment is Sequins

So I'd like to enter my card there too ...

Like my sentiment says, I hope you have a beautiful day!

I {Heart} You

Hello there...
Did you have a lovely Valentine's day?
I was quite spoiled with flowers, chocolates a cute teddy bear and even a sweater - I got to his heart

See, 2 days before I took DH for a birthday meal at Viva Brazil in the city ... They have a barbecue of 15 different meats and an amazing hot and cold buffet ... It's all you can eat all night long ... DH was in heaven! And in my case it's true that 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach' hee hee!

I'm sharing the card I made for him for Valentine's - To be honest my inspirations was completely dried up and I resorted to putting together a card using some of the many bits and pieces I had stored

Not your regular Valentine I know, but he loved it

I also did a little book folding having seen the amazing work by a lady called Clara Maffei Here
I loved those animals and here's mine

Kinda cute huh?

I'll be back tomorrow for the new challenge at City Crafter ... Have a great day and thanks for looking in

Up

Hello and Happy Valentines Day!

It's time for a new word prompt at

This week it's Mandy's choice and the word she chose is Up!

Well, I wouldn't like that guy's job for anything... I don't do heights at all and this is what he is Up on

This huge bridge goes right across the river in Lisbon and carries vehicles as well as a train line below
I took the photo whilst cruising in the Mediterranean and much as I loved cruising, my nightmare was having to go Up the steps to get on the ship

Having a fear of heights is no fun... But my great niece has no fear whatsoever... Since a mere toddler she has climbed Up anything she could - the higher the better

The Liverpool Eye was a doddle to her

Bet she'd love to go Up on this one, built in the side of the cliff at La Coruna

Take a peek at what my friend's are sharing Up on the Blog today...

Just as a side note ... I have spent ages trying to upload the photos on my post...Blogger is not co-operating so I had to drag and drop and even then they were not right ...

Enjoy your Valentine's Day

Till soon

Birthdays

Hello... Happy Friday!

There are 2 birthdays to celebrate today ... one is my DH and one is my blog friend Greta!
Greta and I have discovered so many things we have in common it's spooky... We've never met and live thousands of miles apart but we have a connection...So....

Happy Birthday Greta!!
Have an amazing day!

Today I'm sharing the card I made for my husband

It's kind of a peaceful scene ... done with some ink blending and stamps

I was given some stamps years ago, they're oriental type stamps and I noticed that one of them looked like water so I stamped and embossed it with clear E/B and used a white gel pen to draw under some of the ripples

When it came to cutting the sentiment ... I tried it in white and didn't like it so added a black one, offsetting it a little and I still didn't like it... I ended up covering a piece of CS with glitter tape and cutting out the sentiment again and adding that - again offsetting it... Finally it looked okay to me

I hope you have a lovely day and a great weekend ... Be safe

Till soon

It's a Squirrel

Good morning!

How's your week going? It's been a busy one here - I caught up with an old friend yesterday, we haven't seen each other in such a long time...We met many years ago dog walking. I had my GSD Holly and Ree had a Dalmatian called Moby... We walked together for years and then within 6 months of each other we sadly lost both our dogs.
It was good to catch up and I hope we will do it more often now.

So... I told you I was playing with water colour last week, well, here's another Thank You card on it's way to a blog friend over in the USA

Both the tree and the squirrel are stamps and dies from Stampendous...I only partially die cut the tree so I would have a base to paint

This is like one of our squirrels here in the UK, he just blends in to the trees ... And whilst I don't usually use ribbons, the pretty ribbon bow on here was tied around the gift I received so I put it to good use and it's heading right back to my friend...

I have club night tomorrow and it's a Valentines night so I have 20+ owl treat boxes prepared and 40 cards for them to make... It's taken me a few late nights I can tell you! But I know it will be good fun

Oh, and I made Top Pick over at Make My Monday and a Top Pick at Classy Cards n' Such this week ... doesn't get much better than that!

Well my crafting buddy Pat is due in a few hours so I'd better get on ... Enjoy your day

Take care

City Crafter 298

Hello and Good Morning
It's time for a new challenge at

And this week we have Kirsty hosting for us and our month long Guest Designer is the lovely

Kirsty has picked a photo inspiration challenge for us

Here's my take...

It's quite simple really... Just some watercolour a Cameo cut Eiffel Tower, some heart gems and a glitter heart

I love that quote and I think it's apt for Kirsty's challenge as I know she loves Paris

I printed the sentiment from my computer straight onto the watercolour cs

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week and I'm heading over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the rest of the team have created ... Come and join me

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for your visit

Till soon

Markings

Good Morning!

I've picked the word Markings for our prompt this week at

So many things you could go with, like road markings

Markings on an animal

Or an insect

There are markings on a football pitch

...Transport vehicles

And I even saw these markings on a bridge in Lisbon

Can you come up with something else? Share with us at

And go visit the blog to see what my friends are sharing this week
