City Crafter 364

Hello how are you?

I'm due home later today so this is another scheduled post for the new challenge at
This week Marina is hosting a super challenge ...
Out of This World

The challenge is to create a project using anything to do with Space... Planets, Stars, Or use the phrase "Out of This World"

I chose to do a galaxy card for Ross my adored Great Nephew who recently celebrated his birthday and loves anything to do with space

Whenever I have done a galaxy card before I used sprays but this time I used my watercolour paints on ordinary cardstock

After adding various paint colours and a few dries in between I did some splattering with gold paint and white paint...I really love the result but probably could never replicate it

Now it's over to you ... Go visit the City Crafter Blog to see what the team have created and link up your Space creations with us this week.

Have a lovely day and I'll catch up with you all soon

City Crafter 363

Good Morning...

I've just time to do my post for the City Crafter challenge before I finish packing....

My lovely friend Stella is hosting this week, the theme is Sunshine

Stella is asking that we create a project and add a sun or sunshine...

I went for the latter with a very simple card

Two little birdies enjoying the sunshine that I created just using distress ink and some water droplets

I also added some Nuvo drops and though they do look yellow the colour is actually Key Lime
My sentiment was computer generated but having the word sunshine is NOT a requirement and in case you are wondering the font is a free one downloaded from Pinterest called 'joy like sunshine' - Quite apt

Head on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the team have to inspire you ... I do hope you will join in our challenge... Please note that as I am away, I won't be able to leave any comments this week but I will catch up with you all when I am home

Have a lovely week and take care

MFT Seagulls

Good Morning...

Did you have a good weekend? We were at my friend's wedding on friday and I was totally shattered by Saturday ... It was a lovely day and the bride looked stunning - Here's a peek of us together

I even managed to get on the dance floor

My Brother Ron celebrates his birthday in a few days but hubby and I are going away tomorrow so we can't be with him - Still, I made a fun card for him

As soon as I saw these stamps and dies by MFT I fell for them ... The cards made by the MFT design team using this set really appealed to me so I had to have the set. The fence is not part of the set - It's by Impression Obsessins and it works well with the MFT set

My brother often visits the seafront , sometimes cycling or walking and sometimes just to take his Grandchildren Ross and Sophia to play, so I know he will appreciate this quirky card

That sentiment just makes me giggle...

I'll catch up with you all when I get home and wish you a lovely day

Take care

Painted flowers

Hello there ...

A new challenge started at Double D Challenges yesterday  hosted by Dar's team
Flowers Galore

As I'm on Diane's team I'm not obliged to create a project but I like to when I have the time. Unfortunately time was something I didn't have to spare these past few weeks... But then today I remembered a card I did a while ago which I never posted ...
I painted it free hand and I suppose I just didn't think it was that good, but what the heck! It fits the challenge and also the challenge at CAS Watercolour where my friend Mac is guest designer
So here we go

I'm not sure what they are supposed to be - Maybe cornflowers?

I sent this to my aunt and she liked it - And I feel better to know I've supported 2 of my friends

I'm off for some more Acupuncture shortly ... I must say that it has helped enormously with the sciatica so that's a good thing.

Have a great day

City Crafter 362

Hello there ...

Kirsty is hosting this weeks' challenge at City Crafter and she has given us an inspiration photo to work with

Source

Kirsty is asking that we create a project using the photo as inspiration and to tell us about it

Well, I've not long come home from a beach holiday and that's what my card represents

I didn't quite get to use a hammock but I did spend a few days on one of the balinese beds around the pool of our hotel overlooking the Mediterranean... Pure bliss!

The die I used to make this was from an Ebay shop.. They come from China and are so inexpensive if you don't mind waiting a few weeks - I coloured it all with Copics and promarkers and did a little ink blending for the BG.

The sentiment stamp is a very old one that came with a free set from a craft magazine

Hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what the rest of the team have created and I hope you'll be inspired to join us this week.

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by my blog

Rainy days and Mondays

Hello...
Yes it's wet and cool here just for a change Lol! It's been a crazy start to the week but lets first start with a little card I made...

I always wanted to do a card with that sentiment and recently I got this little Eiffel tower die so this is what I came up with...

The BG and the dies have been done using my paints and as always my raindrops are done with Glossy Accents.

Feel free to move on or carry on reading if you want to know how my monday has gone so far...

First thing this morning I decided to put a colour on my hair because it was so bleached from the sun in Majorca... Hubby liked it but for me it was just too light and I have my BFF's wedding at the end of the week so gotta look decent.
Anyway I applied a dark blonde colour to tone it down a little and checked my watch... Then I did a few jobs around the house, went back to check my watch but it was the same time... The battery had gone and I have no idea how long the colour was on but suffice to say I am now a shade of mid brown Lol! Then whilst trying to dry it, all the lights fused and I had to get my son to fix everything.
But seeing as I've been suffering badly with sciatic for the past 3 weeks, none of this fazed me. I did visit the doctor on friday but the whole system went down as the NHS was hacked... So I didn't get anywhere...
My hubby couldn't go to his monday morning golf as he had a major problem with his car yesterday and had to get that seen too after which he took me to a health clinic where I got to see an acupuncturist ... I've never ever had this done before and it was an experience I can tell you ... But I feel so much better and I am going back again later in the week.

Yep, rainy days and mondays... I hope you are having a better start to the week

Take care and enjoy your day

Sail Away...

Hello and good morning from a beautiful sunny Liverpool...

We arrived back home from Majorca yesterday and I'm trying to catch up with things in between a ton of laundry...  Hubby and I had a wonderful break - You all know I love that Island ... It's my happy place, where I go to relax and on occasions heal but I was so glad to see my son and my cats, especially Ginger cat. He was quite unwell when I came home from visiting my Aunt in Lincoln but with a lot of love and care he improved before we went away. I'm thankfully that in Mikey's care he is now fully recovered and out enjoying the sunshine again.

It was hot and sunny every day despite the breeze from the sea -  Last year it rained virtually all week! And guess what? In just under 2 weeks time we are flying back to pick up a cruise ship heading for Italy, Sicily, Menorca and Corsica... Well someone's got to do it and it might as well be me Lol!

Here's a little card I made when hubby told me about the cruise...

When I mentioned my visit with my Aunt a few weeks back ... I told you we never stopped laughing, well one of the reasons for that was that we decided to teach ourselves how to crochet some little animals. We thought it would be easy...All we had to do was crack the 'magic circle' thing, or so we thought... It was a hoot! Eventually I did managed to make a cat though she's not perfect... If you look at her legs you can see where I went wrong

And when it came to the skirt, the pattern said 'pick up the 2 stitches you left'... Um..what 2 stitches? Lol! So I kinda made it up as I went. Then I didn't have any eyes or noses so I improvised with gems for the eyes and a felt cut heart for her nose, but you know, I am quite pleased with my first attempt.

Before I finish I just want to say a big thank you to CAS Mix Up for an Outstanding Design award and CAS Watercolour Challenge for a Top Pick ... And thanks to all of you who visited my blog and left comments for me whilst I was away... I really appreciate it

Have a beautiful day

City Crafter 361

Hello from sunny Majorca!
(Only kidding ... this is a prescheduled post... from a rather cold UK)

It's time for another challenge at

This week Marina is hosting with a challenge to make a projects related to

(maybe the arrival of a baby, the arrival of Spring or the arrival at an airport)

I chose to make a card welcoming a new baby using a digital image

I coloured the giraffe with Copics and decided to make him a little different from the usual colour then  I used my Gansai Tambi paints to watercolour a background on ordinary cardstock -

I tried out some Nuvo jewel drops and quite like the effect, even though I have a million sequins- I bet you do too!

The team have created lovely projects to inspire you - Head on over to the City Crafter Blog to take a peek.

Have a great day and I hope to catch up with you later in the week.

Till soon

Double D Challenge

Good Morning friends...

I'm posting today for the challenge at

where team Diane are hosting a

Red/White/Blue + Stars & Stripes Challenge

Basically you can use
Red/White/Blue And or Stars & Stripes

Here's what I came up with

I kind of used just about everything Lol!

The boots and bows I cut on my Cameo and then coloured them and covered them in glossy accents...

...With a computer generated sentiment. I hand cut a kite from stars and stripes DP and stamped, embossed and blended a BG, finally adding some glossy accents raindrops

Yep, I think I covered all bases...

Head on over to the Blog to see what everyone else came up with and come play along with us!

Please note that as I am away I will not be able to leave you comments this week

Take care and thanks so much for your visit

City Crafter 360

Good morning!

It's Tuesday and that means a new challenge over at

Where the lovely Stella is hosting for us and her challenge to us is

You Can Do It

Stella is asking that we make our own background...

...Using your inks, paints, markers etc., in your favourite colours and techniques

Well, you know I love to stencil but I chose to stamp for this challenge but I did use my favourite colours - blues and greens

And I had a little fun adding the word "enjoy" to a piece of acetate so it kind of sways

I used a new set of stamps (unknown make) given to me by a friend, and various inks. I've always wanted to try stamping a background but I never seem to get the proportions right but I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out.

The only down side is that I didn't used my Misti so the stamping is not as precise as it should be...

We'd love you take a minute to go see what the rest of the team have created up on the City Crafter Blog and hopefully play along with us this week.

Tomorrow I'll be on a plane heading off for  a week in the sunshine so I'll catch up with you all soon

Have a wonderful week...
