Thinking of you ...

Hello ... I hope you are all well ...
I am just popping in to mention a couple of things ...
First of all ... Thank You to the lovely ladies at CR84FN for picking This set as one of the Terrific Top 3 last week ... I am truly honoured!

Secondly I want to tell you about a fantastic giveaway at Ingvild Bolme's blog Here

Just look at all the gorgeous Prima supplies

I confess I had never visited Ingvild's blog before ... I followed a link from my blog buddy Tracy

Ingvid is from Norway ... Stavanger in fact ... A place I visited for the first time this year and loved ... Norway had a memorial just this weekend for the terrible loss of life both from a terrorist bomb and from the horrendous massacre of beautiful young people by a deranged gunman ... If you wish to you can follow this on Ingvild's blog

This month here in the UK we remembered the people who were killed and maimed in the London bombings ...

And just this weekend ... many will be stunned and devastated by the senseless loss of life in Denver  USA  ...

My thoughts are with you all ... people I have never met but I have shed many tears for ...

Make it Green ...

...Or Red ... But not both
That's the challenge at Jingle Belles this week ... picked by the lovely June Houck
I had no idea what I was going to come up with ... only that I wanted green
So here we are ...

The sentiment stamp I won a while ago from Suzanne ... and this is the first time I've used it ... the little snowman stamp was in my big box of barely used stamps ... again never used ...
And my meagre colouring is not marvellous ...

... But it is green ... with no red

La Coruna

It's a cold day here in Liverpool so I'm taking you to La Coruna ... Northern Spain

After leaving Gibraltar we spent a day at sea before arriving at La Coruna

This is a glimpse of the port we sailed into ... La Coruna is known as the city of glass ... The balconies are encased in glass giving protection from the cold winter wind that blows up from the ocean

Never having visited this part of Spain ... we opted for a coach tour known as "Leisurely Coruna"... and discovered that the reason it is called leisurely is because the coach drove so slowly I could have walked quicker Lol!
The north and south of the city (the south being on the mainland) are connected by a narrow piece of land making it an Isthmus ... though there is little distance between the two ... the north jutting out into the Atlantic has a wet and cooler climate to that of the south ... and due to the Celtic heritage they still have mystical festivals ... kind of like white witches ... too spooky for me!

In the north we were taken to see Hercules Tower

The lighthouse built by the Romans for the port entrance ... only to find that this of course is a replica
Then it was a 'leisurely' drive ... for lunch which was a restaurant high up in the northern part of the city where we were greeted by these guys

The view was spectacular from here ... but not so clear on the day we visited

But I loved that there was a lot of greenery and that these beauties seemed to grow all over the mediterranean

... and there is a funicular that goes right up to this restaurant

in the form of a bubble

That was the trip in a nutshell ... not to be recommended ...
so we took a walk around the south of the city

where the building were indeed very ornate with pretty churches tucked away

... and there were some nice designer type shops and bars ... but I was more taken by the balconies and lamps

I can honestly say that I was not enamoured by this city ... they certainly weren't 'tourist' friendly, there was little to see or do as everywhere shuts for siesta from 1-5pm ... unfortunately we had a full day here ... cutting short our trip to Ireland.
BUT it was warmer there than home is right now!

Right I'm off to dust off my dancing shoes ... Tonight Thursday club finishes for the summer and we have a disco ... which is just what I need as my hubby is having dinner with two of his grown up kids and after nearly 13 years of marriage, I am still not welcome ....

Thanks for stopping by
Have a lovely day

Papercraft Star Challenge

Hey there!
It's time for another challenge at Papercraft Star and this week it's all about
 Ice Cream

Don't these look delicious? I kinda like the blackberry one at the bottom there ... how about you?

For my card this week I found an image on the internet that I altered in photoshop

I printed it twice so I could cut out the sundae and mount it on top of the first one .. slipping a little red rhinestone in for the cherry ... and of course I glittered it

This card is for one of my girls at Thursday club who celebrates her birthday next week ...

We love it if you could join us at Papercraft Star this week and as always the DT have some great inspiration for you ... Jinny will be showcasing digitals from THATB ... our generous sponsor so why not hop over and take a look ...

Have a beautiful day

Hexagons

Good morning!
I'm here to share my project for this weeks challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog...

You've been Hexed!

Cheryl is our host this week and the challenge she has set is to use a hexagon(s) on our projects ...
These certainly seem to be the new 'thing' on the crafting circuit and they look so pretty ...
I always think of maths when I think of hexagons ... fortunately I liked maths ...
Here's what I came up with

Not too sure if you can make out that the box is a hexagon ... kind of hard to photograph

The lovely paper was a gift from my sweet friend Keren

... both the box and the hexagon overlay were cut on my Cameo ... and the roses are made by me

We are lucky to have the fabulous Lauren Bergold guesting for us for the next few weeks so please hop over and check out her project and those of the rest of the DT.
Full details of the challenge and the prize on offer are also on the City Crafter blog ... I hope you will be inspired to join us ... we'd love to see what you create!

I'm also linking this to the challenge at Moxie Fab World where there is a hooked on Hexagon Challenge too

Have a beautiful day ...

Masculine cute

I'm almost afraid to say it ... We have sunshine ... Yay!
Ok so it's only expected to last till the end of the day ... but it's such a welcome change ... and hearing the birds singing once again is so lovely on a Sunday morning ...

I have a card to share that I made for a friends partner ... it was his birthday yesterday

I discovered these gorgeous digital papers at Two Peas ...
They are by Chrissy W  ... a mini kit called Quitetude ... lovely shades of blue and kraft ... perfect for a male card
The birthday stamp you've seen before ... HA also from Two Peas and with a little work in Photoshop ... I was able to match the colour text to the paper

I hand cut some ties which I hung from a little metal hanger and die cut some stars and buttons using SB by Nina Brackett (Home sweet home).
Every time I call to see my friend ... her partner sits reading the papers so I had this little sticker of the teddy reading the papers and I thought it was just perfect ... I know it kinda makes it a cutsie card but maybe not overly so ... what do you think?

Have a wonderful Sunday ... thanks so much for stopping by and for all your lovely comments
