Boo!

Good morning everyone ...

It's time for another challenge at City Crafter and our hostess this week is Kirsty who is asking that we make a Halloween card or project ... however, as we in the UK don't usually send halloween cards and lots of people don't celebrate the halloween ... you can just make a card or project using halloween colours ...

We have the very talented Colleen Dietrich guesting for us this week ... I'm sure most of you know Colleen ... a worthy winner from week 120 ... Her lovely blog is full of inspiration and well worth a visit.

Now our sponsor this week is Freckled Fawn ... who are not only offering a $15 gift certificate to their store ... BUT they are offering Free Shipping for both domestic and international orders for those who enter the challenge ... the offer is open until the end of the challenge
To receive your discount ... use the promo code "CityCrafters" at the checkout ...

I actually chose to make a halloween slider card for this challenge

The little cat's face is a digital image from the Graphics Fairy ... I blacked out the eyes using photoshop and then used rubons to get the face

I just love the expression on his face

... and of course as you tilt the card ... the rosette and the cat's head spin round ...
(wish I could show you that ... )

Far too many pictures I know ... I just love playing with this card

So, if you're still with me ... I hope you will hop over to the blog and check out the creations from the rest of the DT ... Join in the fun this week and you could win the gift certificate ... or take advantage of the free shipping for all CCCB entrants and check out all the lovely goods at Freckled Fawn ...

Have a great day ... Thanks for stopping by and Stay safe

Rain again ...

Hi there ...
I hope you had a good weekend ...
I was so thrilled to see that my card Here had been picked for Top Mouse award at WaltzingMouse!!
Thank you so much ladies!!

We have a lot of rain again today .. it's expected to last a while with a whole months worth falling in the next 2 days ... We are expecting high winds too.

I had to go off to the Post Office this morning and already the roads are flooded ... I worry about my little stray cat ... Did I tell you about him? We've been feeding him for a long time now and though he is not too well ... he is improving with a little love and food. I guess he finds shelter somewhere because he doesn't come for food when it rains ... I know ... I'm just a sucker where animals are concerned ... I even gave in to my squirrel and put out some nuts for him ... In return he agreed to be photographed

Yeh I know ... rats with fluffy tails ... but who didn't shed a tear in the movie Ben?

Anywho ... I have another bracelet ... I've actually made a few more  ... I find them addictive ... the thing is I forgot to photograph one before I gave it away and the next one I sent as a gift ... so you have to wait a while to see that ... but I do have this one

Using book pages for the beads ... actually it wasn't until after I made it that I saw This gorgeous creation by the amazing Betsy Veldman ...

I just used beads I had in my box of broken jewellery ... and the pretty leaf is from a pack I bought a while ago ...
I've been busy with DT projects .. so it's nice to have something different to move on to

Ok ... so that's it for now ... I'm back tomorrow for the new challenge at CCCB ... hope to see you then

Thanks for visiting and for all your encouraging comments ...
Have a good day

Cars and Critters

It's a cold Thursday here ... Yesterday we had warm sunshine (with showers) but today it is a lot colder (with showers) ...
I have a new little friend ... a cute squirrel ... who for the past 2 weeks has been  hurrying here and there collecting the falling nuts. He comes right up to my window about 10 times a day ... and stops to look in ... like he's saying hello - But every time I grab the camera ... he off like a bullet!
He's not the only one on the hunt for food ... the last few evenings the cat has been bringing home field mice ... It's quite funny really ... see my son like me cannot bear to see an animal hurt ... so he frees the mouse from the cat and then tries to catch it to make sure it is ok ... Guess you can't stop nature
..........
A few weeks ago my blog friend Jak contacted me and asked if I would make a birthday card for her Husband's upcoming 50th ... She said he liked vintage cars, bikes and radio's ...
Jak was so kind to send me a whole heap of goodies for my Thursday group a few years ago so it was a pleasure to be able to do something in return for her kindness

This is what I came up with

It'd kinda difficult when you don't know a person ... but I know that Jak really like the card

All papers are from DCWV and though you probably can't see it ... the car is raised and glossy against the mat paper ...
........
Did you see the latest releases from PTI? I do love their goods but we have to pay huge import duty here in the UK ... so that with the postage means it is far too expensive for me to order stuff but I love to see the samples and I was particularly taken with Nicole's lovely bead bracelet ... It's been on my "to do" list for ages ... so I used my cameo to cut a few strips of paper and 'voila!' ... my bead bracelet

I am nowhere near as dexterous as Nicole (who makes everything look so simple) and though I did get to finish this to my satisfaction .. it was hard going with those fiddly little crimp beads ... BUT practice makes perfect ... and I intend to make some more of these ...

Finally can I just thank Steph and Lauren at Jingle Belles for featuring one of my Christmas cards this week ... I loved the postal prompt ... Thank you girls!

Have a beautiful day and thanks to you for stopping by

Wish upon a star

Hello there ...

This morning starts a new challenge over at Papercraft Star and the theme this week is
Stars

Don't you just love stars? They can be used on so many projects from Christmas cards to birthday cards ...

One of my lovely ladies at Thursday club celebrated her birthday last week and I made my card especially for her ...

I just know that she loves this image ( The Graphics Fairy) and anything girlie and soft ...

I did a little distressing on this image and though you probably can't see it ... she is layered onto muslin which has a generous coating of glitter ... the background paper is by Grace Taylor

I added some glittery puffy stars a sheer double bow with a metal star and a computer generated sentiment.

Our "Designer of the week" using digitals from our Sponsor The House Across The Bay is Steph ... Please hop over to the blog and check out all the samples from the DT .. I hope they will inspire you to join us this week ...

Thanks so much for stopping by today ... Keep safe

Inchies

Good Morning ...

I'm hosting the challenge at City Crafter this week and I have chosen Inchies as your quest
What we want to see is either 1' or 2' squares on your projects

Our Guest designer this week is our winner from week 122 ... Lisette Baker ... and this week we are offering another GD spot to our winner ... Hop over to the blog to see full details and to check out all the samples from the DT

Ok ... so on to my card

Background paper is from Astrid ... and I then cut four 2" squares from some paper by Grace Taylor which I stamped over using  2 different stamps from Kaisercraft

I made a little tag and cut a small butterfly from the same Grace Taylor paper and a used bird stamp (don't remember where from) together with a stamp from WaltzingMouse Fancy Phrases ...

I confess that this is one of my favourite cards ... It's already with my friend who lives in Scotland and celebrated her birthday this week ...

I hope you will be inspired to join our challenge at City Crafter ... we were blown away with all your entries last week!

Just have fun and enjoy your day ...

Till soon

Denim ...

Hi there ...
I hope you are having a good start to the week ... Thanks so much for your well wishes ... I'm still not feeling 100% but I'm no worse so that's a good thing .. I think it's a just head cold

So I have a card that I did for 2 different challenges ... I used the Sketch from this week's challenge at

... And I used the colours from the new challenge at

The DT at both these challenge blogs have terrific samples ... definitely worth a visit

I did a masculine card ...

Everything I used I have had for the longest time ...
The BG paper is from a Hot Of The Press Pad ... The wooden frame paper is from the Paper Boutique
and I used one of the WaltzingMouse stamps "Text It" to stamp a background behind those pockets

The pockets are from a digital file I got years ago by Gina Jane ... they are so cool ... they really look like fabric!

I cut some stars from the denim paper and attached them with some star brads ... those little brown metal dots that you find on the corner of your jean pockets (bet you're looking now) I replicated using sequins
I also added some stitching to the pocket tops and on my card ... and used a another WaltzingMouse stamp, a sentiment from "Fancy Phrases"
Hopefully I have also kept within the colours for CR84FN too

Ok ... I will be back in the morning - I'm hosting this weeks challenge at CCCB ... See you then

Have a lovely evening / Day
