Shades of Pink

Good morning to you!
It's time for another challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog where we have sweet Linda Robinson hosting for us .. This will be her last challenge ... sadly we will be saying farewell to Linda in a few weeks ... I'm really going to miss her ... and I know you will too
The challenge this week is Shades of Pink

Linda wants us to make a project using this lovely colour palette

I am embarrassed to tell you how long it took me to make my card ... For some reason I just could not get it together ... I decided that Pink was just not my colour ... Funny thing is that after I made my card I went on to make quite a few in pink with no trouble at all!

So here's my card

This is on it's way to my sister for her birthday

I think I got every shade of pink in there eventually lol! And a couple of punched leaves for the green

I'm sure you guys will have no problem with this challenge unlike me ...

Our Guest Designer for the next 4 weeks is the lovely Wendy from Apple & Apricot blog
Be sure to visit CCCB and check out all the creations from the lovely DT

I'll be back with you tomorrow ... till then
Keep safe and have a beautiful day

Just Because ...

Hey there ...
How was your weekend?
Mine was good ... I really enjoyed the Sing Live concert on Saturday night ... It was a really uplifting evening with some of the best songs ever written from the musicals ...
You just couldn't help joining in at times ...

This morning I saw that I had an Honorable Mention over at the Shabby Tea Room for my little pink pooch card! Thank You!! I really didn't expect that ...

This is a card I made ... "just because"  I got a new stamp set from inkylicious and really wanted to try it out

I just love these stamps ... nearly as much as my postage one!

Isn't the script lovely ...

I'm working on a project for my Thursday group ... this week we will be doing some cards for Mother's day with popup hearts

but as a lot of my group don't have a Mum to send a card too ... we will also be doing popup cupcake cards

Ashley Cannon Newell made a sweet popup card Here which really gave me the idea ... And last night I hand cut over 70 cupcake images! ... Thank goodness for my Cameo ... I designed all the inserts on my computer in the Silhouette Studio and cut out over 20 of them plus over 100 hearts and butterflies
Of course I will have lots of gems and things for them to decorate with as well ...

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting me today

You're A Star!

Hello ...
I woke up this morning to the sound of a woodpecker hammering away ... I had totally forgotten about him ... he frequented my garden all last year ... From Springtime onwards ... So I was happy to hear him telling me that Spring is definitely close by ... The daffodils have just started to open too ... Such pretty cheerful flowers ... in Lincoln there were hundred of snowdrops everywhere ... I never fail to be amazed at how such delicate flowers can force their way through the hardest of ground ...

I made a little card for a blog friend who has be so kind ... My card may be made of scraps but it holds a whole lot of love and thanks

The only 'new' thing on here was the blingy key and the pearls ... the resin rose had been used before on something and I took it off because it just didn't look right on the card I was doing at the time ...

I like it here ... It started life as an earring ... and the silver 'petals' were part of a swap gift sent to me years ago by Lynnda Hosni...

It's a beautiful sunny day ... but chilly! DH is going to the football match and I get time to play ...
This evening we are going to a concert at the Philharmonic ... one of my friends sings in a choir and they are performing 'Songs from the Musicals" I'm looking forward to it ...

Enjoy your weekend and keep safe

Thanks for stopping by

Pink Pooch

Hello ...
I'm not feeling my best today ...  Tired and bleary eyed. Gipsy had me up since 4am ... She wanted to go out and despite the fact that we had a beautiful sunny day yesterday ... the temperature dropped last night and there was a frost ... Obviously she wasn't happy about that so she growled and she hissed and spat ... I've cared for dozens of cats over the years ... even feral ones ... but Gipsy is a one off ! I've never known a cat to be so angry about the weather ... Thankfully the sun is shining again and she is has gone out

I've been playing with my scraps again ... This is not my usual colour .. or style

But everything was from my bits box ... when I cut all the fishtail banners for my group to make Valentine cards ... I was left with those little "V" shaped banners ... shame not to use them ... and the smaller scraps of paper I glued together which is the top half of my card

The little dog I stamped ages ago but never used it ... She reminds me of Mona Pendleton's little Gretchen ...

The Shabby Tea Room are having a pink party ...

... So I'm going to link this up there just for fun ... Well, she does look like she's going to a party with her pretty coat doncha think?

Have a lovely day ...

Birthday Balloon

Hi everyone ...
It's a brand new challenge at Papercraft Star today and I'm here to share my DT project with you
The theme is "Happy Birthday" and here's the inspiration photo

As soon as I saw this I had a notion to make a hot air balloon ... I get these ideas and don't stop to think things through ... I just forge ahead ... needless to say I had to have a little rethink ... the original balloon pieces I cut were too big - I just couldn't get them to stay up ... and I wanted this free standing

I actually made this set for my husband's birthday  a few weeks ago - I started by cutting strips of kraft coloured CS and weaving them to look like a basket - and formed a circle ... The base was an empty ribbon reel like this ...

... Which I covered with a circle of card ...
This not only gave me a base for my basket but an anchor for the kebab stick which I pushed through and hot glued ...

Then I punched a hole in the base of each side of the balloon, threaded twine through the holes and tied them to the basket ...
It was quite fiddly but I was happy to see my idea come together and it's still standing perfectly!

I made a very simple card to go with it using the scraps

My husband was quite impressed!

Please hop over to the blog to see what the rest of the rest of the DT have come up with ... hopefully you'll be inspired to join us

Have a beautiful day ...

Home Again

Hello there ...
I'm back home tucked up in my craft room once more ... It was lovely spending time in Lincoln ... although it was so cold on the east coast!
The day we went into Lincoln city it was really freezing ... It's such a lovely city ... a mix of old and new ... Tudor style buildings and cobbled streets with a river running through - swans gliding along - gave way to the more modern sections and the vast university buildings.
We visited the market and I was amazed at the beautiful home grown fruit and vegetables ... so much bigger and cheaper than here ... Time (and my Aunt's bad hip) didn't permit us to wander too far and being as it was so cold ... we only shopped for the necessities and then were taken home to have tea and cake in the warmth of her little home.

I really enjoyed the rest I got ... and now it's back to reality ... laundry, cleaning, cooking and with some crafting thrown in ... Starting with today's challenge at City Crafter where we have sweet Kirsty hosting for us ...
Kirsty has chosen a beautiful inspiration photo for her challenge
"Wings of An Angel"
Make a project that includes wings (angels, pixies, butterflies etc.)

Our Guest Designer this week is someone I bet a lot of you are familiar with ... it's Inger
If you haven't taken a look at Inger's blog ... I highly recommend that you click the link and pay a visit ... her shabby chic style is a joy to behold!

This week I made a bookmark instead of a card ... using up more scraps and some lovely bling from Charlene

I did a little embossing on the paper too ...

Yep, there's that butterfly again!

Because I mostly do square cards using A4 sheets ... I always have strips of card stock left over ... If you fold these they make excellent Bookmarks which are really strong ...

Our team have come up with some pretty lovely examples for this challenge ... why not take a look? And for a chance to Guest Design with us at City Crafter all you have to do is follow the rules and link up with us this week ...

I'm so glad to be back with you ... Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow

Take care
