Watercolour Card

Hello there

I've no idea where this week went ... I can't believe it's Thursday already. Hubby is due home early Saturday morning and it feels like he's only just gone!

I was going to catch up with friends this week but other than Pat and I getting together for our weekly craft time, that was it. It's been so cold and we've had really heavy rain, it even kept the cats in. They're like children and get frustrated being indoors so start chasing each other and then a spat ensues. It's crazy!

So yesterday, whilst Pat 'borrowed' a few of my card ideas and set to work on them, I pulled out my paints... Seems I have better results using ordinary CS and just 'playing' then when I'm using watercolour CS and really trying..

This was just a random piece, having painted the background I wanted to try stamping my trees first onto wet with ink to get the blurry effect and then once it was dry with Versamark and E/P.

I quite like the result of the ink flowing into the paint... What do you think?

I'm going to enter this at Try It On Tuesday

Where the theme is Trees

Whilst I've been writing this post Macy, the neighbours cat, made her usual visit for biscuits and would you believe that she and Missy had a fight through the glass! Man they're driving me nuts!

I really need to get out more Lol!

Wishing you a lovely day

Till soon

City Crafter 337

Good morning friends ...

Brrr! It's so cold here right now and the trees are quickly losing their leaves which means little shelter from the wind... Thankfully I don't have to go out and I can cosy up here in my little room

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter and This week Kirsty has chosen the theme
Ebony and Ivory

The challenge is to create a project that features music related items ...Piano, keyboard, musical notes etc., Hop over to the blog for full details

I pulled out my Memory Box Musical notes die to cut a mask for my card along with a little bird I'd previously cut on my cameo

Then I blended inks over the masks and splattered a little water on top before peeling off the masks

I love how it reveals the white image beneath. The sentiment stamp is from Wplus9 and the leaves are a Clarity stamp

Our Guest Designer this week is Danielle winner of week 329 ... Hop on over to the City Crafter Blog to see what Danielle and the team have to inspire you this week ... As always the winner will be offered a Guest spot with us too.

Have a lovely day and thanks for your visit

Hobby

Good morning...

It's time for a new word prompt at Our Beautiful World and this week the prompt is
Hobby

You all know I like to make cards, home decor etc., and lately I've been trying my hand at watercolour. I'm not a natural but I really like to try, along with practising colouring with Copics

Things change with time ... When I was working and my son was young, there wasn't a great deal of time for hobbies, though I loved to walk everyday with my dogs

...And every Sunday I would take my young son swimming... The little swimming baths we went to is no longer open and now I only swim on holiday...

Being retired I can indulge myself and craft, be it card making, painting, sewing or baking or sometimes curl up with a book in our conservatory

where I can also watch the birds

Of course being on the team for Our Beautiful World means that photography has also become a hobby, something that runs in the family ... My Father was an amazing photographer and my older brother has the same passion

Talking of hobbies, my husband leaves for Portugal on Monday to pursue his hobby of golfing

So that means 5 days of doing anything I want ... Lol!

Share your hobby photos with us at Our Beautiful World this week and hop on over to the blog to see what my friends are sharing...

Have a great day

Snowmen

Hello friends...

Brrrr! It's a cold and wet morning here in Liverpool and I'm popping in to share the crafts my special needs group made last night
They always have a little firework display this time of year but not everyone likes it, including me, so I did a craft class and prepared a few christmas cards and some snowmen for them to make.

Where would I be without Pinterest?  I saw these little snowmen on there and just knew my group would love them. I thought about letting them make them from start to finish, then had second thoughts, the rice would be everywhere! So I did that part and they did the rest
The completed 20 little snowmen looked so cute

Then on to the cards... mostly cut on the Cameo

It was a really good night and we were even treated to chip butties (it's a Liverpool thing) Proper fat fried potato chips (fries to my American friends) none of the skinny frozen "bung in the oven" things... Sandwiched into a barm cake (a soft bread bun). They were so good! My tummy doesn't quite agree this morning though Lol!

I've a busy morning and then lunch with a friend so I'll say goodbye for now...

Have a wonderful day

Autumn Blessings

Good morning!

Today there's a new challenge at Double D Challenges

Team Diane are hosting with the challenge....

Harvest Blessings and  Give Thanks

Here's my card

I just love the colours of Autumn and whilst we don't have Thanksgiving in the UK ... We used to celebrate Harvest Festival, when we would take the fruits of the harvest to church or school in little boxes or baskets to be donated. I'm not sure if they still do that now... Now we have food banks everywhere and all manner of food gets donated all year round.... There are even places to donate food for cats and dogs

My card celebrates the glory of the season with sponged and glossed leaves just like they look outside right now, well, perhaps not so glossy but just as pretty.
In case you're wondering, the little clock hands represent the time of year

Both Diane and Dar's team have some lovely projects up on the blog to inspire you and we hope you'll share your creations with us.
For full details and to see what you can win ... go on over to the Double D Blog

Wishing you a lovely day and the blessings of the season

City Crafter 336

Hello there...
 Happy November!!

It's time for a new challenge at City Crafter and this week Marina has picked the theme
I See a Star

Include one or more stars in your project

A few weeks back my husbands DIL gave birth to a daughter and this is the card I made for her which of course features stars...

Glitter card is always hard to photograph but I hope you can see that the little cloud (cut on the Cameo) has a bunch of hanging stars

Most of this was cut on the Cameo and I only had to do some ink blending

Our Guest designer this week is the winner of week 330, Charlotte
Do go visit the City Crafter Blog to see what Charlotte and the team have to inspire you this week..

Have a lovely day
