Snow on snow and Pixie Dust Pretties

Good morning dear friends ... I have lots to share with you this morning, but first ...
want to see some pictures of my garden?

Pretty huh?

and deep ...

I went out first thing this morning in my PJ's to clear a space for the birds to feed ...

... Though there are still a few berries to be seen ...

The snow started yesterday evening when it was already dark ... the beauty of it last night was amazing ... The one thing I notice and adore, is that snowfall brings with it an uncanny silence ... especially at night ... it's like the whole world has suddenly come to a stop to watch this amazing beauty.
Of course I know that it causes havoc and it is not everyone's friend ... and I for one do not like to drive in it ... Yet I can't help but still feel the wide eyed child in me as I gaze out of my window ... Now it looks like Christmas!

I have some things to share that I made during my time as Guest Designer for
Kirsty sent me the December kit ... Times Square Twenty 11 and there was so much to play with ... these are my final projects and I still have things left over

This is a house shaped folder ... made to hold a very special photograph ....

This is 3 generations of my family ... my Grandmother holding my first nephew .. her first Great Grandchild ... my Mum and Dad are looking on at their first Grandchild ... whilst my SIL's Gran also bestows her love on her first Great Grandchild
All of these special people are now gone ... even the baby
There are more pictures on Pixie Dust Paperie of all the beautiful products used here

An easy peasy LO given that these fabulous papers need so little adding ... less is more right?
And I just knew that the papers teamed with the beautiful cards from Tattered Angels were the perfect nesting place for this photo of my Daddy ... July 1943 ... my parents wedding day

Even the packaging came in handy to make this envelope ...

and a minimalistic LO of Sophia ...

See how well the seam binding matches the gorgeous paper ...

I have tried to show you this kit in all it's glory ... by that I mean I have added very little to it to achieve my projects ... some glitter, a few punches and of course my sewing machine ...
I have thoroughly enjoyed my spot as Guest Designer
Thank You so much Kirsty for giving me the opportunity ...
I hope you my friends have enjoyed seeing my projects too and please do pop over to see more on
 Pixie Dust Paperie ...

Till soon

Hello my lovelies how are you? ... it's cold but sunny here ... just got to watch the ice ... so easy to slip out there ... but thankfully I don't have to drive anywhere ... I've just been to the dentist and later I am being taken to town for my Christmas gift from my Husband and son ... they are getting me an Apple laptop so that I can use it anywhere ... How great is that?
So today I have a few little tags and one last bookmark to share ... using up my enormous heap of scraps ...

There's no rhyme or reason to these ... no two are the same ... just a collection of different bits and pieces ... but I like them like that ...

a couple of close ups

I love the rich red sparkly paper ... and I love the postcard print backgrounds
they go so well with cream lace

And my final book mark ...

Also with a rich red and some Prima "Jack & Jill" paper ...
This time I sprayed the flowers with glimmer mist (TA Tattered Rose) .. from Pixie Dust Paperie
and once assembled ... I used a crimson ink pad to deepen the edges.

And for those of you who were wondering as to how these flowers are made ...
well it couldn't be simpler ...

I used this punch ( 2") and punch out 5 or 6 ... make a hole in the centre
and thread them onto a brad alternating the shape ...
If you are going to spray do so first and let them dry before threading them on to your brad
Tip - I find the spray gives a natural curl to the paper
when I leave them on top of the radiator to dry - I put kitchen paper under them
Once you have them on your brad and your brad through your card ...
or in this case my wooden heart ... just start to squash each one
individually towards the centre ... You can curl or fold as you wish ...
So simple but I think they are so effective ...

That's it for now my friends ... I'm off to town ... Have yourselves a lovely day

Till soon

Bookmarks ...

Good morning to you my blog friends ... I have a few more little book marks to share this morning ... every time I think I am finished with cards ... bookmarks etc., ... another one crops up that I forgot about ... I need to get organised! I have a lot of birthdays this month too so I am trying to keep up with everything ... but then we are all so busy at this time of year so I know many of you can empathise with me ...

Three girlie ones and one masculine one ...

This is for a friends husband to go with the book we got him for Christmas ... the papers are a mix of Papermania (light paper) and some paper from a pad sent to me by the lovely Stella

Felt butterfly and handmade flower all glittered and I've used Tulle instead of ribbon at the top

I love how you can mix and match bits of paper for these bookmarks ... such a nice way to use scraps don't you think ... even pieces of doilies and lace

Websters pages that I added glitter to ... and a Prima flower on top of a handmade organza flower

And last but by no means least .....

Websters with MME ... another felt butterfly and glitter

... and more tulle ...
Do you have a favourite? Maybe the ones from yesterday with the pretty hearts?

I'll be back soon with some more cards to share ... have yourselves a wonderful day ....

More gifts ....

Hello there ... I am rushing about and just have time to post 2 of my bookmarks ... I've been for my blood tests this morning ... I've done a lots more cards ... 6 bookmarks in total and put up my tree (Yay!) ... My hubby is doing fine from having his eye done but still can't bend down or lift anything or really do anything other than go to the golf club to take coffee with his friends ... so I am doing everything around here even picking up when he drops anything and of course have to be here every 4 hours to scrub up and administer eye drops ... Phew! I am exhausted ... and my calendar is full

Anyway here are 2 of my bookmarks ...

First up ...

The light isn't great here and it is turning very cold again
( had to scrape the ice of the car again this morning) ...

This gorgeous image is from Cassis Creations on Etsy ... she has the most fabulous things ... if you like digital you must take a look

These bookmarks are double thickness and the flower is attached by a brad to a wooden heart ... which I covered with paper

Another one of the collage images ...

The flower is just punched from book paper and then sprayed
 with glimmer mist
The idea is that the bookmark goes in the book and the heart hangs outside
that way the flower doesn't get crushed

This is the reverse side ... the papers are Prima .. Jack and Jill and
can be purchased at Pixie Dust Paperie Here

Must dash now but will be back soon with more to share ... Have a wonderful day

Till soon

Houses and more

Good morning my dear blog friends .... how are we?
I am off to Pilates shortly but just wanted to pop in with a few things ... I am still going with the Christmas cards and need to make some bookmarks ... I bought some of my friends books for Christmas and I think a handmade bookmark would be nice to put with them ... So that is my plan this afternoon ... (she says) ...
I survived my class at the primary school last week ... very different from my Thursday group ...  much more rowdy and frantic ... but I think the children enjoyed making their notebooks and bookmarks ... after which I opened my stash of embellies and cards and let them just dive in and get creative ... I was tired before I arrived and I just about staggered out ...
I know you've seen these before (probably) but this is what we made ...

I thought maybe going to a school it was not such a good idea to show them cut up book pages ... but no one seemed to notice ... they were more taken with the ladybird and the calendar insert ...

So all my classes (apart from Pilates) have finished till New Year ... I have done virtually all my gift shopping and mailed lots of stuff already ... this is a sort of production line of "house" cards ...

I don't like to forget people who have been great throughout the year ... the postman ... who trudges through the ice and snow ... my hairdresser who always accommodates me 'cos I never remember to make appointments ... and on and on the list goes ...

plus some sweet neighbours ... we don't always see much of each other but we know we can call on one another when needs be ...
Now my exercise class beckons whilst my body screams Nooooo!! Gotta make the effort ...

Till soon
