Jingle Belles Week 18 & Amazing flowers

Happy May Day dear friends ...
So far I've had a wonderful weekend ... yesterday my friend and I went to the City of Chester ... A lovely place steeped in history ... the sun was shining ... the city was full ... we stopped at cafe bars had coffee and took in the street performers and of course hit a few shops ...
There was such a wonderful atmosphere ... what a difference the sun makes
The Jingle Belles prompt this week comes from Jess Moyer and we are asked to create a card without using any DP at all ... once again the DT have done fabulous cards as has Jess ... so without further ado ... here is my card

I'm still loving my robins ... would you believe that as I was making this "Rockin' Robin" was playing on the radio? ...
I was itching to try out my new SB dies and this was the perfect chance ... a simple black background to mount it on and some fussy cut birdies on a branch from an old Christmas card ...
A stamped greeting and some rhinestones is all that was needed along with some pretty gingham ribbon which is just ruffled onto some score tape ...

I've got to say that this is probably the quickest card I've made

Now I want to show you some amazing flowers ... just found in the supermarket today ... You may have seen these before but I certainly haven't ... they are Tulips ... but unusual ones ...

Do they or don't they just look like pieces of frayed linen?? Shabby chic or what? I thought they were amazing! ... sorry about the quality of the picture ... my DH took it on his phone ... yep people were looking at us like we were mad ... Lol!
and what about these Tulips ...

All curly and floppy ... but I love them ...
and finally some roses ... which I call "Vintage Roses" because they look like they have been edged in distress ink ...

That's all for now ... enjoy your day ...
Till soon

Congratulations William and Kate ...

Hi there ...
Just popping in to wish the Happy Couple a long and happy life together ...
I had a wonderful day watching the wedding ... everything just seemed to go so perfectly
I loved the parades and seeing all the people happy in the sunshine cheering ... Did you know that the Police were even taking cameras from those in the crowd who wanted pictures  ... photographing Royalty and guests and handing the cameras back to the people ... How good is that?
Of course I shed tears ... both at the joy of it all and because I felt so proud of my country ...
There were street parties all around the British Isles and it was a truly memorable day ...

Just in case you didn't see the evening attire ... here you go ...

Have a wonderful weekend ...

Waltzing Mouse ..

Hi sweet friends ...
I hope you are all ok ... I have heard reports of storms in Alabama so my thoughts are with my blog friends out there ... and everyone who may have been affected ...

I am just popping in with a quick little card for this weeks' challenge at WaltzingMouse based on this sketch ...
I've been blog hopping to see previews of WaltzingMouse's new upcoming stamps ... ooh! they look lovely ...  I find all their stamps are so versatile ...
so ... this is my card

WaltzingMouse stamps from the Victorian Frippery set ... I love how they fit perfectly with SB dies ...
a few handmade flowers, ribbon, twine, lace and beads and some embossing using the swiss dots folder ... for some reason I always come back to this even though a have quite a few folders ... Do you have a favourite?

I have an appointment with the doctor this afternoon so need to get on ... have a lovely day

Till soon

A Challenge & Happy Mail ...

Hello there ...
How are you all? ... I hope the sun is shining down in your neck of the woods ... it is here ... though the temperature is expected to drop down to almost freezing by tonight ... crazy weather ...
I've had a good day ... been for coffee with my friend this morning and an afternoon of creativity ...
First I have a card and tag which I made for this weeks' colour challenge at CR84FN  based on this pretty picture ...

... and another beautiful, philisophical quote ...
I love this colour combination ... so vibrant and yet I didn't think I was going to be able to put something together ... so I left it a few days and then came up with this

The background paper is an image from the Graphic Fairy which I enlarged ... my red paper is Core'dinations which I stamped on ... the pretty poppy is from Websters Pages Spring Market

... a tiny piece of scrap doily, ribbon and sparkly button from my stash ...
I liked this combination so much that I made a tag to go with it too

My Websters Pages are from the digital collection which gives me the freedom to alter the size of things so that my Poppy is obviously a little smaller on this tag than on the card ...
You can see I had a wee bit of trouble with my sewing machine ... but I think it adds to the tag

Next I want to share some Happy Mail from the ever so kind Amy aka Papertrails Leaver ... you may remember that she won my giveaway and take a look at what arrived today ...

a closer look at the beautiful card ...

"Thank You so much Amy"
I LOVE everything ... the lace ... pins ...  tickets ... everything! ... So very kind of you

Have yourselves a lovely day / evening and I'll be back with you soon

Mother may I ...

Hello and good morning to you ...
Today Cheryl is hosting for us at City Crafter Challenge and has asked that we create a card / project which includes the word Mother or similar (Mom, Mum, Madre etc.,) ... as you know we have already had Mother's Day here in the UK but lots of you will be making your cards and gifts in preparation for your Mother's Day ... so it's a great challenge ...
I chose to make a wall hanging ... using one of my all time favourite photos of my Mum with her first born son ... I never knew my big brother ... he died at 7 months ...

I think my Mum looks so pretty in this photo ... reminds me of a film star ... hence I chose to use  Websters Pages Hollywood Vogue paper ...

I used ply board for my base which I painted it first,  then added the paper ... adhered some lace to the bottom and sewed on some little crystals ... all the embellishments are from my stash ... the little pin is a handmade gift from sweet Stella  I used a small scrap of Tim Holtz paper to mount my photo too.

Now it's over to you ... please come and join us this week ... if you are looking for more inspiration ... please hop over to the blog  ... see you there!

Have a wonderful day ...

Bunny ...

Good morning friends ...
I have a couple of things to share ... first of all my card for this weeks challenge at Jingle Belles Rock and it's week 17 ...
where does the time go?
This week the challenge is all about recycling / upcycling ... not that I really know the difference ... but I do like to re-use whenever I can ... I keep the tiniest and strangest things ... Anyway back to the challenge which is very aptly named Happy Earth Day ... so here is my Earth Day card

My background paper and sentiment is Echo Park ... which I had left over from the gorgeous December kit from Pixie Dust Paperie ... the ' Carte Postale' with the embossed snowflakes is from an old shop bought card ...
The heart and wavy border are both cut from cardboard packaging ... and glittered up a little ... I left the border smooth and 'peeled' the heart ... cardboard cuts brilliantly with the Sizzix

The greenery on the heart is a bit of tinsel from an old decoration and one of my berry stems
the ribbon and little mulberry paper trees are from my stash ...
So I did recycle / upcycle quite a bit here ... and I plan to use a lot more of that Cardboard to make some gift tags with ...

Now I would like you to meet bunny ...

Isn't she just the cutest? got to show you some more pics of her

She ... is called Yvette ... why? ... well my Mum was called Yvette (her father was french) and as a small child she was nicknamed Bunny ... something to do with a cute little angora hat she wore that her Mother knitted for her ... so my Mum is spending Easter with us after all ...

Have a good one!
