City Crafter **Thanks** giving

Good morning friends ...
Our hostess this week at City Crafter is sweet Cheryl and she has asked that we make a Thank you card or a handmade gift ... I kinda chose to go with both

... and made a set ... a card, notebook and a decorated lunch bag to put them in ...
This is the card

Very girlie don't you think?
... and the notebook

... and the bag (thanks to Kirsty for sending me a whole lot of these)

Now how would you like a chance to be a Guest Designer at City Crafter
Well you can ... that's the prize up for grabs this week ... and it's an easy peasy challenge
Hop on over to the blog and be inspired by the rest of the DT's projects and this weeks' fabulous Guest Designer Laurie Schmidlin ... I'm sure many of you are familiar with Laurie's work ... if not you really need to pay her a visit ... she is incredibly talented!
Have I convinced you to play along? I hope so ...

Thanks ever so much for visiting me this morning ... have a lovely day

Jingle Belles card 45 ...

Hello!
Thanks ever so much for your sweet comments on my mixed media in the previous post ... I really appreciate and welcome your comments ...
It's a cold and frosty morning here in Liverpool ... people have been scrapping the ice from their cars and in the bright sunlight ... the white ground looked quite pretty ... I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures but I know there will be plenty more mornings like this... Brrrrrr!

I have my 45th card for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge to share ... This week the theme is "Clear" ... use at least one see through element ... I chose to use a beautiful scene from the Graphics Fairy ... added some flower soft for snow and some acetate ...

MME paper again, a little sentiment from Melissa Frances Deck the Halls everything else is from my stash

I have to show that image again ... just love it ... are you seeing the 'snow'?

I'll be back tomorrow with the new challenge at CCCB ... have a lovely day

A first attempt ...

I know that at times the worldwide web can be a nuisance ... But I wonder where I would be without it

I have always loved creativity of one sort or another ... but the technology just didn't exist when I was a child ... I learnt to sew, to knit and I loved to draw ... though I wasn't that brilliant at it ... but good enough to get an O level pass in art at high school ...
Painting though was never my forte and I could ruin a perfectly decent drawing by adding paint ...
Now a whole new world has opened up and each day I can not only see beautiful creations ... I can learn techniques ... things I'd never heard of are there in front of my eyes for me to feast on and to challenge me ...

I'm not saying that I love everything I see ... but I appreciate the talent, the effort and the expertise ...
I have a whole list of things I want to do ... one day ...

And now I can tick one thing off my list ... Mixed Media ... many of my sweet blog friends are so very good at this ... Linda ... Kirsty and Mona to name a few ... and when I saw a link yesterday on Mona's blog  (Thanks Mona) ... I followed it and that got me started ...

To make this 5"x 7" canvas

and this tiny 2"x 2.75" canvas

And looking at them ... though they are not perfect ... I have a wonderful sense of achievement

... and I'll definitely be doing this again ...

Thanks for stopping by

Birthday gift .....

Good Morning ...
It's chilly here even though the sun is shining ... and the trees are quickly shedding their leaves ... A few more weeks and they will have all gone ...

Yesterday I shared a card with you that I made for my friend's birthday ... well I noticed that she had posted a photo on her Facebook page - I know this is a treasured picture ... taken with her father and her little sister ... it got me to thinking that I could make a little gift for her ... something she could look at whenever she wanted ...

... to reminds her of those special moments ...

... and bring a smile to her face ...

Isn't this a beautiful picture ...

So this wall hanging is on it's way ... I know she will love it ...

I'm off to visit my girlfriends tonight ... every so often we have a 'get together' so I'm looking forward to it

Have a wonderful weekend and keep safe

Papercraft Star

Hello ... Are you having a good day?

This morning I'm playing along at Papercraft Star challenge which this week calls for us to use a flourish ... this is the inspiration photo

I made a card for my friend Pauline who has a birthday this week ... we met on our first day at school ... when we were 5 years old and have remained friends ever since

I used papers from two different Prima packs ... The Printery and Pixie Glen and of course a glittered flourish which comes from a company called Pebbles

Love the sweet little glittered acetate butterfly ... I picked up a pack of these in a stationery store.

Why not hop over to Papercrafts Star and check out the weekly challenges? Every week they have  freebie too ... courtesy of The House Across the Bay a delightful Etsy shop with gorgeous digitals ... well worth paying a visit

Thanks ever so much for your sweet comments and well wishes ... I'm still hobbling around but determined to go to Thursday club tonight and be with my group ...

Have a wonderful day
Keep safe

Jingle Belles card 44...

Can you believe it?
Where have the weeks gone? Card 44 and Christmas is just around the corner ... I'm so glad I kept up with the Jingle Belles Rock challenge ... and this week the theme is "Not a creature was stirring   ... " Include any sort of creature on your card ... well that just about covers everything huh? So without further ado ... here is my (very quickly made) card ...

This pretty paper is from the Melissa Frances range Deck the Halls
And my chipboard pieces are from PaperMania

I used Diamond Dust twinklets for the snow and the lace and twine is from my stash ...

On the news front ... well my hip and back are much improved but I now have a swollen and very painful foot ... don't laugh when I say I have gout! ... No I am not a heavy drinker which seems to be the first thing that comes to everyones mind when the "G" word is mentioned ... Can I hear you laughing? Anyway I can assure you it is not nice ... and the pain extends right up my leg ... Did you know that the things to avoid are what I would have classed as healthy ... for example porridge ... asparagus, cauliflower, shellfish ... Not that it's helped ... because I have avoided these things ... which leads my doctor to think that it is genetic ...
No, life hasn't been treating me kindly emotionally or physically but there is something good on the horizon ... remember I told you my Uncle died some weeks back? Well my dear Aunt has decided to take a cruise next year and she is taking me with her ... to Norway! Yep, I'm off to see the Fjords on my first ever cruise ... with my 85 year old Aunt ... I feel like Amy in "Little Women" ... just a whole lot older ha!ha!
... And before I go I have to show you a beautiful card I received from my dear friend Kirsty together with a whole bunch of brown lunch bags for me to play with ...

Thanks so much my friend ... I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness

I wish you all a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me such sweet comments
Till soon
